My wife and I went with the ‘Rent A Friend’ tour option for our first day in Bogota and are extremely happy with that decision. The communication before the tour allowed us to share the types of things we like to do while traveling so the day we spent with Juani was crafted to exactly what we were looking for. We packed in WAY more in an 8 hour day than we would have on our own (and learned a lot along the way). Juani and Aleja are very knowledgeable Bogota locals and the pride they have in their city (and Colombia in general) shines through in everything they do. We were fortunate to spend the day with Juani and then meet Aleja later in the day- both great people working hard to give their customers the best possible experience. What an amazing tour I found! I have never done anything like this, and was a little hesitant at first, and had no idea what to expect. But this exceeded all my expectations. I wish I could give this 10/5 stars!! Aleja is the best and I definitely felt like I was hanging out with a friend and just visiting a local. I've never been a big fan of formal tours, but this doesn't even feel like a tour. Aleja is so personable, knowledgable, kind, and I would consider her my first friend I met in Bogota. Please do this, even if you're unsure. I was so lucky that she had availability so last minute for me, I would've felt so lost in Bogota as a solo traveler for my first time. She made sure I was seeing exactly what I wanted, had great recommendations, and awesome planning. Even just doing the 4 hour option without private transport, we will covered so much ground, ate great food, watched a little of the soccer game, and took an Uber to see a really nice neighborhood in the city.

We were a Canadian family of 4, including 2 teenagers, visiting South America for the 1st time with no Spanish language skills. We found Zebra Fisgona's youtube videos doing online research about Bogota before we left home. We loved their energy and the way they presented historical and current information in an interesting way (and their English was fluent). We chose the Rent a Local Friend service as it is flexible, reasonably priced, and allowed us to see what was important to us, both in Bogota and in the surrounding regions. Aleja created a personalized 4 day itinerary that included all of our "must-sees". We had such a fantastic experience - while we are usually DIY travelers, using a local guide in Bogota was the best decision we made. Juanita and Aleja helped us with practical things like finding SIM cards that worked, using Uber and ATMs and fixing issues with online tickets. They had recommendations for groceries and restaurants near our hotel and how to get around safely. Best of all, they were just as much fun in person as they are in their videos. They found what interested each of us, and then shared relevant information about Bogota and Colombia, from a historical perspective as well as what it is like to live here in current day. We would not have seen or learned nearly as much without our local friends. In fact, having watched all of their videos in advance, we arrived feeling we were almost friends and left feeling almost like family. Exceeded expectations! Aleja is passionate about Colombian culture, history and society. She also knows food both in restaurants and in the market. I speak little Spanish and my goal - in addition to seeing the sights, included gaining skills to use a taxi, take a bus, use an ATM, order in a restaurant. All of my goals were met or exceeded. Aleja has a delightful personality. If you wish to go deeper into any topic of culture or history she has the knowledge and passion to do so. If you wish to see the sights in a simpler less detailed fashion she knows all the key points to share. I had problems with my internet and we went to a mall and installed a better sim card. I wanted to see the market and taste some items - that experience was wonderful. We went to Monserrate and Aleja explained the history. Later in Bolviar plaza she was able to give me an understanding of both the original history of liberation as well as later history from the 1980's and 1990's. I had so much fun that I extended my original 6 hour rent-a-friend to 8 hours. When we said goodbye i felt that I had an diverse and fascinating tourist experience as well as having the feeling that I had spent a day with a friend. Thank-you Aleja.

Stop looking and book this immediately! What better way to visit Bogota than with a friend who knows the ins and outs, the language, and will tailor your experience to your interests?? We had a 6 hour with car experience with Aleja the owner. She is smart, so good with people, and just a positive radiant rate person. She picked us up with a private driver who waited for us everywhere we went. She took us everywhere we wanted to go and suggested things we didn’t even know we wanted! She showed us her city with pride and vibrance and we enjoyed every second. Our 12 year old son hit it off with her and had the time of his life asking questions and enjoying the new friendship! We enjoyed it so much that we extended our tour and Aleja and the driver were flexible. This is not just a tour or an activity, this is a genuine bite out of life itself. Possibly one of the best tours i have ever been on.I contacted Aleja a few days before i left for Colombia, and she got in touch with me the minute I landed in Bogota. She set me up with her partner, Juani who met me at my hotel lobby, and off we went. Juani was fantastic. She asked me what i had interest in seeing, and if i did not know, she would suggest things. We went to the Gold Museum and then on a walking tour to see all of the fabulous street art in the La Candaleria section of Bogota. We also stopped for breakfast. The tour options were for 2, 4, 6 or 8 hours with a car or without one. I chose the four hour without car option. We were having such a good time, i wish i had chosen longer. If you are unfamiliar with Bogota or have never been, definitely get in touch with these guys. You will have an amazing time.

If you are thinking about using this tour service but are not sure, know that it will exceed your expectations! I traveled from the US alone and speak no Spanish. I wanted more of an informal tour to see an authentic view of Bogata. Juani did an amazing job taking me to unique locations. I found her to be extremely knowledgeable about Columbian history and culture, as well as interested in my personal experiences. As someone a bit nervous about traveling alone and with preconceived notions of Columbia, I found this to be a profoundly impactful day! I highly recommend that you schedule a day with them!

My husband and I absolutely loved our time with Juani! We first hired her for a 6-hour private “rent a friend” tour. We enjoyed it so much that we hired her for a 4-hour tour the next day! Juani provided the perfect blend of “live like a local” and sightseeing, while also providing fantastic recommendations for not-to-miss-experiences when we ventured out on our own. My husband said hiring Juani was some of the best travel dollars we’ve ever spent. We’re excited to get back to Bogota as quickly as we can.

This was definitely one of the best tours I have ever been on in all of my years of traveling. The name of the tour says it all. You are not hiring a tour guide, you are renting a friend. Juani was like visiting a friend in Bogota who happens to know the history and all of the places that you would want a friend(Not a tour guide) to show you in their city. We went to the Gold Museum then went to lunch then I asked to her show me some of the unique street art in Bogota. We also stopped at a local farmer's market and then just spent some time talking. If you only do one thing in Bogota, you should hire a friend for the day.

Our group (3 american, 1 columbian, 1 german ladies + an American teenager) had two fantastic tours, a walking tour of La Candelaria and a visit to Paloquemado market and Gold Museum. We had a blast, learned SO much and loved Aleja's personality. Very adaptable, empathetic and so knowledgeable. We strongly recommend taking a tour with Zebra Fisgona Tours! Aleja was an amazing guide and friend for my first day in Bogotá! During our 8 hours we were able to explore so much of the city. Aleja has a wealth of information about the history and culture. We went coffee tasting, biked around the main areas Im staying and visiting. We explored the gold museum, a couple important churches, farmers markets, main historical areas, and parks. We saw some of the street art and had some great local food and drink. It was the perfect introduction to help me get my bearings and to feel more at home in a new city. I cant recommend this experience enough! If youre wanting a highly personalized tour with an incredibly warm and welcoming guide, Aleja’s rent a friend experience will be the perfect choice!

FIVE STARS! We scheduled a custom tour with Aleja on our visit to Bogota. She was very accommodating and created a custom tour exclusively catered towards our interests (food and history). Aleja has a wealth of knowledge and is a true Bogotanian with a great love for her rich culture and is doing a service to both travelers and her country by being a bright light and true to heart representative of Colombia. We were a large group from California, Australia, as well as local Colombians. Aleja went above and beyond to accommodate all of us, in both English, and Spanish. All of us, as well as our family here in Bogota were so impressed with the knowledge Aleja had as they learned so much more than they imagined. We discovered Aleja on a famous YouTuber’s channel that hired Aleja for a Bogota tour. Fortunately, that same celebrity YouTuber put a link for Aleja’s webpage and that led to our booking. We will definitely book another tour with her next year!

Aleja absolutely exceeded all of our expectations with her incredible tour for our group of five in Bogota. We spent 6 hours with Aleja, wandering the streets of Bogota, hearing the (long, complicated, sordid) history of the city and country and eating fantastic local food. It was great to find a tour company that so easily took our interests/needs and crafted a personalized tour for those. We loved how easy-going and knowledgeable Aleja was; it was seriously like hanging out with the coolest local friend and local expert for the day. HIGHLY recommended!

What an incredible way to spend 4 hours on a Saturday! I met Juanita at the entrance to Monserrate, took the funicular up to 3,172 meters above sea level. Gorgeous views! The Basilica Sanctuary of Monserrate was beautiful! We also tried some Coca Tea as I'm a huge tea lover...I even bought some tea to take home. We continued our tour by walking down to La Candelaria as I am extremely interested in Street Art and Juanita's knowledge of Street Artists and the history in general of the are was supreme. So much History and such an interesting city! We walked all over which was super! We ended our tour with The Plaza de Bolivar. Overall, a joy to be shown around this city by Juanita! I highly recommend this tour! She also pointed out a great coffee shop San Alberto where I purchased coffee to take home to Norway! Fabulous!

We booked “rent a friend” for 6 hours. I wished we would have booked for the entire time. Juanita was absolutely amazing. Very informative. Juanita was super patient with our group as some people in our group were a bit older and a bit needier. She was fluid and was up for the challenge of our group and okay with changing our plans on the fly!

I traveled to Bogota alone for work and wanted to explore but I was nervous to do it alone (I'm a woman). I don't like group tours so I booked this one thanks to the amazing reviews and it did not disappoint. This company is owned by 2 women Ale and Juani and I love that there were options for walking or with a driver. I chose the 6 hour tour with driver. Juani was my point of contact via whatsapp, she answered all of my questions, picked me up on time with the driver and was soooo nice!! The driver was lovely as well. I had a list of places I wanted to see but welcomed all of her suggestions as well and we had the BEST time! Juani truly made me feel like I was hanging out with a friend and helped me take lots of videos and photos for my social media. She never made me feel like I was annoying which I really appreciate lol. If you're thinking about booking, do not hesitate! You're in good hands. I will never forget this experience.
