The Red Patrol Tours is a time machine were you can travel back to the days of communism by driving the communist cars. We were a group of 12 people raking the your and we had a great time. And we learned a lot about communism in Ronania. The cars were fantastisk. Highly recommended!

Serban is a fantastic guide and very passionate which is great to see. Definitely make sure you have a go at driving one of the cars, just make sure you start breaking before you think you need to! Thank you to the other guides that came along in the cars with us and put up with my erratic driving! If you like Communism history and prefer to drive around rather than walk, then its for you.

This tour made a great trip epic by learning all about the modern history of Romania and the communist era through the eyes of our guides who lived through it. Between the guides they each have their expertise and are so passionate about teaching you the history of either the cars and country. I couldn't believe they let you drive their 70's classic Dacia's and navigate you safely and clearly around the city. Their choice of places to stop and talk about the history to the area was spot on and you couldn't experience this just by reading a guide book. The cherry on the cake is the newspaper they've created about a summary of the things you learnt. It's written in their brilliant humour and it was given to us at the end of the tour as a memento. We had one day in Bucharest prior to having to work on a business trip. I had recently read "Children of the Night" a book about the modern history of Romania that focused a lot on the communist period. This made me very interested to hear more and from a local perspective. My husband who had not read the book is interested in history but I also thought he would love the car. I was right. Catalin was on time for the pick up and the car was of a different time and as an American in my 40s it was just unreal. The tour was more than we could have expected. Catalin was engaging and knowledgeable. We pummeled him with questions and he answered everything. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a unique experience.

This trip was amazing! Catalin our guide knew a ton about the city and was able to share loads of fun stories and facts. We got to see some great interesting Communist era buildings and of course ride around in the sweet Dacia (Malvina!) Tons of great photo ops too!!

I absolutely loved the tour! It was a great experience to drive the Dacia 1300 and get to see some of the harder to reach sights around the city. Serban was a great guide, very knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. I'd recommend taking the chance to have a very unique experience!

The Red Patrol Tour has absolutely been the highlight of our trip. I personally feel like no trip to Bucharest would be complete without this experience. Crinu drove us around Bucharest for nearly four hours telling us of his own personal experiences of life under communism. The tour was educational, personal, and very enjoyable. Crinu always had our best interest at mind. It was nice to have a tour with personal connection and not just be a number in a larger group. My advice is if you do only one tour in Bucharest that you do this tour. The best of the best and we travel quite frequently!

Great tour! Crinu toured us around in the awesome car and was a great tour guide. he knew so much and we loved that he shared his personal experiences growing up in communist romania. we will recommend this tour to everyone we know.

I cannot speak highly enough of this tour and my guide. I learned so much and it stuck with me through the rest of my time in Romania. It starts with foundational information of the founding of Romania and then goes into a deep dive through the communist era. You can arrive a blank slate and feel knowledgeable about Romanian history when you leave. Oh, and the car is super cool too!

We were a group of 9 on a company trip and had a convoy of 3 cars. I think this was the absolute highlight of our trip - everyone had an incredible time driving the cars and hearing our guides' point of view of the city, their lives in Bucharest, and the sites. The experience of driving a vintage car, combined with a knowledgeable guide, is a nostalgic and captivating experience. We felt like kids again in the back of our parents' cars. The attention to detail and personalized service provided by the RedPatrol team made our experience the most memorable. We had a brilliant time in the tour. We went on the tour with a big group, five cars and each of the drivers were very informative. The tour lasted three hours it went all around the city and had many stops for photos and to give the talks. I cannot recommend this enough.

This experience caught my attention as you can drive an old Communist era car in Bucharest. Certainly an experience never to forget. My guide, Crinu, was relaxed and very knowledgeable, having lived through the 1989 revolution. Plenty of opportunities to take photographs, to learn about significant places and significant moments in Romania’s recent history. Also to learn about the car and it’s history. Overall a fascinating mix of experience and learning.

Driving the Dacia 1310 was one of the best experiences of my summer. Catalin is a very professional guide and it's a pleasure talking to him.
