Punctual and friendl pick up from the team. Very friendly staff. Clear Safety introduction, guide in a kayak in front and guide with us in the boat. Knew the river very well. Told us loads about the surroundings. Lunch was excellent, we had great fun swimming during lunch break. Changing rooms (tent). Excellent service and sooo much fun for our kids and us!

What an experience! Eduardo and Pablo were incredible and we highly recommend Explornatura. Rafting the Pacuare was by far the best rafting ever.

The river was amazing. There were rapids around every corner probably 18 different rapids, and it was always full of excitement. There were some canyons with Stillwater where we could take pictures and the food was great. The guides were very personable, and we highly recommend this trip… It is, however a long day if you do the whole thing in one day with the shuttle buses from San Jose area.

An amazing day on the river. The guides were fantastic and so knowledgeable about the history of the local area and environment. Lunch on the river bank was a special moment with fresh fruit and wraps. Such a beautiful area and so peaceful watching the wildlife whilst listening to instructions from the guide!

Absolutely brilliant day! We did the rafting as part of an organised trip to CR and it was such great fun. Our guide was Jose-Reyes(?) He had 23 years experience and was funny and knowledgeable (and a little bit crazy!) but we felt safe at all times. Good instruction at the beginning so we all knew what to. The river and scenery were absolutely stunning and we had time to enjoy these before tackling the level 3/4 rapids - which were challenging enough to get the adrenaline flowing but never scary. We even had lunch freshly prepared by the guides on the banks of the river which was delicious and just what we needed after a morning rowing. On the whole, an excellent day. Thank you!

Our guide Pablo, and our Safety guide Jorge we’re lots of fun, they kept it light and gave us the impression of professionalism throughout our rafting experience. Our group was small and the lunch they made for us on the trip was better than some dishes I had in the cities of Costa Rica. 10/10 i would reccomend this trip.

We had an amazing experience on this beautiful river! The guides were highly skilled, knowledgeable about the entire area, and had a great sense of humor. We travelled as a family of five and our whole group was only 2 boats, which allowed us to enjoy the peacefulness of the river. Highly recommend this company!!!

We had a super day while rafting with Eduardo and José Luis at the Pacuare River. Everything was well organised , good to the point information, pick-up in the morning very relaxed and in time , good trip to the starting point, good material, proffesional staff, and then the rafting had to start! Realy great experience (first time) , the rafting itself, the swimming in between and not to forget the fantastic fresh prepared lunch in the middle of the jungle! Amazing trip with great guides and great food. Was out first time rafting, but we were happy to get the class 3/4 rapids. The guides even took pictures of us with their phone when we didn't bring any waterproof camera equipment. This was the highlight of our vacation. The river and the surrounding nature is amazing.

Fantastic rafting on rio Pacuare with 2 kids (14 & 12 y.o.). After getting our equipment and the safety speech, we went off for a 3-4 hours long rafting session. We went through different levels of difficulty ranging from 2 to 4. There is a good balance between rapids and calm areas where you can swim or just relax in the fresh water. Amazing landscapes with deep primary forest on both sides. Our guide was very professional and made us feel very safe while enjoying the adventure. Also a great stop for lunch with fresh ingredients buffet for burritos (in our case chicken, vegetables, guacamole etc) and fresh cut fruit. Very tasty ! Great organization by the agency. Strongly recommended !

I took a group of students from the United States on the Family Friendly rafting trip. It was a fantastic experience for them because there were lots of rapids but they were a level that made the trip enjoyable and not stressful. The lunch was truly amazing and the guides were great. I really like that we had an extra guide in a kayak as an additional safety measure. I would like to note that the description online suggests that we would have the "opportunity" to get out of the boat and enjoy swimming in the river, but in actuality it seemed mandatory. We had one student who doesn't know how to swim and this part was stressful for her. Although we all did it and it went fine, it was unexpected and we felt unprepared for helping the student work through the experience. We also found out after we were picked up that we would be hiking for 30 minutes before starting the rafting portion. It was downhill but steep and one of our group members was not mentally or physically prepared for that activity. While, in the end, we all loved our experience, I felt that the website (or follow-up communication from Explornatura) should more accurately explain the experience.

We have done rafting and canyoning. It was really exiting with a professional and enthousiastic staff. They have a lot of personal attention and a good lunch. 😊 We definitely come back here, when we are in Costa Rica again!!

What a wonderful and fun experience i had with this company. From booking to the very end, saying goodbye. I can’t put into words what a purely pleasant and fun adventure we had. The guides and driver were excellent- professional, friendly, informative and pleasant to spend the day with. The guides over did themselves by accommodating spontaneous requests. So much so that my mom wanted coffee on the way back, they happily stopped. My daughter wanted to see a sloth, we read in reviews people saw them at place we met. After a long day, they (multiple guides and workers) took us on a short trail to find one. They were incredibly generous with their time and patient with meeting our needs. I will let you know, the ride from where we meet to the river was an hour and the last 30 min trail to the river was very rocky and uncomfortable. With that said, i felt safe and secure. Oh, lastly, the lunch was unexpectedly delicious. It was a home cooked meal in the middle of a forest and the presentation was just as unexpected.

We took this expedition as we were looking for an exciting and more challenging day of rafting and the Pacuare River was the best choice for this. Our hotel recommended Explorenatura and they were quick to respond to our enquiry and we got a tour in at very short notice. We met the guides in Turrialba and had a great day out on the river. Well organised trip with friendly guides and wonderful nature. Excellent lunch was an additional bonus. Best rafting we have done and great that the river is still natural and not damned up like many others in Costa Rica where the quality of rafting can depend on the amount of water released daily by the dam. Absolutely recommend this excursion and the Explorenatura team !

We had a great experience on this rafting trip! The scenery was beautiful. Our guide, Abel, clearly had lots of experience and we felt like we were in good hands. He taught us a lot about the area, and the flora and fauna. It was very nice chatting with him, but he also let us relax and enjoy the view. It was nice that we were the only raft. Eduardo was in a kayak watching out for our safety, and he was also very friendly and helpful. Lunch on the river was great, and all our dietary restrictions were accounted for, which was awesome! We’re glad we brought special waterproof cases for our phones, that went around our necks and tucked into our lifejackets so they’d stay out of the way until needed. Abel was great about letting us get some good shots and video in the calm moments. We didn’t get our driver’s name, but we also appreciated being taken safely to and from the water. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our White Water Rafting. We had 5 of us on the raft together with our Guide, Carlos, who was excellent. He made the whole trip great fun and he was also very informative pointing out various types of birds and butterflies. The lunch that was provided was first class. Very many thanks for a great trip.
