Marianna was a very knowledgeable tour guide. When had both Spanish and English speaking passengers. She explained everything in great detail to both groups. There was ample time at the sight to enjoy the penguins.

Our guides, Claudia and Tina, were excellent. They gave much information about the region and the wildlife. Answered many questions and gave us a terrific lunch. Pablo was an excellent driver. We enjoyed this adventure so much and it was well worth the cost.

The tour guide was very knowledgeable, and she was careful to keep track of everyone in the group. We got off to a bad start. The instructions about how to find the tour vehicle were incorrect and we spent way too much time wandering around and asking people where they thought we should go. We were told to look for a sign CALA 1. There was no sign for CALA 1.

We love the penguins. Would give a 5 star except there was almost nothing else to see apart from the penguin. Pretty boring 2 and a half hour drive each way. Our tour guide (Maria?) was excellent, she is nice, knowledgeable and worked hard tp keep us all on time and schedule.

So well organized - right from booking it was easy!! They provided us with great detail were to meet and they were there to meet us as we walked off the pier at Cruise port. We had a smaller sized bus about 17 people. Nico was a great guide- gave us lots of information so we were well prepared for seeing the penguins! He planned a rest stop so people could use the bathroom. We had two hours and a bit seeing the penguins. It was the perfect amount of time. We got back to the bus Nico had a cold bottle of water and box lunch for us. He answered everyone’s questions on the way back. Highly recommend- penguins were plentiful! Cruise ships excursion do the same tour but double the price.

Seeing penguins up close and observing their behavior was amazing. We were on a cruise and our ship was unable to stop at Port Stanley so we were desperate to see penguins in Puerto Madryn and signed up for this tour at the last minute. We were very glad they could accommodate our group of eight. Our guide, Marianna, was enthusiastic and informative. Although the drive was long and scenery barren, she talked to us and even moved throughout the small bus making sure all could hear when the PA system was uncooperative. Punta Tomba has a beautiful shoreline and we saw hundreds of penguins plus other animals. The only negative was the extreme wind we had that day. Even the penguins were often seeking shelter in their dug out burrows. The box lunch provided was welcome since the timeframe required a meal but it was very basic. On the way back Mariana continued her enthusiastic discussions and we were treated to a stop to overlook the town and beautiful bay and beach of Puerto Madryn.

arriving at the destination after 2.35 Minutes of travel, Claudia(Spanish & Italian)the senior guide aided by Agustina (translator English) gave us the history of the land and a complete description of the penguins From birth to adulthood, they kept us listening for the duration of the trip and at the return they answered all our questions. Yes, it was tiring but worth every Penny. Congratulation (Calaio Viajes Y turismo)

We saw lots of nesting penguins and the llamas even babies up close. You don’t get to walk on the shore but the penguins walk right up to you.

The walkway is nicely laid out for viewing the nesting penguins and it was fun to see them at the water’s edge, swimming and diving for food. Our guide, Hugo (spelling?) made the trip work for us with his excellent background information about the penguins, the stories he shared about the area and his gentle control of our group, moving us around effectively.

Punta Tombo was a great experience. We loved seeing all the penguins. I would not miss it. It is a very long ride from the port. The bus we were on was old and not all that comfortable. The guide spoke good English and the box lunch was fine.

Nestled in a raveen along the ocean, very windy day we went, once you pass the alpacas you finally come across the penguins scattered EVERYWHERE, so cute! Under the wood bridges, some in their holes, most all nestled together on the waters edge. Cruise ship says an hour & half, it took our independent driver 2 hours 15 in both directions and he was passing people left and right. Definitely worth going if you love penguins $12 usd admission fee Bus drive varies from $100 & up

Well worth the walk along the penguin reserve trail as it was amazing to get close to the cute penguins due to the season we went, and also see them on the coast all in their natural habitat

A great short visit of the town. Very quaint and relaxing. We booked a private short excursion to see the sea lions at punta Loma. A stop to see landmark flag, the sea lion were awesome.

Hugo was excellent, knowledgeable, patient and trustworthy. We saw thousands of Magellanic penguins, along with Guanacos and plenty of other birds

This is a great excursion for cruise passengers. Much cheaper and rather than being stuffed in a tight bus we had plenty of space in a comfortable van. Much of the time is spent getting to the penguins and getting back, but it is worth the time as seeing all those penguins is a magical experience.

We had a wonderful personal excursion. Our tour guide Ariana was very knowledgeable and entertaining. She also offered us the option of walking through the rookery with her or on our own returning to the vehicle at a specified time. She pointed out the chicks still with down, and noticed many experiences we may have missed without her knowledge. We were in constant contact with the ship and the ship's excursion tours returning st the same time as the buses. Because the ship's excursions were late leaving the ship they extended out "all aboard" time 1 hour. The lunch was ham and cheese and turkey lettuce and tomato sandwiches, apples and a sweet. They offered a vegetarian option also. The company was very accommodating and answered all of my questions promptly. I highly recommend this tour.

Our driver/guide was very accommodating and helpful. During the drive he provided much information and spotted different animals near the road. Once we arrived he guided us along the path explaining the habitat of the penguins then gave us private time to observe them. We very much appreciated his input and this tour.

We were in Celebrity Infinity Antartica cruise embarkating on January 28. The time at Puerto Madryn was very short when compared to how far Punta Tombo from Port. All of us worried about not getting back to ship on time after the tour. We arrived at port at 7:00am and met our driver/guide Max right away. We were the first car left the parking lot at the port. It took 2 hrs to get to the reserve. Max gave us ample of time to enjoy the place before loads of tourist arrived. We saw many penguins and took tons of pictures with no one in sight. Max drove us back to port after spending two and half hrs at Punta Tombo. We even had time to walk around port area before returning to the ship. Many thanks to Max who is very friendly and customer oriented.

First off, we saved a lot of money by booking this tour through Viator rather than through the cruise line. Since it was a shared tour, we had the added benefit of knowing that the tour would arrive back at the ship on time. The guide (sorry that I don't remember his name), was excellent and we enjoyed his commentary on the long drive to the preserve and back. He was also very clear in his directions about staying in the designated path, what to do if the penguins decided to wander into our space, etc. We also stopped along the way back a couple times for bathroom breaks, snacks, and drinks. REALLY SPECIAL TOUR!
