Our tour guide Agustin was wonderful. Super friendly and knowledgeable, and helped us have a great time. Definitely recommend!

Rigo was an amazing tour guide. He made sure we had time to participate in all parts of the tour. He was kind and communicated well.

It was great tour in the city full of culture and nice places! The guide was very polite and he knows the history of Puerto Plata. We are very happy and thankful for this tour!

We were very disappointed in this tour. It started a half hour late because Rigo was “helping” others. The stops were all places to buy—rum factory, chocolate shop, jewelry shop, etc., none of which held any charm or interest. At the rum stop we were directed into a long hall and he said he would meet us there. We stood around for almost 10 minutes in the dark with no place to even sit down, no Rigo, nothing. So we all walked through, no tour, samples, information. We thought he spent so much time organizing others that he basically forgot about us.

We love Rigo! He gave us such an awesome tour of Puerto Plata, and he stopped at a place for a wonderful lunch near the beautiful beach. He took us to the rum factory, cigar factory and let us shop in a great shopping area. He is so friendly and kind and we just love being with him. He and his drivers are the best! We will always chose his company whenever we are in Dominican Republic!

We did the city tour with Rigo in Feb 2020, it's just taken me a while to write the review, but I promised I would! He's very knowledgeable and we had a lovely time on the tour.

We were contacted with specific instructions on where and when to meet our driver. We were meant by a very pleasant and kind young man named Augustin. As I have a mobility issue, he took careful precaution helping me at each stop. Augustin is very knowledgeable, friendly, professional and extremely likeable. He showed my husband and I a wonderful time and we highly recommend Augustin! This is a very good way to learn about and enjoy your time in port and to meet the people of Amber Cove! Thank you again, Augustin!!!

This was a fun tour. Rigo was very friendly. A good way to see a lot of the city. However, the “factory tours” are very brief. We spent about 15-20 minutes at a rum factory and sampled a lot of rum, which was fun. The cigar and chocolate factories are more like a store with a few samples. The amber museum is a jewelry store. Our salesperson there was very pushy and the jewelry was very expensive compared to other places.

My family had to cancel the tour we booked, because our stop in Puerto Plata was canceled. Rigo, the tour guide, contacted me on the morning of the tour to check in, and when I told him my stop was canceled, he cancelled my booking and fully refunded me. My family really appreciated his promptness, flexibility, and follow-through, and we will definitely book this tour with him if we get to visit in the future.

Rigo was an amazing host from port pick-up to drop off. He showed us around beautiful Puerto Plata and gave us some history of the island. We stopped at the Ron Macorix Rum factory followed by a stop at a cigar factory to roll our own cigar. We then went to taste test some chocolate. We had lunch at a nice restaurant. Finally, we walked down Umbrella Lane and the Pink Alley. The only thing our group would have changed was to eat at one of the establishments in Umbrella Lane. Overall it was a great tour! Thanks, Rigo, for your hospitality and sharing those amazing Dominican bananas!

Very unorganized at the places we visited. Chocolate factory was so over crowded we could not hear and truthfully not much info just wanting to sell a few products. We skipped the cigar factory as none of us are smokers. Run factory was very crowded and we stood waiting for over 30 minutes for a 7 minute film.

Rigo was punctual, super friendly, and helpful. It was like taking a tour with a good friend. My only critique would be I would’ve liked a little more history about the place. Other than that, we had an awesome time and laughed the entire time. He was also very helpful taking pictures and videos of us. I would definitely use Rigo again in the future.

Rigo was absolutely wonderful. Very friendly and kind. We had a rainy day but he made our tour memorable. He took pictures for us and customized our tour to what we wanted

This tour was amazing and Rigo was very accommodating. Our cruise ship changed dock times and Rigo worked with us. He responded via text and phone call which was so easy. Me and my wife were the only people on the tour. We took a van to the waterfalls/ ziplines. We were accompanied by our city tour guide and a photographer which we did not ask for but he was great. He was amazing to talk to and took great pics. I wish I remembered his name but we had great conversation throughout the tour. We bought the pics which later came digital which included a video. We took a hike to the ziplines and felt safe while riding. There were 5-6 ziplines. We then jumped off small cliffs into the water and slid down waterfalls. We floated in the creek to the different spots. The waterfall experience was my highlight for my entire cruise vacation. After the waterfalls, we had lunch which was provided. It was all you can eat and delicious. We then took a guided tour in puerto plata and went to cigar, coffee, rum, and several other shops. The tour guide was friendly. I would highly recommend this tour especially the zip line/ waterfall experience. This truly was a memorable experience for me and my wife. Thanks Rigo!

My husband and I, along with our 2 friends hadn't made plans, for Amber Cove. We woke up and decided to look at our options, on Facebook and came across a post about Rigo and decided to give him a call. We got very lucky because he just so happened to not be booked, for the day. We took a 6 hour tour of Amber Cove and seen all the sites, took a few tours, sampled local rum and chocolate, toured beautiful downtown spots and had a wonderful photoshoot, all by Rigo. He knew EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING and Everyone seemed to know and love him and gave us the VIP treatment when they saw he was our driver. He's like a local celebrity. His van was comfortable, clean and had great air which was much appreciated because it was a very hot day. Can't speak highly enough about Rigo and our tour. Immediately passed off his info, to a friend who was heading to Amber Cove shortly after us. Hope to come back and do a different tour, with Rigo, in the future.

We had an excellent private city tour with Augustin of Amber Cove and Puerto Plata. He was very personable and had a wealth of knowledgeable. He shared the local culture and sites with us. We love baseball, so he showed us several local baseball fields and drove us by Carlos Martinez home. We visited the rum, chocolate, and cigar factories. The rum tasting was our favorite. We also visited umbrella street and several stores. After several hours of sightseeing, Augustine to us to a nice restaurant on the beach. The prices were very reasonable. This tour is a great way to see the sites at a reasonable price. I booked this private tour through TripAdvisor with Rigo. He was excellent about communicating with me. He even recognized me and flagged me down in the cruise port. My family voted Augustine and Riga tour one of the best we have ever had. They loved the port and want to come back. I highly recommend Riga and his company.

Rigo was wonderful! He was so helpful in guiding me on what to choose for our tour. He was very knowledgeable and made us feel safe and welcome . We will definitely have him as our tour guide again when we return. We had an amazing time!

We had a great time in Dominican with our guide Rigo and his brother! We went to Monkey Jungle and ATV. He was very professional and always asking us if we wanted to stop and see something else. Our time was a bit limited so we couldn’t but from making the reservation to drop off Rigo answered all my questions. Our group of 17 had a blast and memories that will last a lifetime! Best part it was private tour and didn’t have to fight the crowds on a large group excursion.

RIGO was a wonderful tour guide, he's very personable, friendly and catered to all of the groups needs. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour. RIGO was able to answer all our questions about his country and seemed to thoroughly enjoy his job.
