What a fun tour! Chris gives an interesting overview of the regions in Mexico and how that affects food and drink in the Riviera. The pace was perfect and the food was delicious. Chris answers all questions and is a joy to be around. Highly recommend!!

We enjoyed two food tours with him, one at night in Puerto Morelos and one the next day in the morning in Cancun.... both were super detailed, informative and personal. We learned to know so much more about the Mexican food culture and how the area really started developing only quite recently. If we'd have to choose between the two tours, probably the night one in Puerto Morelos as the town is really charming and genuine. That does not mean that the Cancun tour falls behind, it's more about personal taste and you cannot go wrong on either. Just book both!

An overall great experience with Chef Cristobal! He is very knowledgeable, personable, and kind. Would definitely recommend this tour for those who want to experience the true local cuisine of Puerto Morelos.

We had the most amazing experience on the foodie tour with our guide Cristobal. He was so fantastic! Not only did he tailor our food stops based on our individual dietary needs, but he chose extraordinary dishes-each restaurants serving cuisine from different states of Mexico & he was so wonderful & knowledgeable in educating us about each dish, how they were prepared, region from which they came, & chefs who prepared the dishes. I really loved how animated & cheerful Cristobal was coupled with how informative, engaging, & friendly he was. The food was fantastic & I will not forget this experience. Thank you so much!

The food was delicious from local eateries ran by families that originated from different regions in Mexico. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and were so full by the end. Afterwards Chris even took us to the local doctors to help translate for my partner who ended up having an ear blocked full of sand!! We appreciated it so much and cannot thank him enough. If you find yourself in the area then this tour is a must!

It was my first food tour ever, and I enjoyed the experience a lot! Our guide Chris was very knowledgeable and super friendly, very easy to talk to. And all the food we tried was amazing! While we're still here we're definitely going to eat again at some of the places we've discovered on the tour. I would definitely recommend this tour. Thank you Chris :)

Our tour guide was awesome. Friendly , great information about history of area and food. Easy walking around the older, local side of puerto morales. Bring an appetite. The most unique and interesting part was the fruit tasting. To be honest I was not excited when we entered the fruit stand. Our guide picked out at least a half dozen different types of local fruits which most of us had likely never seen or tasted. Each fruit came with a great story and several tastes. Just spectacular experience.

Cris is an amazing guide that provided insight into the history of the Cancun region. On our first stop we had some of the most amazing Guacamole ever and a very refreshing hibiscus tea. During the second stop some delicious empanadas and other delicacies. Third stop was for some delicious steak tacos with many different toppings. Final stop included the best churros I've ever eaten.

Chef Chris is great. We have taken this tour many times with friends and he always takes us to a place we have not visited. This tour is the best way to discover new or hidden gems in the Colonia. It is also the best way to build your confidence to try out places you might not feel comfortable trying. On this trip we tried delicious mole, whole hogfish (don’t let the name discourage you) and beef tacos that were fresh, hot and very tasty. We have returned to many restaurants that we first visited with Chef Chris. I highly recommend his tour.

Go hungry! We went to several restaurants having a little bit at each place and ending with (best) churros as dessert. As we walked we got to know each other, the history of the area, and of course, the context of the food itself. Chris was a great tour guide and I'd highly recommend this tour!

This was one of the best activities have ever been on. I’m not even a foodie and I had so much fun. Cristobal far exceeded our expectations in terms of quality and insights on the food and the history around it. We walked away full of delicious food and wonder for the unique areas we were visiting.

The Foodie Tour was excellent! Cris was super friendly and informative. We went to places we would never find on our own. Cris hailed down a cab and negotiated a trip past the beach area prior to returning to our resort. Perfect day!

This tour was great! Interesting historical information, great food, good conversation. It was nice getting away from the resorts into a real town and eating very fresh Mexican food with very knowledgeable and pleasant guide.

We had a delicious, amazing and fun Playa del Carmen Foodie Tour with Cristobal of Riviera Maya Food Tours..!! He is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the history of Mexico and the people and foods from the different regions. The foods we tasted, from breakfast tacos to empanadas to fresh fruit drinks/frozen fruit “popsicles “ to lunch tacos to tamales, were amazing (my favourite being the empanadas)..!! We were able to experience all of this within walking distance from one eatery to the next! Thank you Cristobal for this experience and for the delicious Valentine’s chocolates and lollipops ~ I look forward to trying the recipes and using the shot glasses!! Highly recommend doing this tour and we look forward to another tour with you!

We had an amazing time with Chris adventuring through Puerto Morelos. He gave us some history behind the food we were eating. He was very engaging and friendly. We usually do some water activities but wanted a change and I’m so glad we did. He helped get us in a cab at the end. It was a great experience beginning to the end. I would recommend this tour to anyone!

Cristobal, who is an amazing, genuine human being, gave a wonderful tour of a few of the many restaurant/street food gems in Puerto Morelos. The food was excellent, and learning the history behind these foods made the tour even better.
