Thomas was our guide and he was excellent. The historical information he provided in Yu Garden made for an incredible cultural experience.

A fabulous tour of Shanghai. Our tour guide Alice was simply the best! She had so much knowledge and background information about Shanghai and all the sites we’ve visited. Plus, she was the friendliest and most helpful person we met here. I am so glad we went on this tour for our first visit in Shanghai.

Had a wonderful experience during the half-day tour with Tom! He thoughtfully planned the route so that we experienced each attraction with minimal distraction / crowds. He was able to answer all sorts of cultural and historical questions with a great sense of pride and humor. Would certainly recommend this tour for hitting all the major sites while adding color and context you wouldn't get in seeing them alone.

I can't say enough great things about this tour. My colleagues and I spent a week in China for work and we had a few hours available before our flights home. We wanted to see what Shanghai was about after spending most of our time in an office working. In just four short hours Tom showed us some amazing sites and shared historical and cultural facts that we never would have learned on our own. I feel like he packaged over a day of sight seeing in this short amount of time without any feeling of being rushed. Tom was incredibly nice and very knowledgeable. If you choose this tour, you will be very impressed. I know we were!

This was our first trip to Shanghai with 2 teenage boys. Tom was prompt, excellent English and his depth of knowledge about events and the history of sites we visited, impressive and not boring according to my boys. Would definitely use again. We visited the Yu garden, a tea shop, the French, English and American concessions- brilliant explanations of the history and differences between each. He dropped us off at a soup bun shop and across the road was an equally delicious chive and scallion pancake shop. ( pictures below). Thank you!!

Tom drove my friend and I around Shanghai for 4 hours. He was on time, polite, knowledgeable, and his English is excellent. For two non mandarin speaking Americans this was crucial. Tom took us to the gardens and explained the history and cultural importance of the location. We then toured the rest of the city and that included a tea tasting session. We learned all about the different types of Chinese tea and the significance of all of them. Finally we finished our tour viewing many of the skyscrapers that makeup the huge Shanghai skyline. Tom dropped us off at our lunch destination at the end of the tour. I highly recommend his services for any English speaking tourists!!

Tom was an excellent private tour guide. He arrived on time and provided us with a wealth of information about Shanghai and how the Shanghai Village started out as a small fishing village into what it is today. He gave us a clear understanding about how the French, British & American Concessions were established there also. Tom also answered the numerous questions my husband, son & I each had for him. He answered our questions about Hong Kong, the economics of Shanghai, the real estate, etc. about Shanghai, and so much more. We would highly recommend this half day tour to anyone interested in learning about this city of Shanghai. I have been on tours of Shanghai in the past but Tom's tour is fabulous and the best I had taken.

An excellent tour with a very experienced and knowledgeable tour guide. Tom met us in our hotel lobby and we started the tour in the old Chinese section of the city. Tom took us to the Chinese section before it became too crowded and explained the history of Shanghai as we walked around. We experienced a Chinese Tea Ceremony which was a highlight, and then learned about the Tao religion in the Tao Temple. Our second stop was the beautiful French Concession followed by the Bund. Tom was able to answer all of our questions and recommended places to eat. I thoroughly recommend this tour.

Hello - would highly recommend taking the tour with Tom if you have limited time (business). He is very friendly, eloquent and explains and points out pertinent details about all the sights you are seeing. He also picks you up and drops you off for convenience. His English is excellent so expect very fluid conversation. I was very happy with the outcome.

Tom met us at our hotel and toured my husband and two teenagers around Shanghai for a private tour. We booked the half day tour which was perfect. I was surprised how much Tom was able to fit in and the tour was the perfect introduction to Shanghai. We loved the Yu garden and tea tasting. A word of warning - after our tea tasting we were encouraged to buy some tea, which seemed like a great idea since we had so enjoyed learning about the various types of tea. We should have been more careful to check the prices! $400 for 4 packages of tea! Wouldn't have spent that at Harrods with a tea service included. Other than that, we really enjoyed the tour.

Worth doing a Shanghai city tour to get grounded as to what’s what. Our tour guide was terrific - informed and really helped shape her comments and the whole experience to our interests. She also shared a lot of great places to eat and visit - kept us directed to good, non-touristy places.

We had a fabulous trip with Tom. He spoke excellent English and told us lots of interesting facts about Shanghai. We had a little problem during the trip and he sorted it out of us with great help. When we return we will use Tom again.

We had Tom Zhang as our guide and he was so friendly, knowledgeable and kept us adults, teens and children all interested and secure. Would definitely do another tour with him. Unfortunately we made a mistake of going to a tea shop and bought tea without understand the full price and had to return them. Luckily Tom talked with them and organised our refund so he is very reliable and helpful. Highly recommend his tour for all ages.

Judy ( Tour Guide ) and Joe ( Driver ) was outstanding. Meet us at Baoshan Cruise Ship Port on time with a big smile and made us feel welcomed. Frist stop was the Bund, then Yu Gardens, The French Concession and final stop to Pudong Air Port.
