What a fun trip. Johan was able to accommodate my kids so we could all venture out. Went to two wineries and lunch. I would say looking back, wish we could have tried more wines even if smaller pours and each venue and a third would allow more comparison. The first winery felt more like a tasting, the second one was definitely more “family run”. Thank you Johan!

We had a wonderful wine tour with Johan. He is extremely knowledgeable on wine generally, and especially in relation to Spain's wineries and wine history. He was also able to answer our many questions about Valencia and its surrounding areas. Our tour concluded with a delicious meal in a local, non touristic restaurant that was just fantastic. We highly recommend!

I was visiting Valencia wineries together Johan, our guide, and I have to say that it was a really nice experience. Johan is a wine enthusiastic and know how to transmit his knowledge. We feel really comfortable and my Austrian friends got a nice overview about area and traditions. Really recommended!

I would highly recommend Johan for a day tour to understand more about the wine production at Requena. He is very passionate and knowledgeable about the wine making process, whats unique to the region and the challenges they face, and we learnt a lot from his sharing. What a wonderful trip to a winery just outside of Valencia city. Transportation by bus and a wonderful experience at the winery. The wine, food and meeting new people make for a fun day! Highly recommend this to all!

Writing this review while sipping my wine from our tour with Johan. What a fabulous day it was! Everything was smooth and seamless. Booking was super easy and the communication was great. Johan touched base a couple times ahead of the day just to make sure we were on track and knew where to find him when we arrived. He drove us out to the old village of Requena, where we toured a little bit of the tiny city, and then entered and spent some time in these incredible wine caves, followed by a really nice tasting. We then ventured onto a more traditional winery with a vineyard. Had a small tour as well as another very nice tasting outside at a picnic table overlooking the vineyard. And we wrapped with a traditional and delicious lunch in the village. I can’t say enough about what a fabulous day it was with Johan, our very knowledgeable and friendly host and guide. We will certainly be looking him up when we return to Valencia. In the meantime, we will enjoy the wines that we smuggled back in our suitcase to the US. :)

Johan was our driver and tour guide. His knowledge of the region and wines was exceptional. We toured a local wine cave and sampled wines from 2 different wineries. One was in center of old town and the other was in the countryside. Both tastings were educational and beautiful. Then we had lunch in town with authentic Valencian dishes and more wine!

Excellent introduction to Valencia wines. The visit to the cave and the vineyard, as well as the lunch at a local restaurant gave us a unique look into the wine culture of the area. What a great experience! Our guide was a wealth of knowledge and very friendly.. We had our 22 year old daughter and 80 year old parents with us. Everyone loved it. The places we went to were charming and authentic. The caves were so unique! The wine was delicious from both stops. Lunch I’m the village was terrific! Highly recommend.

We went with my parents who came over to Valencia. So Johan did the tour in German. It was great, he picked us up and brought us back home safely. Not only the wines were tasty but also the tapas (these were more full dishes, than something small for nibbling) We all like his experience and knowledge. He is great to talk to (not only wine) and so one gets real insights into local life. I consider the tour as expensive but well invested money :)

I booked the private wine tasting experience as a gift for my parents anniversary and tagged along as a third wheel. Although I thought it would be mostly for them, I really enjoyed learning about the different grapes from the region, the wine tasting itself of course and seeing the beautiful old town architecture and vineyard. Johan drove us to the different locations in his car. He was a great tour guide, very knowledgeable and experienced. I appreciated the communication from the get go giving helpful tips around the time of booking. Because there was a traditional festival happening and parking would be difficult we postponed the experience by a week. I would highly recommend Johan to any couples, families or group of friends who want a wine tasting experience! We will be staying in contact for this exact reason as we now have a home not too far from Valencia. We bought some boxes of wine to take home and will now have knowledge and this experience to share as stories to those we host! Don't hesitate to book! 5 stars :)

This was a fantastic way to spend a Sunday! Johan was a great guide - knowledgeable not just about Valencian wine, but also about the Valencian region and the wine industry worldwide. Plus, he was very friendly and made the whole experience enjoyable. We went to three wineries, ranging from a smaller family-owned winery all the way up to a much larger, high-volume, very modern operation. It was fascinating to see the variety. We started off with a quick tour of Requena and then moved on to a tour of the caves at the Murviedro winery’s museum. It was really fascinating. We got an extensive tour of the production facility at Chozas Carrascal as well as the beautiful homestead - my guess is, not something included on every tour of this winery. Our tour wrapped up with a lovely lunch at another winery - which featured really good quality Spanish tapas dishes - and lots of wine, of course! I would wholeheartedly recommend this tour - our friends who went with us were doing it for the second time, and I would definitely do it again.

Johan was very knowledgeable and really made the experience! I’m so glad I used this service. We got to see two wineries, enjoy tastings, and see a lot of the “behind the scenes” more so than normal winery visits.

We went on the Valencia Wine Tour with Johan in late November 2022. Johan was an amazing tour guide and his knowledge about the history of this wine country as well as the wine itself was excellent! We had a fabulous time. I wish I could post the picture of my niece and I sleeping on the way back from our tour, taking a cat nap after our day drinking :-) I recommend booking this trip. 5 stars!
