Great tour- we felt very safe - the guides were wonderful. It was very interesting to meet the local families and witness local customs . Totally recommend the tour.

Local Buddy Tours are a fantastic company. We are a UK family of four, our two teenagers were a little nervous about going on the scooters but Thanh and his three fellow riders were amazing. Very professional, reassuring, safe and fun, they took us to local homes to see a taste of village life. We helped to fry rice paper, and weave traditional sleeping mats. We saw a boat temple dedicated to whales, we went crab fishing by boat, we saw a beautiful vegetable farm at sunset, and finished at a magical restaurant overlooking all the lanterns on the river. It's clear Thanh and the team have much respect for the local people. Special shout out to Lanh for his great information. This tour is highly recommended!

We recently went on 4 private tours with Ben and his team of guides at Local Buddy Tours (Hoi An Walking Tour, Countryside by Motorbike, My Son by US Army Jeep, Full day at Marble/Monkey Mountains, Hai Van Pass and mountain spring/waterfalls). The experiences we had on those days were the highlights of our trip. We got to see the real Vietnam, meet the locals, visit their houses, try making rice noodles, weaving mats, making lanterns and generally see things that the average tourist doesn't. Our main guides were Happy-Tea, Sunny and Ben (supported by the rest of the team - drivers, bike riders and more), all very knowledgeable and passionate locals who were very excited to show us their town and people. Local Buddy Tours is a very well run operation, making sure we saw as much as we could, but also being very flexible based on our family's specific needs, energy levels and weather conditions. Local Buddy also supports locals who want to earn English and we spent an enjoyable Sunday morning with a group of his students at a local cafe, helping them get used to our Aussie/English accents! This was the best tour we have done in vietnam, such a privelege to visit people in their homes and share experiences and stories, topped off with a huge fresh set menu meal. Our guides were so patient and attentive with cold drinks on hand. Weaving through the back villages and fields in amongst the local families.

This tour was one on my highlights in Vietnam. As a 59year old female and doing this tour by myself I felt very comfortable and safe with Thanh in his presence and on the back of his bike. Thanh could speak excellent English and did not rush anything at all. It was great having hands on experience when visiting all the places and the locals were also very friendly. We did everything promised on the itinerary and the dinner we had at the end really did exceed my expectations. I will definitely recommend LOCAL BUDDY TOURS to my family and friends and will be sure to do another tour with them when I return to Vietnam one day. Thanks Thanh your a gem!

Fantastic experience. Felt like we saw the real Vietnam. Off the beaten track and could only be done by motorbike. Thanh was great guide with excellent English. We were not experienced on bikes but felt safe and comfortable. Highly recommend.

We were on the Private tour - Hoi An Villages Experience By Motorbikes with Carol and Sang. They were outstanding!! We had an amazing time. Carol and Sang were excellent drivers. They took us to some terrific sites; we had an excellent time with them. We would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Carol and Sang. They were super tour guides.

We had a great day out with our guides , they were so nice and friendly !! We got to see things we absolutely wouldn’t have been able to if we did it ourself . It was my friends birthday and our beautiful guide carol took us for a delicious Vietnamese coffee as a special treat . Very lovely . Highly recommend.

The tour was an amazing experience! The pickup was convenient and the cold water provided was much appreciated. Riding pillion with the experienced driver was thrilling. The tour stops were all breathtaking and offered a true glimpse into local Vietnamese life. The staff were incredibly friendly and spoke great English, making communication easy and enjoyable. Had a great day with our three guides! When we first asked for the experience during Tet, we were told ‘no’, then the office wrote back and said they had ‘reconsidered’ and would be able to put a tour together. We really appreciated their honesty about the importance of their holiday and effort to create a tour around their schedule. Loved going to local homes/businesses to learn about traditional businesses - learned about making rice pancakes and straw mats. We went to a boat shaped temple where fisherman hope for safe travels and there are some whale bones stored. We crossed many types of bridges throughout the day. We went to a small canal to ride in a basket boat and fished/hunted for small crabs. We also meet 'Lo' the water buffalo and we each got a short ride. We saw fish and shrimp farms and many types of vegetable gardens and crops. What a busy and adventurous day of learning and experiences. We made new friends with our guides, learned much about Vietnam food and traditions and had many laughs. Yes, you should do this too!

We absolutely LOVED this tour around the Hoi An villages on motorbikes. We’re on a four-week holiday in Vietnam and this was hands down the highlight for us. We cannot recommend this tour and our guide, Thanh, more highly. I’m travelling with my parents who are in their 70s and Thanh and his team took excellent care of us - especially my mother, who was initially hesitant about the motorbikes, buffalo, etc. But Thanh and the team immediately put her at ease and she can’t stop talking about how much fun she had! The motorbike drivers are very experienced and we all felt very safe on the bikes. We love that this tour supports and gives back to local villages and people, and we got to truly experience local life, crafts, and trades with some of the loveliest people we’ve ever met. Everything is impeccably organised, informative, interesting, and fun! Thank you to Thanh, his team, and Local Buddy Tours for such an incredible and memorable experience.

It’s hard to highlight anything specifically because every moment was wondrous and invigorating. We met many local craftspeople who shared what they do and enjoyed teaching us. The adventures never stopped. Tank and Carol are committed to supporting people in their community, learning about what they are creating and then teaching us. We spent many hours on the motorbike itself, which was so much fun- going over rivers and through rice fields, villages and farms. We got all our questions answered with enthusiasm and perfect English. I was in Vietnam for 3 weeks and this was definitely one of my highlights. It was the closest I felt to understand the life of a Vietnamese family living in a small village. I would give it ten stars for quality, fun, educational and authentic. Thank you!!

it wasnt the first trip with local buddy tours, but by far the best so far. ben took us with an army jeep from hoi an to da nang, then over the scenic hai van pass to the blue lagoon. from there we went to a waterfall and spent the afternoon. one of the most beautiful places we have ever been to!!! the fresh water, the view, the people, the food, absolutely fantastic. we highly recommend this operator with his tailor made tours.

This is one of the best things I have ever done on a holiday . Tu was fantastic-very friendly, knowledge *& accomodating. it was fun, and we learnt so much about the people and life in Vietnam that we wouldnt have ever seen otherwise. I couldn't recommend this tour enough!

We enjoyed all the day with experiences among locals and with wind in the hair on motorbike. We saw, among other things, how to make rice wine, sailed in bamboo boat and had delicious lunch. Our children of 8,11 and 11 were at the back of the guide and two other experienced drivers. The adults was driving at there own motorbike. Very funny! The guide spoke very good English. I highly recommend this wonderful trip.

Me wife and I had been recommended this tour by a number of friends who had previously experienced it. We can’t talk highly enough of our tour guide Ben, the friendliest and most knowledgeable tour guide we have ever had. We went by scooter round the local villages of Hoi An and visited a man who builds fishing boats from bamboo,a family who weave mats by hand and an organic farm where we had a delicious lunch. This tour really was top notch and we will be recommending to anyone who is in the area. Would 100% do again! Thanks again Ben!

This has been one of our favourite days on our Vietnam trip. Tu was our tour guide and Dung our second driver and they were both incredible. Very careful and skilled drivers on the moped/motorbike and we felt 100% safe at all times. The trip gets you out of the hustle and bustle of busy and touristy Hoi An and into the authentic villages where people work extremely hard to make their living. You get a taste of what life is like for the locals. The price of the tour is extremely reasonable, especially considering the 6 course meal you end with which was absolute icing on the cake. You should 100% do this tour whilst in Hoi An!
