Being guided through Petra’s wondrous sights by Ismail was a unique experience. His knowledge and generosity of spirit added so much to the day. I recommend him highly.

We met Ismail a day before the tour, and he was so welcoming to explain us many details about options in Petra. He suggested starting early for a better experience, and that was truely perfect. The city wasn't crowded and the light over the place was amazing. Ismail wasn't only a story teller, but more of a host that takes care about every single step during the tour. We spent around 6 hours exploring, and barely was enough to see beautiful Petra. If you are travelling to Jordan, your Petra has to be with him. Thank you for everything Ismail!

Today we visited Petra and the experience could not have been so magical and impressive without Ismail as our tour guide. Starting from the back door on our way to the Monastery (we would recommend taking the back door entrance), he told us all the stories about the civilization of the Nabataeans in Petra back in the days, making sure to tell and also show us all the little details that you would easily miss visiting Petra on your own. Book a tour with Ismail if you want a day to remember! Not only by the impressive Petra itself, but even more due to all the stories and extra details Ismail gives you! We would highly recommend!

Where to begin, Ismael was an outstanding tour guide ! My wife and I have previously done private tours with guides in other cities (Istanbul and Athens), so we have some experience spending a day with a tour guide. Ismael was simply amazing the best. He catered the tour (6 hours) to our interests, was incredibly knowledgeable about Petra, and navigated us through the most amazing journey from the Treasury to the Monastery. Petra was amazingly empty during our time here and Ismael helped us take advantage of the lack of crowds. Beyond explaining the rich and mysterious history of Petra, he has old photos and videos to show how it has changed over time and how natural disasters affect it. Before choosing Ismael I read his overwhelmingly positive reviews and the the odd negative ones (they are either not about him or about a negative experience a visitor had here… although I’m not sure How one could not be blown away by Petra). My wife and I had a great day with Ismael as our guide.

The tour with Ismail was amazing, due to work, my parents and me had a very short time to visit Petra. Few minutes after book the tour. Ismail contacted me to costume our tour based on our necessities. He did an excellent job. My parents and me agreed that with Ismail our visit to Petra have been different than if we had came by our own.

Being an advert traveller who rarely writes reviews (cos I’m lazy), for me to take the time and effort to pen down a review, the guide is either SUPERB or extremely terrible; and Ismail is one of the best guides I have ever had 💕 His in-depth knowledge, extensive experience, compassion, understanding and generosity is beyond this world. From all the smallest details and the biggest picture, he takes care of every thing. Had the best tour in Jordan and I would definitely recommend him to everyone who needs a guide there. We landed in Jordan quite late at night and Ismail still came and meet up with us even though it was for a short 10 minutes to introduce himself. I think that was a very nice gesture, he could have sent the driver and meet us up the next day. Throughout our tour in Jordan and Petra, Ismail is super friendly, humorous too and a very sincere person. He also knows where to take nice pictures and helps us to take them too. When we were at the treasury, he also shares with us how that place looks like when it was raining etc (showed us pics in his mobile). Overall it was a very pleasant tour and I think having a good guide is also very important. Highly recommend to get Ismail as your guide if you want to have a nice time !

We had an amazing Petra Backdoor hike with Ismail. I was a bit nervous about doing the hike as I am not the fittest and warned Ismail I would be slow and hoped he was patient! Well he certainly was patient, and encouraging during the hike, sharing facts and information about the history and d surroundings as we made our way to the Monastery. Ismail has a very pleasant disposition and a sense of humour and it really added to our experience. One of the most unforgettable experiences in my life to date! Shukran Ismail!

Do not sleep on Jordan right now! We visited earlier this month and count not have asked for a better experience. During. Our time in Amman and Petra we never experienced safety concerns nor did we feel the impact of the surrounding conflicts. Ismail is an absolute gem of a guide. He was an excellent communicator during the planning process and checked in frequently to make sure all of the necessary paperwork was filled out. Prior to arriving he assisted in setting up early morning transport to and from Amman. Ismail provided an incredible amount of history in the time he guided us through Petra (8am-2pm). He provided so much information on the people, culture, religion, history, influence, and mythology of the area. His storytelling made the experience memorable. He was patient with all of our questions and frequent picture stops, even providing some skilled suggestions behind the camera to ensure we got the perfect shots. We did not leave the tour feeling like anything was missed. Ismael did an excellent job offering and guiding us through every side trek option and additional historical tidbit available to us. Information aside, Ismail was very personable, professional, and funny, which made all the difference for our family of four on this trip.

Ismail was absolutely amazing. I would recommend this trip and this tour to everyone that wants an experience that can't be duplicated. Ismail has knowledge of the area and history that was captivating and enjoyable even to a non-history person such as myself. For my husband though it was a tour of a lifetime - he soaked up all the history and information. Ismail was patient while we hauled our butts up the 800 steps. He was funny and surprised us with quips and stories along the way. It was like taking a trip with an old friend. For those of you that are cancelling due to the conflict - please reconsider as it is amazing to be in Petra with only a few hundred people. The area is safe. We stayed in Amman and drove the distance to Petra - toured Petra and then ate in the town (which btw... food was fabulous). Take advantage of the lull in traveling and see this world wonder like very few get to see it - we have canyon pictures with no people - WOW just WOW. We didn't have to start at 6am to get good pictures. We started around 9am. Ismail thank you making this trip truly memorable!! Everyone should book with Ismail and check Petra off the bucket list.

To say that this was one of the best tours of my life would be an understatement, and it was all possible largely due to Ismail. Ismail truly made our Petra experience spectacular. He was very knowledgeable about the history, culture, and fun of Petra. From giving a realistic view of Petra to capturing the best photographic spots, Ismail did it all. Ismail is the best guide one can hope for. Sheer professional, with an excellent passion for Petra which he is proud to call home. Ismail greeted us at our hotel and gave us an entire tour of both the front and back of Petra. His knowledge is second to none and also took us off path to create a short hike of our own. Something I will never forget. He is an excellent photographer and videographer as well and will get your shots for Instagram upon your visit to Petra. 1. Exchange cash in home country. Buy only visa, buy jordan pass when in jordan and cash. It will show 80 jd on line but once u pay it I'll be 100 dollar. So travel with jd don't use ATM its massive duty. Monzo card is scam. 2. Negotiate text and hotel don't pay blindly. Give big notes and keep lots of 1 JDs. Learn to say no. 3. Donot eat where your guide takes you. Buy lunch from small roadside shops. 4.if breakfast free ask manager to pack your breakfast.make your own sandwiches take tuna tins plus mayo 5. From petra information centre to treasury come by free cart ride. From treasury to monestary is very very difficult walk. If you are not good with knees don't attempt it. From monestarty come back same route backwards. Don't listen to tourist guides. It's all lies. 6. If coming from information centre towards little petra there are just few things to see. But come in free coach. But do not try to reach monestary from here. Tour guide will make you fool. Its 6 hours of walk. Yes 6 HOURS. 7. On way back hire a can straight to hotel don't walk. 8. Petra to aman taxi is 60 jd , don't pay extea, bargain they will die for you. Just learn to say no. 9. Tomb of aron is no go area. If you can afford chopper only then otherwise don't even think of it
