The history was so rich and affirming. Our tour guides, Sofia and Carlos, were amazing. Everyone was so welcoming. It felt like a return home.

Everything about this experience was simply amazing! Victor was our tour guide. He picked us up from our Airbnb on time and even gave us a little lesson in his native language on our way to Palenque. We were greeted with warm smiles from the natives and even got the chance to witness a tradition funeral as we arrived. Upon arrival, they gave us a coconut, bottle of water, an umbrella and a welcome shot of whiskey before starting the tour. The culture, the food and the people were nothing short of amazing. Victor provided us with a home cooked meal made by his cousin and it was flavorful and filling. Pale Tur is family owned and operated, natives of Palenque and guided by Victor and his family themselves.. PLEASE DO THIS TOUR, you won't be disappointed.

I am so thankful that I got to experience Palenque and learn about the history. The trip was a great price- it included a round-trip drive from my hotel in Cartagena, a private tour, and lunch. You have the opportunity to tip at houses along the way and buy handmade things at the end, so bring extra bills.

Danilo was our tour guide in Palenque. He was very professional and gave us a very good insight on the history and importance of this place as the very first town to be free from slavery in the Americas. We walked with him for about an hour and we had the opportunity to interact with people in the community and to learn about little Africa. Historically, it is an important place to visit. In you are interested in learning about other cultures, and the history of the freedom of slaves in America, Palenque is a place to visit.

Mi experiencia visitando San Basilio de Palenque fue absolutamente fenomenal. La gente fue muy acogedora y amable, la comida era tan fresca y deliciosa, y el sabor de la historia y la cultura afrolatina era tan hermoso. La danza entre las culturas sudamericana y africana, tanto del pasado como del presente, fue magnífica de contemplar. Nuestro anfitrión y guía turístico, Víctor, estaba muy familiarizado con la historia y claramente era una parte integral de la cultura de la comunidad. Estuvo atento a las necesidades del grupo y respondió nuestras preguntas con facilidad. También hizo preguntas a nuestro grupo que alentaron una cuidadosa reflexión sobre nuestras propias vidas y las experiencias de aquellos en Palenque también. El tiempo en Palenque ofreció una profundidad de perspectiva a nuestra visita a Colombia que fue insustituible. Recomiendo encarecidamente visitar este sitio declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO y permitir que la empresa de turismo Paletur facilite esta extraordinaria experiencia. Excelente experiencia. Tuvimos la oportunidad de compartir con los lugareños, se contagia el orgullo que tienen de las raíces africanas. La casa de la cultura demuestra, por medio de la danza, el canto y la interpretación de instrumentos, la importancia de fomentar la apropiación de la cultura. Mi familia y yo nos sentimos muy a gusto. Un saludo especial para Danilo y su equipo desde Villavicencio.

Fue una experiencia muy grata, Danilo y su equipo han tenido en cuenta los detalles para que la visita sea amena y muy enriquecedora. Me agrado mucho que además de la danza, el almuerzo (muy delicioso por cierto), la historia, la bebida típica, la medicina natural, han pensado en cosas como prestar sombrillas para el recorrido, botellas de agua para hidratar a todos visitantes del grupo y la vajilla muy artesanal, dan un toque especial y único a la visita. Excelente servicio, recomendado 100%.

Les recomiendo realizar el tour con don Danilo y su empresa Paletour no se arrepentirán. Nos sentimos muy bien atendidos nos realizaron muestra de baila, nos enseñaron frases comunes en su idioma, nos dieron a degustar su bebida tradicional, de almuerzo fue un plato típico muy rico y muchas cosas mas.

Es un tour muy completo nos enseñaron de sus costumbres, su lengua, sus bailes, su comida, su cultura y la historia de su pueblo. ¡Les recomiendo tomar el tour con comida incluida es deliciosa! Don Danilo vive en Palenque así que conoce ama y conoce muy bien su pueblo y su gente; se preocupa por brindar el mejor servicio y la mejor experiencia, estuvimos muy contentos.

Nos prestaron sombrillas, nos dieron agua, el almuerzo fue exquisito, el recorrido, charlas y espectáculos fueron geniales. No dejen pasar la oportunidad de conocer San bacilio de la mano de Paletur. La comida, la exposición histórica y cultural fue súper. Por tiempo nos faltó ver una demostración de boxeo.
