We thoroughly enjoyed an evening boat ride on our first night in Porto. Antonio was the BEST HOST!! His mom was also a delight! Would highly recommend!

Paulo was an outstanding guide and captain during our two-hour boat trip from the marina to the entrance to the Atlantic Ocean. He provided a lot of insight about the river, and as a fisherman he was able to tell us what to order at restaurants for the freshest catch and what to avoid because it is out of season. He was very accommodating and offered to position the boat in several directions to take photos of us with Porto in the background. If you are wavering on whether to do the tour because of the price it is very much worth it. We felt sorry for the tourists crammed on the larger boats with pre-recorded commentary. Request Paulo - he’s great!

We were placed on comfortable sit cussions like fatboys... after 30 min we were offered a typical vino Verde- which was really exklusive e and very Tastatur. All in we learned a lot about the Region, wine and local culture...Antonio and his friend made this a very special sunset Trip...

My wife and I decided to treat ourselves to a private boat cruise along the Douro River in late April 2024, and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice. Opting for a private cruise at €165, rather than the standard €18 motorized boat tours, significantly enhanced our experience. Our captain, Paulo, was the highlight of our trip. Previously a fisherman, Paulo’s deep knowledge of the river added a rich, personal touch to our cruise. He shared fascinating stories about his life in Porto, his family, and the cultural shifts happening due to international investments. His warm and welcoming nature made us feel like we were old friends, catching up rather than customers on a tour. The two-hour journey was not just a trip along the beautiful Douro, but a delightful immersion into local life and lore. The serene waters, coupled with Paulo’s expert navigation and engaging conversation, made for a truly memorable experience. We highly recommend Paulo and this private boat cruise to anyone visiting Porto. It’s a splendid way to see the river and the city from a unique and intimate perspective. The price might be higher than the riverfront motorized boats, but the personal touch and tranquility of the journey are well worth it.

Amazing! Daniel, our captain and co-owner of this small but growing business, was so hospitable, knowledgeable and engaging. 10 out of 10. It was such a unique way to experience the city from the water with just me and my husband with the great company of our captain. My partner and I travel a lot. We have had the wonderful fortune to have taken other private tours and this was by far one of the best. It's simple, with just the tour guide/ boat driver (in our case Daniel), a small boat with bean bags for chairs and us. Daniel could not have been more personable telling us childhood stories of fishing, historical points of interest and recommendations during our stay in Porto. So, take a cab to the marina and enjoy this magical experience with a local. Awesome experience!

Paolo and his son Antonio were the most fantastic hosts. We loved getting to know about their culture, they answered all our questions and we really enjoyed their company. They were patient and kind to the kids (7+4), including them in conversation. The green wine was absolutely delicious and the whole trip made our time in Porto. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic trip - we were well looked after by an experienced father and son duo, who were very knowledgeable about the area and the river. We learned so much and got the benefit of their local insight. A real great experience on a comfortable, spacious boat. Local wine, beer and soft drinks available on board, to add to the experience. I would definitely recommend this trip for a more personalised experience.

Had a GREAT TIME on this tour. Learned a lot about Porto, history and current events. This was far better than a tour with many people and no guide to speak to. Also includes local wine and almonds :). Highly recommend!!

Pleasant boat ride along the Duoro River to the opening of the Atlantic. Great activity if you are looking for a relaxing activity. We were expecting more of a guided ride. Enjoyed the green wine that was provided and the fabulous weather. Our captain even made dinner reservations for us at an authentic Portuguese fish restaurant in Matahinos.

Obvioulsy the views on the Douro and our friendly guide Daniel who told us lovely interesting stories about the history of the location with wine and local almond treats.
