David Arce was an excellent guide and he is also a dedicated family man and intelligent entrepreneur. He showed us the hidden gems of Mexico that people rarely get to see. Although Mexico suffers from violence, there is so much culture, community, and resilience in the Mexican people that David showed us. Additionally, there are so many beautiful nature treks near the Lake Chapala area where we got to see the beauty and kindness of the indigenous culture.

Excellent private tour with the best tour guide, Fernando (the driver was amazing too, sorry dont have his name)!! He was very knowledgeable about the history as well as the process. Our goal was to have a real conversation and learn and he exceeded our expectation. We were not there to get drunk but to experience the most amazing artisanal Tequilas far from the tourist mess. We are Cava de Oro fans and the visit was absolutely amazing

Fernando and Polo were amazing tour guides. They picked us up from the hotel right on time and communicated with me prior to their arrival. They had waters and sodas waiting for us in the van. It was about an hour drive from Guadalajara to the first distillery. Fernando explained the entire tequila distilling process to us, easily answered all of our questions and was extremely knowledgable. Fernando and Polo taught us how to properly taste tequila and made sure everyone was having a good time. They gladly took any photos of our group that we asked. We went to a second distillery, followed by lunch at a local place that they recommended. While our group could speak some Spanish, Fernando easily communicated our needs to the restaurant staff. We ended the tour by visiting some Agave fields. We truly had such a great experience with Fernando and Polo, I would highly recommend this private tour to anyone wanting a more private, hands on experience. If we are ever in Guadalajara again, I will definitely rebook with them!

David, our private tour guide, was courteous, professional and very knowledgeable about Tequila’s growth & production as well as the town’s history. We thoroughly enjoyed the distilleries we visited, and the taste testings. The distilleries are medium to smaller in production size which allowed more time to know their products. At the larger distilleries, you would not have that luxury. We highly recommend this tour with David! 10 Stars rating!!

The tour was awesome! Fernando is very knowledgeable not only about tequila and the distilling process but also about history of the area. We had a tight timeline and he worked around our schedule which was amazing! He took us to the most fabulous lunch spot, which had very authentic carnitas. I highly recommend the tour!! From the day we arrived, the service was incredible. Polo picked us up from and to the airport on time. The next morning we toured a couple of Tequila distilleries. It was a fun and memorable experience. The following day we enjoyed a tour of Guadalajara and Tlaquepaque. We had a great time with Fernando and Polo. My boyfriend hurt his knee before the trip and they were both so careful and considerate to make sure we went at our own pace but still received the full experience. Both were super nice and empathetic and most importantly, super knowledgeable! We were lucky enough to meet one of the owners of a local tequila and the owner of one of the distilleries. They also gave us so many wonderful recommendations for local places and even checked in on us after the tour was over. This tour with Fernando was the best tiur I have ever been on . He and his driver "William" not only knew yhe land and the people but were well versed in the history , politics and economic issues of the land, the peppke and tequila. Very impessive!!!

Fernando was actually a few minutes early picking us up for our tour. The moment we began our trip in a private van for the 5 of us, Fernando was very flexible. If need be, stop to get breakfast (it’s important to have something in your belly before you begin tasting!). We had already eaten, so we were on our way. That’s when great conversation began. We learned about the different areas of Guadalajara and then the tequila we would be tasting. We went to two different, boutique distilleries and learned about the entire process, from planting to bottling to exporting. We even learned a great technique for tasting! After our second tasting, Fernando asked if we’d like to go to a traditional market for lunch. We had some great local food and even a mariachi serenade! There was was an option for a third tequileria after our mini tour of the adorable town of Tequila. Our 20-somethings were pooped out, so we opted to head back. It was sunset, so Fernando even offered to stop near an agave field for a pic for the parents (the only ones willing to get out of the car at that point). Overall, it was a fantastic trip that we definitely recommend to family and friends! Oh, and if you’re curious, Fernando’s command of English is excellent!

Fernando and Guillermo were amazing. Fernando had researched and studied the tequila industry extensively and has developed very deep relationships with the owners. We went to Cava de Oro and Casa Marengo, which are both Artisanal Distilleries. Both visits were excellent and educational. We learned so much more on our full-day adventure than just tequila. We were never rushed in the least and feel like we develop new friends.

I booked this tour for a group of friends over Thanksgiving weekend. It was our first time in Tequila country, and it was exactly what we wanted. Fernando was a great guide, along with Rocio. It truly was a private tour experience - we didnt encounter any other groups. We moved at our own pace and Fernando adjusted the itinerary accordingly. Highly recommend!

I have been on many tours covering diverse locations -- this tour with Fernando as our guide was the best I have been on!! There were 9 of us -- mostly chemists -- and Fernando was extremely knowledgeable about the technical details of tequila production yet presented them in a highly informative and interesting format. He came to our place on time. When we mentioned that we had been to one of the distilleries listed on the day's itinerary he seamlessly and immediately changed course and took to one we had not been to. Just an all around great day in a beautiful part of the world. A great value for the money and a must for any serious tequila lover that wants to bypass the more commercial distilleries for the smaller artisanal ones.
