Myself and my husband did the 1 day private tour on the salt flats at $235 per person (discounted as we were staying at Jardines de Uyuni). The tour guide Dioni was fantastic. Really liked him, very friendly and knowledgeable. The tour itself is great and locations are fantastic. Lunch was amazing: quinoa, corn, beef, chicken, sweet potato, dried lama, amazing sauces. A lot of food!!! Doing a private tour is an advantage as you take great photos without any 'intruders'. :) The reasons I rated it 4 not 5 stars: - I think it's too expensive for what you get, also considering the cost of living in Bolivia - water was not supplied for the entire tour (only for lunch). So we had to stop and I bought some water myself. - the jeep is quite old (had a cassette player!) and the air con wasn't working well. Back vents were not working at all. We were a bit hot at the back. - for lunch the only drink options were water and Sprite. Considering the tour is so expensive I would have expected a small selection (such as Coke or fresh juices). Or they could ask what people would prefer to drink before the tour. - the wine at the sunset is cute but I don't drink alcohol. No other drink was offered to me then.

One the most amazing trips we have ever done! Hidalgo tours offered us an excellent service. Day 1: They pick us up at the border with Chile (Hito Cajon) and from there we drove through the Bolivian altiplano and stopping in the lagoons (Blanca, verde and colorada). Guimer our drove a very comfortable 4x4. He is an excellent driver! Calm and confident. The roads where off road! On the other hand Jenny our guide was also excellent, knowledgeable, always ready to answer our questions and also very sweet and nice person. Day 2 we carried out through the altiplano and they took us to amazing places never seen before. It was like being in another planet. The 2 last night where in Palacio de Sal Hotel. 10/10. Big rooms, big bathroom, clean, comfortable, amazing! Day 3 we went to the Uyuni flat which is literally beside the hotel. We had lunch in the middle of the flat with no one around, we visited all the sites within the flat and at the evening they took us to the wet part of the flat to see the sunset. Absolutely stunning! We had bolivian red wine and we enjoyed the most amazing views we have ever seen! Finally, we fully recommend Hidalgo Tours! Before arriving Pedro Pablo who sold us the package was always available to answer our questions and doubts. He also always gave us the right advise !

This your was amazing and our guide Isaac was the best. Not only did he speak excellent English but also his knowledge of the area was amazing. Isaac went out of his way to be helpful and we had a great time. The places we stayed — such as the Palacio Del Sal was also amazing. This is definitely a your we can recommend for those wanting to see Uyuni, the Slat Flats, Potosi, and Sucre.

We did the tour with a big group of 50 people and everything was very nice and well organized. The were English and Spanish speaking guides and a very good lunch was served in the middle of the salt flats.

The tour was rushed, they served cold food, at the end of day and while waiting for the sunset the tour guide Zenón asked me to chug my wine cause he wanted to leave…. This was the worst tour experience ever

Antonio & Jose made us a day we will never forget. Every little detail was close to perfection. The way they set up lunch at a location we could not see anybody else in 360 degree horizon. Fantastic.

Would highly recommend this company to anyone looking at visiting Uyuni. Víctor was an incredibly informative guide as well as being a near professional photographer, his photo recommendations and service were exceptional. When I eventually return I will most definitely be re-booking with Hidalgo and requesting Victor as my guide. Lunch provided was delicious and the overall tour was great value. We opted for the full day including sunset which did not disappoint. The views were exceptional, it was an experience we will never forget!!

The experience was amazing. We had a private tour and we did it in a different schedule so we got to enjoy every place just for our selves. I've done the tour before but this just tops it all. The tour in English also was very helpful. Lo

We did a private full-day tour of the Salar de Uyuni with Hidalgo Tours, visiting the trains' cemetery, Palacio de Sal Hotel, Colchani, Incahuasi Island, and Pucura Ayque. We had a fantastic day with our professional, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and fun guide, Jhenny , and driver. We had a great time with Jhenny taking pictures of us being attacked by dinosaurs, etc. and enjoyed a fantastic lunch and sunset wine and cheese on the Salar. We highly recommend this trip. Thanks guys for such a great day!

This was a very unique experience for us. The private tour guides took us to the largest salt flat in the world by using his 4x4 SUV, they even set up a nice table for us to eat lunch in the middle of the salt flat. Seeing our reflections and watching sunset were such an unforgettable moments in our life.

I did not care very much of the Cemetery of Trains, now old and dilapidated. Edgar our tour guide explained that about 20 years ago the trains were in good condition. From there we spent the day in El Salar de Uyuni. Next time I am going to spend more time in the Salar, taking panoramic pictures and stopping for longer periods of time in some interesting places. There is this region where some holes have developed and from where something like boiling water comes to the surface. It is actually very cold salty water, that has some medicinal purpose. Because it was still mid morning the sun was up but the cold was still very present. I touched the water and my hand got frozen, and became white. Afterwards my skin got very soft. Again some holes have different coloration, some are red , some yellow and some white. A proof of the different minerals that exist in the Salar. From there we preceded to the Dakar monument (made of salt) took pictures and then went inside the First Salt Hotel made in the Salar. (no longer used as a hotel instead it became a museum and now used as a place to have lunch. Tables and chairs are made of salt.) The food you eat is provided by each tour company. Ours was still warm and delicious. My mom is vegetarian and they prepared special food for her. We had quinoa, boiled vegetables and pieces of chicken as the main dish, we had bananas for dessert. Water and coke. Then we went to see the only island that can be visited Incawasi.

Spectacular adventure with Hidalgo tours (via our tour company). Starting with the Train cemetery (separate review), followed by drive to Salt Flats. Our guide Al was amazing and made the experience so memorable; taking crazy pictures for us. This was followed by a picnic, which was so lovely and everything had been considered including hand sanitiser, dessert and hot drinks. This was followed by another awesome adventure hiking up Cacti filled Incahuasi Island. I highly recommend good walking shoes or trainers as some parts are steep but well worth the climb up to view the very old cacti and views. We missed out on the museum due to adverse weather but managed to observe flamingos and made it back to the Salt mines at sunset. Highly recommend extra clothes/ layers as it got so cold so quickly (you can always remove layers and leave them in the car). An awesome Bolivian adventure!

There were 7 of us so we had two cars and one guide for our 3 day 2 night tour. We saw so much and really enjoyed it all. Completely unforgettable experience. The rock formations, flora and fauna were amazing. Imagine thousands of pink flamingoes on a lake. The salt flats are surreal guess that's why they were chosen to be the site of the planet Creton in the Last Jedi which just begins to show the beauty. We were there in July so we did not experience the full magic of water ontop of the flats but that's ok. The historical insight gained from the Cemetery of the Trains proves once again that corporations sometimes decide international boundaries for self serving reasons. The guides and drivers have seen it all and know what to do in emergencies--sadly we saw a truck driver on the side of the road that had been killed when his truck fell on top of him--the staff whipped out the satellite phone and dutifully reported the incident; our condolences to the truck drivers family. This is wild isolated country and anything can happen which is part of the thrill. There was freshly fallen snow and some of the roads were closed so we went off road and actually got lost but found shortly after--wild and not scripted. The Salt Palace hotel was great but the Jardines de Mallku Cueva not so great and out in the middle of nowhere. Love Fish Isle. The town of Uyuni is quite interesting and would have liked to have spend a second night at the Salt Palace hotel to explore Uyuni a little bit more. Wonderful food, wonderful people. First class! Thank you all.

We did a two day tour for 5 of us and it was excellent. We had Isaac as our guide. He was professional and very safety conscious. We had two vehicles because they don't like to squash you in as there is alot of driving. From the arrangements made with the office, the guide, drivers and food it was exceptional. I spent alot of time researching tour companies becsuse you generally only come to a place like this once. I wasnt dissapointed. Highly recommended
