This was a great tour of Haines and the local area. Pat K. was our tour guide. We saw so many eagles. He would stop often and even turning around when he spotted an eagle next to the shore. Small group size of 12 made it more personable. Easy tour that made great use of the 3 hours.

Kim Clune was amazing! We really enjoyed our day with her and saw so much wildlife. Highly recommend this tour to all photographers visiting the area to see animals and scenery.

Joe was great! He was very patient with my husband and I and our lack of knowledge about our cameras/phones. Yet he took us to places and let us loose to get some great shots and views. Then helped us see where we could make the shot better. He answered any questions we had on photography and about Haines.

My wife and I booked the 4-hour private Chilkat Photography Tour. Our guide, David, is an experienced photographer with a cyclopedic knowledge of the area. He took us to several of the scenic locations around Haines and was solicitous to answer any question we might have, whether about photo technique or the subject of the shot. While I had my own gear, I was grateful he brought a sturdy tripod that I used for a particular long shot. My only regret is that I did not have a longer lens—200 mm is just not enough reach for some of the wildlife shots I wanted to get. I am quite happy with several of the landscape images, though.

It was a good experience, the excellent guide, with a great career as a photographer his name is Cindy Shultz, he took me to the best places, the only thing that wildlife is unpredictable, we could see the eagle in the trees and hopefully before the end of the tour, a bear went out to the river. For running away because my ship was already leaving, I left some of my photography equipment, which kindly they called me and sent it to my house without any charge

While booked through my Seabourn cruise, I was fortunate to only have one other person on my tour with Cindy. We had a marvelous 3 hours, visiting different sights and benefiting from personal guidance. I was excited to be able to share "my original photo" and the "one I ended up with", after Cindy's questions and recommendations. I knew this was a worthwhile tour when my millennial son told me one of my shots was spectacular! We saw eagles, forest vegetation, totem poles and breathtaking water-mountain views. It was a wonderful morning.

My mom and I did the photography tour with Paul and he was great. We only had 6 people in our tour so we all had plenty of opportunities to ask questions and troubleshoot with Paul. He took us to some great locations and it was wonderful to be able to learn from experience as opposed to just sitting in a classroom. I feel like my photography improved a lot just from the few hours in this class. I would definitely recommend this to anyone interested in photography.

I scheduled a private photography tour with Paul. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and really helpful when taking photos. He took me to some great locations that tourists don't visit and I felt like I got to see the "real" Alaska I got some amazing landscape photos as well as pictures of bald eagles. This was easily the best excursion of any cruise I have ever been on and cannot recommend highly enough. Phenominal experience!

We booked this excursion via the ship (Azamara Quest). It was a very small group - just 6 of us. Not very homogenous, as there were big differences in photographic equipment (from cellphones to "very good" SLR cameras) and also in experience. But our guide - Cindy Schultz - was excellent. She brought us to beautiful spots and pointed out the best views ( and wildlife). Also let all of us benefit from her expertise, without trying to impose her ideas. Nice suggestions and tips - for the SLR as well as the cellphones users. Altogether it were lovely 4 hours. Highly recommended!

Joe from Rainbow Glacier Adventures picked me up at the hotel and took me along for a whole-day tour of photography. He had even brought snowshoes in case we would take a little hike.... According to my request he took me to all the places where the movie "White Fang" was filmed - Joe has a very well-founded knowledge of the area and of wildlife and nature, as well of all the connections and backgrounds - he has lived in the area for more than 30 years. I had a great day, and Joe was just the perfect guide - very friendly, very committed, customizing the tour to my requests, being very flexible and accomodating, yet giving me a lot of personal space to process the impressions of the trip.... A perfect day, and I highly recommend Joe and his company - I will definitely book them again!
