was planning a trip to Sri Lanka pre Covid and had spoken to Gihan previously. As we had to cancel it due to travel restrictions . As soon as I knew that we were coming over I contacted Gihan and made plans . He had so many suggestions and recommendations to my plans that worked out so well . We had a great driver Shamath and nothing was too much trouble for him . He stopped for photos and helped us find atm and SIM cards . They were no hidden extras and surprises at the end of the trip as we had discussed payment with Gihan. We also had independence from the driver after the long trips . He was always looking out for us and even organised a great tuk tuk driver to take us from Demodara station to nine arch bridge as the train was late . That was one of our best experiences. We loved having Shamath as our driver . He knew we loved elephants so would stop if he saw any near the side of the road . Gihan also organised a fantastic guide for Yala - Shanka- he was so knowledgeable and kind and a guided safari for Habarana. Definitely go with Gihan and ask him about possibilities and he will let you know what he thinks is best . Our trip - day1 collect from Negombo- drive to Sigyura afternoon game safari Habarrana - stay at village. Day 2 - maybe climb sigyura ( we didn’t) then trip to Polonnaruwa,- ancient city ruins Day 3 - drive sigyura to Ella vis Dambulla temple . Day 4 - train trip Demodara to Bandarawela - with tuk tuk to nine arch - pm climb little Adam’s peak . Day 5 - Ella to tissaharama via falls and rock carvings of Buduruwagala.refreshment stop at the cafe near car park Then dropped off at 2pm Tissamaharama with safari driver to drop us at hotel and then do afternoon safari . Comprehensive 5 days . The places we saw and the history were incredible.

We booked a 7-day round trip with Gihan Tours. We started in Negombo and went to Sigiriya, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Ella and Tissamaharama. Our guide Kumara was a very funny, friendly guy. He is a super safe driver who made us feel comfortable at all times. The car was also super big and comfortable. Kumara was able to tell us a lot about the country, the people and the culture during the trip. Everything was very well organized and spontaneous changes were possible at any time. We had a really great, exciting time and would recommend Gihan Tour and Kumara to anyone. Thank you very much!

Gihan and his team organised a lovely 2 day trip for us. Our highlights were the Safari at Yala, Mirrisa beaches, Galle and the lovely beach stay at Unawatuna. Gihan was always prompt with his communication and organised our trip very efficiently. Kumara our driver/guide was was punctual, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We wanted to see how batik dyeing is done and he went out of his way to take us to a home where we got to see this. The undiluted praise for Gihan and his staff in earlier reviews is completely deserved. This trip was delayed for several years and had to be rearranged again and again, whether because of Covid or other reasons but this was taken by Gihan in his stride. Ultimately, we decided opon the 14 night full island experience and were delighted with the result. From the moment we arrived at Colombo to the moment of our return, we were looked after every step of the way and saw aspects of this beautiful country that those on a more packaged tour would miss. The hotels were carefully chosen and represented the best of local hospitality, the itinerary meant we saw nearly all of the island but without too many long journeys (one of the longest was the famous train journey from Nurawa Elya to Ella)), which were themselves made shorter by our incredible guide/driver Ashen. Ashen managed the miraculous trick of always being on hand when he was wanted or needed but never when he wasn't. Sri Lanks has suffered a lot in the last few years and is only just recovering. However, the land, the sights and, above all, the people remain some of the most beautiful on earth. We can only encourage anyone considering it as a destination to go as soon as you can and, to enjoy the best of the amazing things on offer, use Gihan and his staff. At first - huge thanks to our driver and meanwhile friend Kumara because he made our trip special and gave everything to satisfy us. We spent 2 weeks in Sri Lanka - 10 tour days with Gihan Tours incl. airport transfers and 5 in a beach hotel. Within 3 mails about our expectations and wishes Gihan edited a perfect planned private tour incl. all must-sees, secret spots and overnight stays with his driver Kumara for us. Without any payment in advance and our trust into him, we weren‘t disappointed in any way. Warmly welcomed at the airport by our driver he supported us in every situation, and guided us through the whole journey with his funny but also very competent being. He knows so much about country, culture, as well as religious things and stopped at many streetfood spots to invite us and taste the flavour of Sri Lankan kitchen. Furthermore he spontaneously drove us to places we wanted to go and respected also the relaxation and the couple togetherness of us. Both the planned program and also the not programmed activities and interesting spots gave us a wonderful image of country and people. In addition we felt safe at any time with him and he took over all organisational things. The van we rode was big, with all amenities and well air conditioned. Also the overnight stays Gihan organized were really good. Alltogether we really enjoyed our trip with Gihan Tours and the driver Kumara a lot and we are even a little bit sad to leave our new friend Kumara and his beautiful home country Sri Lanka. We spent three days in Sri Lanka in late October 2023. Upfront, Gihan was extremely helpful and accommodating and planned a tour for us according to our interests. He even included places we wanted to see that were previously not on the list of things travellers usually request. Our driver and guide Chamara picked us up at the airport on time and welcomed us in a friendly and professional manner. He was always happy to answer our questions about people, country and culture, very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make it a great experience for us. We requested some last minute changes to the tour that Chamara was able to make possible for us. Chamara is a very safe and considerate driver. We normally travel on our own and scout out things ourselves so having a fully guided tour was new to us, but Gihan Tours and Chamara made it a worthy experience. Accommodation was excellent, and we got Sri Lankan breakfast on request. 7 out of 5, would do again!

My wife and i decided to make our Honeymoon in Sri Lanka. We‘ve decided to book a private driver from gihan service. And what can i say? It was perfectly organized :) our driver Mr. Chamara was not just like a driver for us. He is a warm hearthed Person with a beautiful Soul and always there If you had any questions or needed help. Also he is a very good driver! Very responsible and careful :) He teached us many things about this beautiful Country and we are definitly looking forward to visit this amazing Place again. Sri Lanka is an amazing place to visit and steeps in so much history with a really interesting culture of Buddhism with many temples to visit across the island. Now, our journey started when I started researching Sri Lanka as a potential place for my wife and I to visit in 2023. We contacted Gihan, the owner of a tour company who replied back to my tour request with a well structured tour, which we could do with one of his drivers (Kumara), the proposed itinerary looked very good, so my wife and I booked an 8 day, 7 night tour. Kumara, our driver, picked us up early in the morning, ready for us to explore. He was very friendly and made everything very easy, pointing things out and sharing his knowledge with us. If you are thinking of visiting Sri Lanka, then this is the way to do it. Book a tour with this company, you will not be disappointed, the vehicle provided we clean, well air conditioned and Kumara made sure that we had fresh water daily for our journey and also stopped along the way to get us some interesting fruits, like red bananas and lychee. We always felt safe with Kumara. I can only give 5 stars, if I could give more, then I would.

We had the most excellent experience using Gihan tours Sri Lanka. He was extremely helpful assisting to plan our itinerary and very flexible with dates, destinations and activities. He was very quick to reply to all emails and communication, and knew all the best things to do and recommend things along the way. We ended up doing a 10 day tour all through the must see destinations of Sri Lanka. Our highlights included: elephant safari in habarana, sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, kandy, nuwara eliya, Ella, and safari in Yala NP Our driver (Chamara) was a legend. He was an extremely safe and efficient driver, but also a super friendly, funny and informative tour guide. He gave us such great tips and help to manage our time and schedule to maximise opportunities. He had really good contacts and friends in all the locations that helped to look after us and give us the best experience possible. Thanks for all your help mate, you really made the trip special. We had a really comfortable van (only 2 of us travelling, could fit 4-5 easily), it was very clean and AC worked perfectly (very hot here). Our driver always took care of our luggage and helped keep everything safe and secure at all times while we were off hiking or on safari etc. Thanks so much for the whole team for being so friendly and helpful. The flexibility and planning was fantastic. I’ll be recommending all my family and friends to come visit Sri Lanka and use this service soon!

We have just completed 10 days in Sri Lanka in what the media reports as uncertain times. Thanks for Gihan and Kamara we would never have known any of this was going on. We had an absolutely amazing trip. The safaris and the Hikes we did were like no other I've seen before. All of our accommodation was booked via gihan and we loved every place we stayed. Sri lanka is a truly beautiful country but we genuinely believe it was made as special as it was by using Gihan and Kamara as our guides. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Accompanied on our hikes, taken to the nicest restaurants, found us some lovely arrack and beers, accommodated our airport runs. And all the time with smiles on their faces and checking we were all okay and having a good time. An absolutely amazing trip that I will never forget. Thank you both for your kindness!

Right from the planning stages of our trip to being here in Sri Lanka with Gihan and Kumara, their service has been impeccable and we really couldn’t have asked for anything else. They went over and above for us, from multiple airport pick ups as the 4 of us were arriving at different times, to buying umbrellas for us when it rained, and being really flexible when we saw a beach club after our hike and decided we’d prefer the afternoon there instead! We squeezed a lot into our ten days but really saw the best of Sri Lanka with a well thought out itinerary and suggestions as to how/where to spend our down time. Easily the best holiday I’ve ever had! Gihan and Kumara are absolutely wonderful. They could not have done any more for us and I am so so glad we decided to go with a tour guide. I’d usually organise tours myself but this completely took the stress away and we got the real Sri Lankan experience. Amazing safari, cooking lesson, food recommendations, and overall the best holiday. We had zero problems (re: political issues) and they could not have done anymore for us. Both were SO genuine and sincere and they have made our holiday and I will 100% be going back to Sri Lanka again as we had an amazing experience 😍😍😍😍 thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Me, my wife and our 1 year old son have had a great 2 week tour around Sri Lanka with Janaka. Our tour covered all of Sri Lanka’s best sights in the south west. From the beach, mountains, jungle, safari and again beach. Janaka organized us a baby seat, was always on time, made sure the car (a mini bus that could take up to 10 people) was always fueled up and despite the challenges with diesel he also ensured we had jerry cans on board to ensure we could finish our almost 2 weeks tour. Apart from driving he taught us about the culture, made us try different local fruits, vegetables and also spices like cinnamon and black pepper on trees fresh from the trees we passed on the road. He helped us organize tickets for cultural events, laundry, recommended restaurants, tea plantations , hidden beaches, shared some of the history at famous sights and when the hotel we booked ourselves for Safari didn’t have a pool, he made sure we could use the pool of another hotel. We did learn that locals in most cases could get a better deal for hotels, so if you have your trip figured out I recommend the tour organization to cross check if they can get you a better deal. Our son was playing often with Janaka and was really happy. He was like an uncle to him. We hope to have the chance to visit Sri Lanka again some time soon and then visit the less explored east coast with the guidance of Janaka. Many thanks for the great experiences.

A friend recommended Gihan Tours and she was absolutely right, this was the best choice we could make. Planning the trip with Gihan via email was very easy. Our driver Manoj picked us up from the airport. He is a very safe and good driver considering the sometimes crazy traffic. The car was comfortable and spacious. Manoj accompanied us to all the sights and was a huge help during our trip. He is a polite, honest, funny and open minded young man. He always made us feel comfortable and even introduced us to friends. All of them were very kind and made us feel welcome. All accommodations were good, however we chose 2 by ourselves, which was not a problem and Manoj also arranged an upgrade for us in kandy. In Yala we were not lucky to see a leopard, although the guide did his very best to find one and even extended the tour. Nevertheless it was a great safari. At the end of our tour we were dropped off at Tangalle. And after our beachdays Manoj also arranged to pick us up and gave us a ride to the airport. Huge thank you for this awesome trip!!

Fully recommend Gihan Tours without any exceptions - from Tour Planning including communication prior to the trip to the tour itself, which was amazing. We went on vacation with Gihan Tours in March 2022 for 9 days (Negombo - Kandy - Nuwara Eliya - Ella - Yala - Utawalawe - Mirissa) with our two children (both below the age of 4). Our driver and guide was Indra. He did an outstanding job and made our stay a perfect one! He is kind, friendly, calm, very likable and provided an exceptional service level. Always flexible and open to our needs and wants. He was constantly recommending the right things whenever needed. Traveling with two young children is not stress-free all the time, but Indra always tried to look out for us and making our time as seamless as possible. Plus, he is a safe driver (as safe as possible considering the Sri Lankan driving style of all that are on the road). On top of that he handled special situations exceptionally well and made us always feel taken care of. May it be injuries of our kids or when we left some toys at our last accommodation before we went on without a driver. Indra was always doing his best to support, find solutions and was simply providing a great service (and we got our bag of toys back on our last day in Sri Lanka!! Thank you so much, Indra and Gihan!). One small caveat regarding our stay: Not all accommodations that we booked via Gihan Tours were 100% what we usually look for. But, it’s fair to add that we booked quite spontaneously and some of the accommodations were not available anymore. Just look up the places Gihan recommends beforehand and you can arrange with him to make adjustments accordingly. Anyway, Gihan Tours and especially Indra are great and were the PERFECT choice for us. @Indra, @Gihan: Thank you so much for being awesome!

We did a 8-day tour, starting in Colombo and finishing in Hikkaduwa. The experience was great since the beginning, even before travelling to Sri Lanka. We booked the trip just 7 days before flying and Gihan answered very quickly and adapted the plan to our needs.Pricing was reasonable and there was the option to book with or without accommodation. Once in Sri Lanka, the experience with Indra as a driver was the best. He took very good care of us during the whole trip. He was giving information about the country and his recommendations for restaurants and activities were excellent. Also, he was adapting the plan to fit our needs and preferences. He always helped us with communication with locals and he went above and beyond to help us solve some issues that we had during the trip. We felt very safe with his driving and he also cleaned the van daily. The van was huge and with AC. Also he got us little snacks and water quite a few times during the trip which was a very nice gesture. If we visit Sri Lanka again in the future we will for sure book again with Gihan tours and Indra, and if you are planning a trip to Sri Lanka we highly recommend it!
