I arranged a personalized tour with Armando which was a mix of riding up out of town, dirt road climbing, technical single track. Armando met me on time and we had a really great 3 hour ride through varied terrain and great views of Gto. from different vantages. He is a great and interesting guy. I will definitely go out with him again. I can't recommend him enough.

Our family had a great bicycle tour with Armando in the Santa Rosa mountains. The tour was prompt, courteous, and safe. Our family really enjoyed getting to know Armando and learn more about the mountains, the mines, and Guanajuato. Armando humored our fledgling Spanish speakers in the family by practicing Spanish with us. He was fluent in English and spoke perfect English with our non-Spanish speaker. A moderate level of fitness is needed, the biking is mostly downhill with a few gentle uphills. The tracks are technical in a few places, so some basic mountain biking skills are a good idea. Thank you Armando, it was a great experience!

It was nice ride in the mountains near the Guanajuato. A bit challenging for me - and that's why interesting. On the summit there is a beautiful view to Guanajuato. Also we rode near mines and Armando gave me some information about them

Nice ride through the hills and mountains outside of Guanajuato. Mostly downhill on fire roads. Technically and physically easy. The guide was very knowledgeable of the area. Nice stop at a village bakery with fresh out of the oven buns.

The bike that was provided was good quality and in good condition. Antonio was a great guide, providing his knowledge of the area as well as a really fun ride. You do need to be an experienced mountain biker for this descent.

Susana is amazing!! She was kind enough to offer to pick us up at our Airbnb which we greatly appreciate. Extremely knowledgeable about the history of Guanajuato and down to earth as well. We even got to hop off the bikes and explore the waterfall by foot! I can’t wait to go back and do the tour again 🥹 thank you susana!

Susana and Antonio were fantastic ‘bike guides’, well-informed about local history (including prehistory), plants and fauna. And they were very patient with folks who haven’t been on a bicycle for a while. We rode through Puentecillas and up to Sombrero Pt. which gave us a beautiful view of the reservoir and surrounding landscape of Guanajuato. It was my favorite activity in the city. Will definitely do it again.

I had such a wonderful experience from start to finish. My guide, Antonio, was informative, very kind as well as patient with me an emergent Spanish speaker. If you visit, Guanajuato do not miss out a trip with Cacimixtle.

It was great! We were picked up 2min from our hotel in a safe place he could park with bikes, helmets and gloves loaded in the truck. Antonio drove us up to the forest and pointed out areas of interest and talked about the mining culture here. I am a large woman and hadn’t rode a bike in over 10 years but in the spirit of trying something new that my son wanted to do, we gave it a go! We stopped as needed, we passed some communities in the forest and while I was resting, he showed my son how to use his sling and let him try his sling shot while we overlooked a canyon area of the forest. It was much cooler temps than here in the city so the breeze felt great while riding. His son who also does tours and was communicating with me to arrange this, he was super responsive and answered all our questions. They don’t have “wider” seats which I think would have helped me but I just took breaks as needed. We would definitely do another type of tour with them for sure!

As a seasoned Mountain Biker, I must admit that this was one of my favorite rides all time.The guide,Antonio, is a retired Mine engineer who knows who really knows the mountains of Guanajuato because he worked in the surrounding mines. In addition, he is very popular with the people that live in the pueblos along the trail. At one point he took me into a house built on top of ruins which happened to be a bakery which baked pan dulce with fire wood. Definitely the best I have had in all of Mexico. The route is perfect for beginner to advance and concludes with a ride through colonial downtown Guanajuato.

We had the most incredible time with Antonio bicycling around the old mining towns and the next day cycling through Guanajuato. Antonio's knowledge and passion for the area is unparalleled, and these two tours with him turned our trip from good into awesome. Antonio focused on making sure we had an authentic experience - between taking us to a tiny bakery in the mountains to cycling to places in the city we definitely would not have seen on our own. We are very grateful to have found Cacomixtle, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an adventurous way to get to know the area.

We had a great time during our historical bike tour through "Marfil" area, we learnt so much about Guanajuato's culture and saw new beautiful spots we've never even heard of before. Susana is such a fabulous fun guide, very patient, personable, kind, and caring she made us feel very welcomed and safe. This is a tour that we truly recommend, it is no ordinary ride, especially if you enjoy a good chellenging bike ride, it is absolutely worth it. 10/10

Un fin de semana largo por Guanajuato en familia. Donde Susana y Antonio nos recogieron en nuestro hotel, fuimos en su camioneta a la sierra de Santa Rosa al recorrido en bici. El recorrer en bicicleta la ciudad de Guanajuato, por los lugares más emblematicos es una experiencia que no se pueden perder. La guía y explicaciones de nuestro anfitrión complemetan a la perfección la aventura.

Conocer la Sierra de Santa Rosa es uno de los lugares obligados de Guanajuato Capital, para esta en contacto con la naturaleza; y qué mejor manera que combinarlo con un poco de actividad física como la bicicleta. La familia Ojeda, a demás de ser excelentes ciclistas en la montaña, son guías de turista certificados que harán que el recorrido sea mucho más entretenido y que además tienen una gran cantidad de anécdotas y datos que compartir. Es un recorrido que puede asombrar a los turistas pero que también los locales disfrutarán al conocer de otra manera nuestra sierra No dejen de pedirle a Don Toño o a Susana que les enseñen a usar la honda.

Que maravilla poder conocer Guanajuato y su Sierra de Santa Rosa de la mano de Cacomixtle, desde ya les digo que no pueden perderse la oportunidad de disfrutar el paseo en bici que ofrece la familia Ojeda Orranti.
