We really enjoyed our time with Diogo. He was very personable & a lot of fun to hang out with for a few hours. He knew the sites for us to see & was very knowledgeable about his homeland. We had no preconceived ideas about Madeira & he showed us why he loves it so much. It's a very beautiful island & wish we could have spent more time exploring but since we were on a cruise we were limited in our time there. Would definitely recommend Diogo for your tour guide.

We enjoyed our 4-hour long tour very much indeed. Ricardo was friendly, chatty and well informed. This tour suited us as we could see a number of sights easily and got a taste of Madeira. We'll be back :-)

From the moment I made contact with Diogo from the U.K. I was impressed with his swift response to my enquiry and felt confident we would have a fabulous tour of the eastern side of the Island. Of course he came with glowing references from others who had travelled with him and these references are well deserved. Diogo proved to be a friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating guide, always finding the perfect place to stop and direct us to the key sights of the island. He also took into account the fact that one of the party found walking difficult and showed great consideration when parking. He is a relaxed and chatty guide telling us of life in Madeira both past and present and pointing out key features. He is an excellent driver safely navigating sinuous mountain roads whilst enabling us to enjoy breathtaking views. Highlights of the trip proved to be the magnificent statue of Christ which looks out over the ocean at Garajau. The amazing views of towering mountain peaks from Pico do Ariera. The journey through the forest of gigantic pines and the colourful, traditional straw thatched houses of Santana. We enjoyed every moment of our wonderful journey with Diogo and hope to return next year and explore the island further with the help of this excellent guide. Thank you Diogo for a lovely day.

Lewis was a good driver and spoke good English, adapted the tour to suit me, was a great day out. Was very informative and allowed me to spend as much time as I wanted at each attraction, It was also very easy to book

Diogo is amazing I’m so glad we found him, he’s a very good careful driver and we felt very safe with him, this was the first time we had used a taxi for a tour and I would certainly recommend him. He is very knowledgeable and he’s English is good. He took us where we asked and to extra places recommended by him which we thoroughly enjoyed. We were only there for a day as part of a cruise but would like to return and certainly would use any other taxi then Diogo from collection from the airport to more tours of the island.

We had a lovely afternoon with Diogo. He asked what we wanted to see and tailored the tour to meet our requirements. We drove into the mountains as requested, and he found us lots of spots with fabulous views and walks. He gave us time to do what we wanted to do and always welcomed us back to the car with a smile. He was knowledgeable and gave us lots of information along the way. We would not hesitate to recommend.

Diogo was an amazing tour host booking was easy he arranged all the details of the tour we wanted by email. We booked for 6 put due to illness there were only 4 of us on the day, this wasn’t a problem. We asked to go to the gardens and the toboggans and then he suggested to add the view point and the fishing village which we gladly agreed to. On arrived Diogo met us promptly inside the cruise terminal area, he ran through where we wanted to go again and suggested instead of the gardens which are a paid attraction and had few flowers this time of year that he could take us to Nun Valley but left it very much to out choice. We went with his recommendation of Nun Valley which was stunning. Diogo was very informative his English was spot on and we had a great day with him and felt we have made a good friend and would certainly not look anywhere else for taxi if we go back to Madeira. We highly recommend driving with Diogo! From start to end it was a one of a kind experience! Diogo was quick to respond via mail some months ahead of our vacation. He was on time and even proactive in suggesting to change date due to bad weather. Friendly and welcoming us as private guests on his island - which he is very passionate about and proud to show in all its beauty. Broad and quite distinct knowledge about the island and its culture and customs. At the same time showing interest in our country and ways of living. And a genuine curiosity about the world around him. Very attentive to our special needs and letting each stop take the time we needed. My mom is not walking so well anymore. Mr. Diogo, the guide was very friendly and responsible. His English was excellent. He was knowledgeable around Madeira very much. Because of him, we enjoyed the tour more than we expected.

Diogo was absolutely brilliant. As arranged he collected us from the airport on time and took us on the tour of the island and dropped us at our hotel. He was very knowledgeable about Madeira and his English was very good. He was very relaxed at each stop and let us take our time. He booked us a lovely restaurant for lunch with the best table in the house. His costs were also very good. I cannot rate Diogo enough.

Oh my goodness - what an absolute superstar Diogo was. I booked a half day tour via email prior to our holiday. Communication was excellent and I was asked what we would like to see on the Island. No deposit or anything needed at the time of booking which was great as it was a group holiday. A couple of days before our trip Diogo emailed to confirm our tour. On the day, Diogo was very punctual and again, checked we were happy with our itinerary. We saw the Jesus statue, the Funchal market, Monte church & Toboggan, Madeira wine tasting, viewpoint and fishing village. Diogo chatted with us all the way around the tour and was very knowledgeable, telling us lots of information about the island. Despite being a huge queue for the toboggan Diogo waited and was there to collect us at the end. He was so patient. We felt like we were in really good hands and I would have no hesitation in recommending him if you're looking for a tour experience in Madeira.

During our May 2023 to Madeira Island we had a stress free airport pickup and drop off and two days of tours thanks to Diogo (and Roberto). These two brothers are excellent hosts, they know every inch of the island and they are fluent in English. Thank you Diogo for making our trip to your lovely home island and unforgettable visit.

We had a fantastic tour with Diogo's brother! It was a wonderful and relaxing way to see the majestic and beautiful sights of Madeira. The taxi was very comfortable, and we went to some amazingly beautiful sights (Nun's valley, fishing village, lookout with glass bottomed platform, etc.) We even stopped at a scenic cafe and tried the local "poncha" drink (HiGHLY RECOMMEND!!! ). Madeira is beautiful and we learned a lot about it's culture, economy and beauty on our private tour. We would not hesitate to recommend Madeira taxi tours by Diogo to anyone seeking a private tour experience in Madeira. You will not be disappointed!

This is my third review for Diogo (and Rachael) but every time I book something, I am blown away at the experience. Starting at the beginning, I send an email for more information and receive a response within a day or two. The information is clear and concise and I know exactly what I am paying and the pick up times are arranged to suit me. All questions are answered in a timely manner. A couple of days before my holiday, I received a confirmation email. Again, easy to understand. So to the tours themselves. Wow!!!! Diogo is always on time, if not early and met with a smile. While he cannot be credited for how beautiful Madeira is, his knowledge about the island is second to none. Have regular drop offs to explore the area taken and he is exactly where he says he will be after had a walk around. Never rushed and every time feel how much he loves his country. I know this sounds so British and feel bad writing it but his English is second to none. I never feel silly for asking those daft questions about the island or the area. In fact I never seem to stop asking those!!! I truly do not have enough words to describe how amazing Diogo and Rachael are. I would never use another company now and will always 100% recommend them. If you are wanting a simple, stress free, amazing experience then this is the company for you. This time I did both the west and east side tours. I didn’t use for the airport transfers as these were part of my holiday package.

Beautiful city with a knowledgeable and kind guide! Diogo was fantastic! Monte basket ride was a must-do (despite the long wait, as we expected!) and park sites with views were fantastic! Strongly recommend!!!!

After reading such good reviews on Trip Advisor, we decided to book our trip with Diogo. We were so impressed from start to finish - nothing was too much trouble. Diogo spoke very good English and was very friendly. He tailored the day around our requirements and would definitely use him again when we return to Madeira.

We used Madeira Taxi Tours following a recommendation & we were not disappointed. Diogo kept in touch from the moment we contacted him pre departure until we meet him for our half day excursion. What a wonderful family man Diogo presented himself to be, and his values matched ours. Prior to our trip with Diogo we had taken a few trips ourselves, and this meant that when Diogo picked us up from the hotel (on-time) he proved to be very flexible and showed us around the Island to places we hadn't seen to date - this included Nuns Valley, Statue of Jesus Christ, Camara de Lobos and a few other places. The scenery was stunning. We also used his services for airport transfers which again were timely & pleasant (his brother took us back to the airport, and another pleasant man - clearly runs in the family !!) Diogo was an extremely pleasant man to be with and we shall certainly use his services when returning to Madeira.

Diogo was an excellent tour guide (Saturday 4 March). Kept in touch before the tour to make sure everything was still as planned. Punctual and friendly, he added a wee bit extra insight into the locations we visited and told us some historical details. A very enjoyable half-day tour, thank you Diogo!
