Mohammad was wonderful and knew a lot of history of the city. He lives in the Medina and was very informative and helpful. Lots of shops visited. Mohammad made sure that I got to where I needed to go when the tour ended. Very wonderful.

We are an elderly couple touring Morocco by car. Quite by chance we came across somebody who recommended using Mohammed as a tour guide in Fez. What a brilliant “chance”. Mohammed was amazing, personable, very knowledgable (having been born and raised in Fez) and very considerate of our age. He went at a slower pace but kept us going so that we felt we had a real experience of Fez as a city. He found us seats when he could, a good coffee stop, an excellent lunch but also included so many of the ‘attractions’ we didn’t feel our age had been a handicap. We had a wonderful day, exhausted but in a nice way, and would thoroughly recommend him as a guide for anybody.

During a bit over four hours our guide took us all over the Medina, into spaces we would have never been able to go as tourists, and illuminated the history of the places, and the meanings of what we were looking at. It was very cool to go to several cooperatives to buy from vendors if we wished, and eat lunch. My friend and I came away from the experience with so much more understanding of this place and its history, as well as the processes that go into the products that are famously sold here. It was amazing. The guide, who was born and raised here, seemed to know half of Fes and it is clear that he is well loved. We followed him around like ducklings, it was time very well spent. What a guy! Mohammed provided an informative, fun and hassle-free adventure around Fes' 9000 bustling streets. Unlike some organised tours we've been on, there was no pressure to buy from the places he took us to, and he deftly deterred some of the pushier street sellers. We did a mixture of culture, shopping, food and history, and Mohammed built it round our preferences. The four hours stated turned into almost 7, and we were collected and dropped back off right at our Riad! Fantastic value, and a brilliant way for local knowledge to safely guide you round this incredible city!

Mohammed is warm, generous of spirit and hugely knowledgeable. It was such a joy today to enjoy is company and have him guide us through the maze of the old Fez medina. We would not have had such an insight without his guiding hand. Our first trip to Fes will not be our last and we would love to spend more time with Mohammed on our next visit.

We couldn’t have asked for a better tour or a more knowledgeable guide. Mohammed started with a survey of the 1100-year-old history of the city (don’t worry—it was just a survey, and there wasn’t a test at the end), as we walked from our Riad to the areas we wanted to see. These included the Kairouine Mosque and university, the Nejjarine Museum of woodcarving arts, the tanneries, and much more. We’d already been a bit traumatized by the aggressive selling and haggling of merchants in Marrakesh, and a welcome favor Mohammed did us was to take us only by shops that did none of this. This was our best day in Morocco so far.

It was a pleasure to learn from Mr. Mohamed! His experience and knowledge is immediately apparent. He shared so much history about Fez and knows every nook and cranny in the Medina. He is patient and thorough with his explanations. It was fun to walk through the Medina with him …he seems to know every person! He brought us to shops where we learned about the art and artisans. He was helpful with negotiations so everyone could leave happy. Finally, he was helpful to us personally by getting an issue corrected. He receives our highest recommendation!

Do yourself a favor and book with Mohamed! We had an incredible experience with him as he is personable, knowledgeable, trustworthy and very much needed to guide through the maze of the Medina and winding streets. This guy knows everybody, and I mean everybody and was helpful in giving us tips for negotiating in the intimidating market. We also were able to get a driver by request/option to see some incredible viewpoints of the city. If you mention something you like, he knows exactly where to take you and never any pressure from him or the storekeepers. 10/10 all around!

We are so fortunate we spent time reading reviews of guides and tours in Fes and decided to book with Mohammed. His reviews are 100% accurate — he’s quite frankly the best guide you will find in Fes! We saw all of the major cultural sites, artisan co-ops, and even took car rides on either side of the city to see incredible views of the cultural capital of Morocco.
