What an amazing night learning about night photography and a better understanding of my DSLR. Tim is great with beginners and teaches in away anyone can understand he's very professional and friendly. I highly recommend Cape Night Photography /Tim Little as your guide to night photography. My friend/neighbor and I had a great experience with Tim on his Cape Cod guided night tour, under the harvest moon. Tim's enthusiasm was contagious and his patience was something we both appreciated. I learned a great deal about low-light shooting with my Sony, including camera functions I never would have changed or considered, and came back with solid tips on low-light manual focusing, timing of exposures, and best settings. I plan to take Tim's astrophotography class in the spring, and greatly look forward to it!

I loved my night photography tour. A few days before, Tim and I discussed my interests and what I was looking for. The night of the tour, Tim picked me up around 9:30pm and we went to three different locations. At each site, Tim helped find compositions, helped light paint the scene, and gave feedback on shots. It really felt like we were team. I was able to get a lot of great photos that I was really happy with. The whole tour lasted for around 4 hours. The whole time, Tim was really nice and easy to talk to. If we go back up to Cape Cod again, I’d definitely consider taking another tour with Tim. It was a really great experience.

It was an awesome experience. I learned a lot. Got some great pictures and our. Photographer Timothy was very patient and informative. I would highly recommend this tour, and when we come back to Cape Cod, I would definitely do it again.

He answered all my questions and we had a lot of fun as well. He was very accommodating; he picked us up and suggested great locations. I booked this excursion for my daughter, an aspiring artist. She loved it and learned a ton. My husband went with her and, although an experienced photographer, learned loads of new techniques from Tim. They had an amazing, amazing time.

I’m only in Cape Cod for one week a year, and taking a workshop/tour with Tim made this year’s vacation extra special. I have done astro-landscape photography in the past, but I could not have gotten so many good shots in one night without Tim’s expertise. We visited 3 locations, selected to be rewarding regardless of the weather (which only cooperated halfway). I am grateful to Tim for filling in my knowledge gaps and making great composition and lighting suggestions -- and for his enthusiasm. I highly recommend this workshop: it was a lot of fun and an excellent value. I hope to book another tour with Tim when I return to Cape Cod in 2024. PS Tim was a great sport about trying different types of photos, and he helped me get this image (a composite of 2 shots taken at Nauset Light).

I had a great time on this tour and definitely recommend it. Tim is a fantastic teacher and guide; he's got a wealth of knowledge about the photography and astronomy side of things, but wraps it up in a really accessible and easy to understand way. He showed a great deal of patience and was really easy going throughout the whole trip. He went above and beyond the description to make sure I got exactly what I was looking for, had a good time and understood how everything worked along the way. If you're looking at this and on the fence, I think you should go for it - you won't be disappointed.

At the end of our workshop I asked Tim how long he has been teaching people and he said that I was the 141st person he's taken out to teach night photography, and he said "I've never had a single problem; everyone's been great." Now, if out of 141 people not a SINGLE one is an a-hole, that's more than luck. It means that Tim is really, really good with people and really good at what he does. First off, there was zero time pressure. If I could have lasted until 4 in the morning, I honestly think Tim would have said "okay, great!". When you meet him, before you start shooting he goes over gear with you and asks you what it is you want out of the evening rather than having a one-size-fits-all approach. I understand the technical side of photography but was completely new to astrophotography; Tim's knowledge of both is amazing. I've not been on any of his group workshops (they all are sold out!) but I can't more highly recommend the one-on-one workshops with Tim.

Tim is a great teacher, this was a fantastic experience, highly recommend! Whole new way to look at photography. Can’t wait to try out on my own.

This was absolutely one of the best photography workshops we've ever attended. Tim was extremely knowledgeable about night,photography and shared his knowledge in a conversational manner that was very helpful and non-stressful. We will definitely do again and would recommend to anyone who is interested and wants to improve.

I have always wanted to photograph the stars and Tim Little, through his Guided Night Photography Tour ( on Cape Cod) made it possible. This was a solo experience allowing me to learn and make my own modifications of compositions that Tim suggested. I am a very limited beginner and had no experience with night photography. Tim also allowed me to use a camera and tripod as I did not have one the could take these shots. His experience was invaluable as was his style of presenting an overview of techniques we used. He then went step by step in having me set up, focus, decide on the composition, and for every shot, I pressed the shutter button so the picture was really one "I" took. I got to photograph boats in a harbor, lighthouses and building, and, of course, the stars! At each of the three locations we used different angles to capture different perspectives of the subjects. Tim explained in a very understandable way the interconnection of ISO, aperture, time, and white balance for the different requirements of each location. Tim picked me from where I was staying on vacation and drove me to each location, then brought me back to my vacation home. This also allowed time to talk about the upcoming location requirements, technical aspects, and his personal experiences with night photography. Seeing some of his nighttime photographs, I was very impressed with his skill and artistry. (No wonder he has a book published, Cape Cod Nights, on the subject!) Finally, Tim gave me a 24 page booklet covering all we had done, and more, with all the camera settings and guidance for me to use in the future. This was my first photography learning experience and I would heartily recommended this for experienced photographers and newbies like me.

I received this experience as a gift and I can’t tell you how amazing it was! Tim is an absolute master of his craft and I felt like he was an old friend almost immediately. He picked me up at my Airbnb and took me to several beautiful spots close to where I was staying (Chatham). I had never done any nighttime photography and Tim patiently walked me through every step of the way. I will be booking this outing again next time I visit the Cape. If you or someone you love enjoys photography, this is the perfect way to experience Cape Cod!

High on my list of vacation activities was a night photography shoot around the eastern shore of Cape Cod. I came across the work of Tim Little based on a recommendation from a fellow NJ Photographer. Tim is a great photographer to work with. He is energetic, engaging, and a lot of fun. We had a very fluid schedule due to weather but managed to successfully capture the images I had envisioned even under the tightest of schedules. He knows the Cape well and takes you to the perfect locations offering compositions and perspectives that are unique in addition to those which would be considered typical. I would never hesitate to recommend Tim to anyone who wants a true professional to create a customized photography experience.

If you are a photographer visiting the Cape, this 100% should be on your to do list. Any skill level will have a fantastic time & learn plenty of astronomy, shooting techniques/light painting & find interesting (& not crowded) spots to shoot with Tim. I’ve done 2 tours over the years (lower & upper cape) & come home with very cool shots of some of the cape’s landmark spots, with the Milky Way stretching across the sky. So much fun, highly recommend!

Tim is a wonderful instructor. This was my first experience with night photography and I'm amazed at how much I learned. He's patient, has a great sense of humor, and wants his clients to have a positive experience. I absolutely recommend his tour and will contact him again during my next visit to Cape Cod.
