Erika was such an awesome tour guide. Very knowledgeable about the history of the areas, answered all our questions, and gave us lots of options to choose our own adventure for portions of the tour. I would absolutely book with her again.

We had Sara as our private guide! I cannot tell you how much of a delight she was. We have been on multiple tours from different countries and within the United States, and she was probably by far the best guide we have ever had. We love how much information she gave us about Medellin. The history, and her history with the city as well! Visiting Commune 13 was definitely a highlight of our trip so far and to be honest, if we did not have her we never would’ve went. We felt so safe with her and seeing what That area has become and should I say overcome has been absolutely incredible. We wish we could have her for every tour! Laura was an amazing tour guide. Pickup and drop off from the hotel was smooth and comfortable and she took us to all the sites we wanted to see. She allowed us to watch some street performers and customize the tour as we wanted. She knew so much history and gave us some great tips and ideas for traveling within Colombia. I really enjoyed this tour and absolutely would do it again.

Enquired about this tour on Thursday morning for the next day, and Andreas had arranged it within half an hour. Super simple. We had Erika as our guide and she was great. Picked us up promptly at our hotel and was a wealth of warmth and information from the first minute. It was a hot day and we are a family of four with two under ten but she paced it for us so as get the best and not wear out the kids. The tour and cable car ride were great. The fruit tasting brilliant too. Four types of passion fruit. That is mind blowing for people who live in London and have poly tunnel tasteless fruit! Erika dropped us back at our hotel and even gave us a great local restaurant recommendation too, which we followed up that night. All the five star reviews are justified. Book with these guys.

Comuna 13 has such a rich history and strong messaging of overcoming and healing white using the arts. Laura was full of knowledge and was able to explain the history and meaning behind all the art in the Comuna. Laura also has a gift of being able connect with everyone and includes you in that connection. Laura helped us feel like locals and experience Colombia in such an enriching way. The food tour was super delicious. We love food in general but there is something special about street food and the experience that comes with it. We had an amazing time. She did such a great job that we booked another all day tour with her. She is amazing at her job and my husband and I feel so lucky to have gotten her as a tour guide. You will be in great hands with Laura as your tour guide.

So where do I begin... Took this tour our first full day in Medellin and it exceeded our expectations. Our tour guide Daniel was fantastic. Before the tour even began the suggestion to make our start time earlier than initially planned was spot on as we learned later in the day just how crowded it would have been had we kept our initial time. Daniel was friendly, knowledgeable, and excited to share his country's history with us, which is everything we could have possibly wanted in our tour guide. We began our adventure with the cable car ride, which yielded some of the most amazing city views of Medellin. We continued our journey to Comuna 13 and learned all about the area's turbulent past and promising future. It was truly amazing to understand and get appreciation for how much the area has been transformed. The final stop at a market to sample some of the fruits unique to Colombia was a perfect way to end the day. It made you realize just how "fruit deprived" we are here in the US. All delicious, all leaving us wanting more. We could not have asked for a more perfect day, or a better guide. We loved our guide Laura so much that we decided to book her for this tour as well. We did the horseback riding and Guatapé tour the day before. Laura picked us up again at our hotel and we went to the cable cars. She shared more information on the cable cars and comuna 13, which we wouldn’t have known if we had decided to walk the area ourselves. We stopped to watch local performers which was fun for our whole group. Bring cash if you’d like to leave the performers any tips. Laura even knew of a good spot to grab a beer and take in the view of the neighborhood. The tour is affordable and I highly recommend it to get the most out of your visit there!

Alejo was the perfect tour guide! He communicated with me the night before and came with the driver to pick us up from our hotel the next day. My MIL ended up getting sick on the cable car, Alejo ran out to get us water, took us to a pharmacy, and was super understanding throughout everything. He adjusted our tour based on what we asked and took us to a part of the Comuna we had not experienced before and gave us a ton of history. The fruit tasting was excellent, and we got to eat a bunch of fruits we had never tried before. We would take this tour again and highly recommend Alejo!!

We loved our tour of Comuna 13 with Erika! She was very passionate and seemed well connected to the community. I think having her as a guide made the tour much more enjoyable and informative than just walking through the neighborhood on our own. Our tour was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Colombia.

A fascinating, colourful and informative tour. Our excellent guide Daniel, was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about all the different elements of the tour, happy to answer our questions and keen to share with us his passion for Medellin and Colombia. The exotic fruits we sampled at a local market stop were a feast for the eyes and taste buds. Fruits we had never seen before and would never have tried on our own. The history behind the city’s public transport system made the cable car journey all the more interesting as well as offering great views. The tour around Commune 13 was bright, bustling and alive. It was brilliant to have the areas history explained to us which helped us understand the art and graffiti that adorns the walls. An excellent guided tour.

Overall, interesting tour and very engaging guide. I think Comuna 13 has turned a bit too touristy and therefore, many 'street' performers trying to get money from you. Detracts some from the history of the area. Guide was super fun and personable, but I would have appreciated more history and background of the areas we were at. The cable car ride was good to see the non-touristy parts of Medellin.

Today we were guided by Daniel, such a nice, attentive and easy going guide. The entire tour was both entertaining and informative. Daniel is fluent in English. The entire tour was worthwhile and I can only recommend it and especially Daniel to anyone who wants to get both profound information and a great time!

WHAT A DAY!! We had such a great time on this tour with our guide LAURA! The graffiti was amazing, such artwork! The view of the city, the ice cram, the freestyle oappers, the dancers.......... aAn absolute must do! If your interested in a day filled with art, food fun and laughs, definitely book this trip and ask for LAURA, you won't be disappointed!

Laura was great! We had to condense our tour but we were able to hit all the spots. We enjoyed tasting the fruit and learning about the history of Comuna 13. She always had an answer ready for all of our questions. And she was really easygoing. A great time overall.

We had a wonderful day with Erika from Medellin Day Trips. Everything was coordinated well through WhatsApp and she arrived at our hotel early, in a good sized and clean car, with cold water, umbrellas, and phone chargers ready for us. She explained the history of Comuna 13 in a very age-appropriate way for our daughter and showed us all the interesting sites and beautiful graffiti, murals and other artwork. Since it was a private tour we got to spend more time in places we liked and skip over things that didn’t interest us much. Erika took us to a great restaurant for lunch and when heavy rain prevented us from going on the cable cars, she instead took us to see the Botero sculptures and other parts of the city. She also gave us plenty of useful tips for the rest of our visit. The team at Medellin Day Trips followed up separately to make sure everything went smoothly, too.

The tour was awesome! Erika is incredibly knowledgeable about comuna 13 - the art and history- as well as the city in general. She seems to know everyone in comuna 13 so she knew exactly where to take us based on our interests. We learned so much about this wonderful place. We are hopeful we can do another tour with her in the future!! (Also her English is perfect).
