Peter, our guide was excellent! He was experienced, knowledgeable and passionate about Chinese history. The architecture of the Forbidden City is spectacular to look at but without a guide it's difficult to understand the depth of what goes on beyond it. Highly recommend this tour.

My husband and I really enjoyed our tour with Joe. He called our hotel the night before our tour to confirm our itinerary. The next morning he arrived on time and efficiently escorted us through our day. He was thorough in his explanation of each location's historical significance. Overall- excellent trip; quick and thorough booking confirmed by Catherine Lu and fantastic services by the driver and my fantastic tour guide, Sonia who was a very knowledgeable history buff, kind, and a great photographer! Details- the night before my trip (which I had only booked a day prior) Ms. Lu called to confirm my itinerary and was very nice and ensuring my requests for departure was appropriate for the long schedule. The next morning, Sonia was waiting for me in the lobby and a very clean comfortable van took us to our three destinations, The Great Wall, Summer Palace and Tiananmen Square. Sonia was excellent with providing details about each site, navigating the crowds, and helping me with photos. The lunch place they took my too was clean, not overly crowded, authentic and tastv! Definitelv recommend booking with Catherine Lu!

Amazing day touring to Mutianyu section of the wall, followed by Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square! Peter our English speaking tour guide was fantastic and very informative and had every detail covered. We only had one day in Beijing as a long stopover and got to see some amazing places, including airport pickup’s. Highly recommended tour by Catherine Lu Tours.

Had the best tour around all the major sightseeing spots in Beijing to fulfill daughter’s dream to visit the Great Wall of China. Angela, our tour guide, was very professional and knowledgeable, including all the myths and side stories of the emperors and queens. She is also very caring to our daughter and she had a great time!

We had an amazing day with Peter. He was extremely helpful, patient when he needed to be and absolutely knowledgeable. The tour itself was amazing. The day was made special with my parents describing it as the best possible excursion. It was stress free, comfortable and relieved all the initial anxiety they had about such a big trip. Angela was a really knowledgeable, warm, and friendly person with a good sense of humour. She crafted the tour of the Drum and Bell Towers and Hutong area to meet our interests and showed us a side of Beijing we would have been sad to miss. I realised after our tour that I mis-calculated our tip for her and only treated her to about 50p, (GB pence), and she really deserved much more. Sorry Angela! It was a vibrant lively area with many different street food, sweet and souvenir shops, bars with musicians, and a pretty river with boats for hire. We would have loved to spend an evening there, but time did not permit. Angela was very helpful in arranging our taxi back to our hotel at the end of the tour.

Our guide’s (Jenna) explanation was great, and solved all our questions, the spots she took us where perfectly timed for pictures (without crowds) and to understand the Great Wall and the Imperial Palace. She even helped us with the pictures. Overall it was a great and fulfilling experience, with an excellent guide.

A Peking University graduate majoring in History, Peter is very knowledgable about history and backgrounds of various Chinese dynasties making his stories very interesting. Our two-day tour of Beijing was one of our favorite tours we have taken in our lives. The sites were incredible and the ease of transportation made the days relaxing and enjoyable. Our tour guide, Jenny, was the best tour guide we have ever had anywhere!!! She was incredibly kind and knowledgeable, but most importantly, exploring Beijing with her felt like being shown the city by a friend. Wendy was our guide - She is outstanding entusiastic and informative. We went First to the summer Palace and from there to the chinese Wall. Wendy helped us all the Way with arranging and ordering tickets for other projects for vacation. Coming back my wife and i want to go On other tours with the Company wendy is working for!

As we were in Beijing for just two days, this day tour was perfect as we got to see the three most important monuments in Beijing. We choose a private tour and a bus was send for the 6 of us. The tour collected us from the hotel. We got Wendy as the tour guide who was amazing and very knowledgeable of the history. She gave me special care as lunch was provided by the tour and I am vegetarian. She also took us to a tea ceremony which was not part of the tour. She also had VIP access, this was really helpful in the weekend. I highly recommend the private tour as we were flexible on how much time we wanted to spend in each section. Truly a memorable day with Wendy.

Catherine was such a great tour guide. She sorted all the planning, logistics and tickets. Getting tickets to the forbidden city can be difficult if you cant read chinese so to have her get these was great. She also took loads of photos for me. As i was travelling solo this was amazing! She also went above and beyond to customise the tour and book me into a dress up experience so i could wear a traditional.manchu costume at the forbidden city. The great wall was an amazing experience and we got to stay as long as I wanted in time for the sunsey. Thank you so much Catherine. One of the best tours I’ve ever taken. If you’re worried about seeing and learning as much as possible in Beijing, do this tour! Jenny from Catherine Lu Tours was the most knowledgeable and thoughtful tour guide I’ve ever had. She even made sure we were warm enough because the weather was so cold!

This was a great tour, very enjoyable. Our tour guide Peter was very informative and engaging, he had some great knowledge about the history of the Forbidden City and Great Wall. And we got some excellent restaurant tips too. I will recommend the tour to any friends visiting Beijing.

Catherine herself handled our itinerary making sure we get what we came for. Our guide Peter is helpful, knew his history extremely well and very informative. The drivers also gave us excellent service. The local lunch served suit our taste well, We felt like locals! Overall 5 out of 5 !

Initially, I was thinking about doing the city tour but because Forbidden City was sold out, Catherine Lu Tours recommended me to do the Great Wall instead. I was so glad that I did that. My tour guide Peter was very informative and very kind. It was nice to see the Great Wall and Tiananmen Square and Summer Palace with the history explanation. It added a lot of dimension to the experience compared to going solo on my own. For lunch Peter took me to a local restaurant known for good beef noodles (my favorite food) and it was delicious. Lastly, I recommend booking private tours, even though it is more expensive than group tours because you don’t waste your time visiting the souvenir shops. My sincere thanks to Peter and the driver Mr. Lu for the wonderful experience.
