We had such a wonderful time with Stephane. The day was planned perfectly and he coordinated with us in advance to ensure the experience met our desire to visit local champagne producers. We were so lucky to visit during harvest and were able to see the producers in full action. Truly a unique and memorable experience. The lunch cooked by his wife was such a special touch, and visiting with them at their house really added to the day. Don’t hesitate to book with Stephane, you won’t regret it!

Meeting a 73 year old producer who shared 2 old vintage champagnes from his cellar - was on the CIVC de champagne - a true master of his craft. Totally different from the large house tours - an intimate introduction to the grapes and how the process can influence the taste and character of the wines.

Our tour guide Lisa was very knowledgeable and showed us many great sites within the Champagne region! Biggest factor for going on a private tour was having a child. It allowed us to be able to see the champagne houses with ease while learning as much as possible. The family vineyards we visited were great!! I left the tour with a great appreciation for all the hard work that goes into each bottle of Champagne!

Stephane is an excellent local guide in champagne, he explained us Many curiosities and guided us throw two interesting tours of small champagne producers: the first more tecnhicql and the second more specific into wine tasting with the visit of the cellar. I really suggest him and hopefully we will come back again one day! Thank you Stephane for the wonderful day we spent together!!

Stephane was so hospitable and we really enjoyed our tour! We accidentally missed our train (make sure you give yourself plenty of time if you’ve never been) Stephane helped pick us up at a different location with no worries. He was super informative giving us knowledge on the towns and champagnes. We had two different tours and lunch with his wife in his home. We felt very welcomed and everything was so delicious! Thank you again for a great experience and we hope to see you again Stephane!

Stéphane Demissy's private day tour in champagne was absolutely wonderful. We took this tour in the late spring during a 11-day visit to France, and it was absolutely one of the best days of our trip. We visited two small producers and tasted many different champagnes. Stéphane not only had an amazing depth of knowledge about champagne and the region, but also of French culture, politics, history and other topics. He was funny, polite, charming and welcoming. The personal touches were also much appreciated, including an authentic French luncheon served by his wife at his house. We like how he treated us as family guests, and not just as mere tourists. This tour is very highly recommended!

Stéphane was a wonderful tour guide! He made sure the tour ran a leisurely place and was gracious enough to invite us to his place for lunch. The visits to the wineries were delightful and focused on smaller batch and independent champagne makers. Truly an outstanding tour!

The Private Tour was enjoyable. I never liked champagne until I took this tour. From learning how it’s processed to tasting the different varieties of champagne from several wineries, Chamgpagne is now my favorite alcoholic drink. I would recommend this tour to everyone, even if you are a champagne conisseur. Stephane was a great host and very accommodating. Lunch was provided by his wife Priscilla and was very delicious.

Great experience and very well organised. Even during the Covid restrictions we were very comfortable and well looked after. The tour was not rushed and was definitely good value for money. We really enjoyed Jerome’s place and he was very patient with us, we also opted to go to the big champagne house which we found quite impressive. Thanks again very much Stephane 👍 Joe & Ivy

My family and I traveled from Paris to the Champagne region a few days ago and we cannot say enough on how wonderful of a time we had with Stephane! We tasted some of the best Champagne from the smaller houses which was exactly what we were looking for! We've been to the area before and were not interested in going back to the larger Champagne houses that lacked the personal and refined expression of the small houses. We learned a lot and got to see the beautiful French countryside! As an extra special treat we were invited to Stephane's home for a delicious French meal cooked entirely by Stephane's very sweet wife, Prycille! We had so much fun and will be back! Stephane's tour really eased our minds with the current situation that is evolving throughout the world. We are glad we still decided to visit France for vacation afterall!🥂❤🍾

My wife and I had a wonderful experience with Stephane on Valentines Day in Champagne. He provided extremely personalized service and itinerary based on what I had wanted for my wife before we arrived. We were able to meet with two small winemakers and my wife cannot stop talking about the day we had. Stephane is even helping get some of our purchases back to us in the states. One of the most enjoyable experiences was spending lunch with him and his wife in their BnB home. We would not hesitate to do this tour again should we return to Champagne and Stephane is the only person in Champagne we would even consider. A truly memorable experience for the both of us! Merci Mille Fois Stephane! A bientôt!

This was by far a one-of-a-kind experience. My wife and I were celebrating our honeymoon and debated whether or not to “try” and visit Champagne on our own or pay for a guide. Our day with Stéphane was amazing and worth every penny/euro! The train from Paris to Reims was quick and easy and when we arrived Stéphane was waiting for us on the platform. We arrived before the wineries were open so we made our way to the Cathedral of Reims which you can see in the pictures. It was insanely beautiful and even more special because its very similar to Notre Dam which will be closed for repairs for a long time and you won’t be able to visit. Stéphane was very knowledgeable about the Cathedral and it’s history and we had a great time learning about the importance of Reims in French history. We made our way a few minutes across town to Pommery and visited the champagne caves. There are millions of bottles, rich history and so much to see! We had a tasting at Pommery where he taught us about tasting champagne before heading to lunch. We were running a bit behind schedule and although there are many amazing restaurants in the town, Stéphane graciously invited us to his home where his wife cooked us a delicious French meal. Once we left we made our way to his friend’s home who produces very high quality champagne. His friend was very inviting and they taught us about the process of growing the grapes, making champagne, bottling champagne etc...we then tasted a few of the most amazing champagnes we’ve ever had. I’ll let you in on a secret: the larger champagne houses have beautiful grounds, facilities and caves although the smaller houses tend to have much better tasting wines at more reasonable prices. Following our last tasting we headed back to the train station where Stéphane dropped us at the platform and we headed back to Paris...we both slept the entire way home. This was fun, informative and unlike anything you’ll be able to do on your own or in a large group. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special experience while in France.

We were eight friends who did a day tour with Stéphane, and we all loved it. We had specific requests for timing and content to accommodate everyone’s arrivals and preferences, and Stéphane came up with great solutions in a very flexible and pleasant way. He is very knowledgeable and his English fantastic. We started with a fun, informal lunch at his house and later visited two small producers where the owners accompanied us for tours and tastings. Everything was lovely and above expectations.

This was an incredible experience. Stephane is a charming and knowledgeable host, he made us feel immediately comfortable. His English is excellent, he translated easily between the champagne makers and us, so we could ask questions to learn about the process for each producer. The 2 producers he chose to take us we incredibly generous with their time and knowledge. We not only were able to see the facilities where the grapes are processed, we walked in the vineyards and sampled grapes from the vine. And the producers he chose offered gorgeous champagnes at very affordable prices. There is NO WAY we could have had this experience on our own. I would highly recommend this adventure, it was the highlight of our trip, we loved it.

I cannot say enough about this tour — Stephane was amazing and we finished the day feeling like we were part of Champagne! Stephane is so well connected and chose two smaller champagne producers. We started the day with a typical French breakfast (packed by Stephane) in a uniquely placed walled vineyard. Here we met Jerome whose passion for Champagne was immediately evident. We learned the entire process from start to finish and both Stephane and Jerome interwove personal stories as we toured the production rooms and caves. After a tasty lunch in a nearby village we hopped over to another Grand Cru village where we met Jean-Paul...what a character! Jean-Paul was equally passionate about his champagne but completely different in his production. It goes without saying that we bought 37 bottles between the two houses — no purchases were actually required but the taste was like nothing we have had before. We ended our day in Hautevillers for a taste in a larger champagne house. This is not necessary but we are glad we added it because we were able to compare first hand the difference between the smaller producers and a larger one - the smaller produces were exponentially better and we left this house without any bottles ;-). Stephane was kind enough to take us to Dom Pérignon’s Abby and gravesite as we were so close. In closing - please do not hesitate booking this tour. You expectations will be exceeded in every respect! Thank you thank you Stephane!

What a spectacular experience! Stephane picked up my wife and me at our hotel, and then drove us out to the Montagne de Reims. We stopped at the Champagne Couvreur-Prak house, and were guided by its owner through the entire process of the champagne wine produced there. Both Stephane and Sombath had very expert knowledge of the production, the distribution, and the product itself. They were both very kind with their time, and we got to taste six different champagnes including two vintages. And the end of the tour we had the opportunity to purchase the wines we tasted, and they took care of shipping for us. After that, Stephane drove us through a couple of the villages and their vineyards; even in the rain, it was a gorgeous drive, and Stephane provided wonderful conversation. Finally, we were dropped off back at our hotel, with a dinner suggestion, ideas of what more to do in Reims, and an offer for a different unique experience with Stephane when we come back to Reims. I would recommend this to every single person who comes to visit Reims!

Spending a day with Stephane as your guide in the Champagne region is an experience to treasure forever. He is very responsive to communications, and extremely organized and prepared. The day begins with breakfast and coffee overlooking quaint villages and vineyards. A tour of a small-production vineyard feels less like a tourist event and more like chatting with and learning about a friend’s business. Very personable and relaxed. And the champagne, of course, is fantastic (and tasting the grapes off the vine was a fortuitous highlight because of the timing of my visit). The day included a very tasty lunch in one of the many charming villages. Conversation with Stephane was easy and interesting. He spent the afternoon showing me some unforgettable places in the area. From rare trees to inland lighthouses and drinking champagne while surrounded by vineyards, the day was spectacular. He even took and sent me photos of me enjoying my amazing champagne day. THANK YOU, Stephane. I hope to see you again for another tour.

This was a wonderful way to experience the Champagne region and learn about the wine making process. Stephane made this a special experience and really tailored our time to our group. I brought my children and he made sure they were welcome and had something to drink as well!

I booked this tour through Airbnb experiences, but it is the exact same tour (and price) with Stephane - he asked me if I could share my experience here as well, so I have added my review here for those who might be trying to decide whether to book. It was a very special experience, and I have to admit that at first I was hesitant about booking due to the high price, but decided to take a chance based on the other positive reviews. In the end I felt it was worthwhile, and Stephane did a great job to make the tour a fantastic and unique experience. He speaks English perfectly, is professional and friendly, and very responsive to our questions on the tour, which I really appreciated. I was on the tour together with my brother. This was our first time to the Champagne region, and although we have previously visited other wine regions in the world, but it was the first time in France and learning specifically about Champagne and doing tasting. First of all, I felt that I learned a TON of new things about the wine making process and the efforts that go into it, but also so much new information about the cultural and historical heritage of the region, which is fascinating as well. I think without such an expert to take us around and giving such a comprehensive tour and explanation, we would have not seen all these different aspects to the region and the wine. Stephane even gave us very interesting insights and perspectives into the business and marketing perspective of Champagne. Second, Stephane being a local and native of the region, he took us to smaller vineyard and winemaker that we would never have found by ourselves, and got to try many different champagnes from that maker on the tour. I think this was also quite unique because when we were doing research online before booking this tour, we did not see so many opportunities to visit the smaller vineyards through other means. I really enjoyed learning about the personal journey and winemaking philosophy of Sombath, the winemaker we met. There were also opportunities to buy Champagne, of course. Third, the entire day's itinerary was very well-planned - it felt relaxed but we still got to do and see a lot of things. The meals provided by Stephane and his wife Prycille were also fantastic. In addition to the food and wine being delicious, it was also very much an experience in local culinary culture for us. I am not sure if we will be back in the region any time soon, but I recommend anyone visiting the area to contact Stephane about his tours - he also has shorter tours and tasting-only events if you don't have a whole day. If we return again, we will definitely find Stephane for more tastings!
