Although I bet any tour guide you have will be incredible, my family and I were lucky enough to have Sheldon lead our tour. What a fantastic experience. In my many times of visiting NYC (7+), I have never learned so much. I saw things I’ve never seen before, and gained so much new info on slights I’ve been to many times. I know have a completely new perspective on certain monumental places in the city, and I am eager to learn more. Sheldon is a gem. He will keep you on your toes both with his facts, and his jokes. He is one of the smartest, humble, and charismatic individuals you will ever meet. Thank you Sheldon!

Our tour guide was one of the best I’ve ever encountered. He was an encyclopedia of knowledge and had interesting back stories to bring sites to life. He was pleasant and user-friendly. Chris, our guide and Gregory, our driver were fantastic! Chris shared all sorts of stories about each area, the history, interesting anecdotes etc. He has lived here his entire life and is very knowledgeable. We saw all the areas etc that one wants to see on a first time visit to NYC. We even stopped to have a quick lunch, pizza, in the West Village. Gregory was a very competent driver ! We had a great experience on our private tour! We had a short visit planned right before Christmas, and Best New York Tours made sure we had an amazing tour experience given our limited time in New York. The company owner Sheldon called me personally shortly after we booked the tour to explain the process and also share some tips for our visit, including a list of his restaurant recommendations for our trip. On the day of our tour, our driver and tour guide picked up my family in a clean and comfortable new Lincoln Navigator right out front of our hotel in Manhattan. Before we got going, our tour guide Chris asked if there were any particular sights we wanted to see and then tailored our 7-hour tour to meet our requests. It was nice being able to be dropped off and then picked up at the various locations with our tour guide, who regaled us with fascinating stories and interesting information and jokes! Chris went above and beyond to meet our requests. I had joked that I would like to meet a celebrity on the tour, and Chris made it happen! During a lunch stop at Chelsea Market, which allowed my family to meet our various food preferences, Chris found a celebrity who was at the market and even arranged for the celebrity to take a photo with us! Of course, Chris himself is a celebrity, as a veteran actor you may have seen on TV or heard on one of your favorite video games. It was great listening to Chris weave New York's history and culture through the perspective of personal stories he told of growing up and living in the New York area. As we finished up our day visiting the 9/11 Memorial, Chris shared his personal perspective on the tragic events of 9/11 and the impact it had on New York and the world, which was especially informative and educational for my teenage daughters who were born after 2001. The trip and guide was amazing. We let him take us to his favorites and were thrilled with the itinerary. Our guide, Marshall is a lifelong New Yorker and knows the back story and history of the sites. It was fabulous for my daughters and granddaughters to discover NYC in such a personal, and historical way!!

This was an amazing experience, especially with us being first time visitors. We got to experience so much of New York in a day. The tour guide had such knowledge of the city that we got to see the big attractions, like the Statue of Liberty, but also things we would have never found on our own like the greatness of Joe's pizza. The tour guide also helped us with our first subway ride that we were intimidated by and let us expereince something we would have gotten to experience otherwise. Highly recommend!!!!

Sheldon is the best. We have had him do multiple tours with family and friends and all agree he is the most personable and fascinating tour guy we have ever met. His knowledge on history and current events is above anyone else. He knows all there is to know about New York and makes it come alive! And he gives fascinating tours of historical places and even European tours.

We had such an awesome experience with Berenice in October 2022, that we came back ( from California) for a Christmas tour with her this December 2023! Berenice, along with her driver, Alex, were a lot of fun. We were able go to all the sights we wanted to see ( without worrying about traffic or parking) and learned a lot about NYC! Berniece, our private tour guide, and Alex, our driver were both top notch. Not only were they excellent at their tour guiding and driving, but they went above and beyond to include and assist my 4 year and elderly parents. We were able to see everything we wanted to see in our 5 hour tour all while being comfortable in a brand new escalade. Berniece made fun balloons, brought gifts, and took photos for us so that we could focus on enjoying the sights and sounds of NYC! The tour company provided a car seat upon request and Alex helped my daughter in and out at each stop. They made our tour a success!

We came to NY for my daughter’s 13th as it’s been her wish since forever. This tour was the first thing we did when we got here and I’m so glad we did! We did the 7 hour tour so we were able to hit all the sights on her list, eat the best pizza slice in Brooklyn and still make it back in time for our broadway show. The best part was the immersive learning experience Sheldon gave us. We learned so much from him and I’ll be eternally grateful. The name rings true…truly the best New York tour I’ve ever had!

It couldn't be better. We had tours on two different days. Each tour guide was unique and brilliant. We loved both of them. We loved the drivers too! This is the best way to get an overview of NYC. It's almost impossible to do it correctly by yourself. The owner of the tour company, Sheldon, is totally committed to the complete satisfaction of his customers. Go for it!

Sheldon’s communication was great prepping us with details before our tour. Berenice was an amazing tour guide full of details that made our custom tour perfect. We took our parents to NYC for their first time and Berenice made sure we were able to hit the highlights we were most interested in. My father is 80 with back issues and was able to get back in the van when he was ready and really enjoyed visiting with our driver. We only did 4 hours so it gave us an opportunity to briefly visit places to see where we would go back to spend more time. My husband and I have been to NYC several times but this was a great way to tour with family members that haven’t been. We would definitely book again and request Berenice.

Last week we booked our second family tour and Marshal Stevenson, one of Sheldon’s guides showed us all the Brooklyn’s sights. He exposed us to neighborhoods’ history, restoration, and cultures developed over many years. Our favorite view was from DUMBO Park and the Manhattan skyline. Our driver, Russ, safely and efficiently transported us through traffic and narrow streets. We enjoyed the best views, the best Key Lime Pie, and the “second best” pizza slices. Dan and Roberta

Our family took the private tour with Bernice as our guide and she was absolutely fabulous! I cannot say enough about her expertise and willingness to get us everywhere we wanted to go. It was a 4 hour tour and she managed to fit everything in. We were picked up at our hotel and Bernice was smiling and ready to get us on our way. She was full of information, enthusiastic, helpful, and tailored our tour for both my older parents and the younger kids. She even took all of our photos at the sites! Bernice is super friendly and even called us the next day to ask if we needed any assistance. I would do another tour with Bernice in a heartbeat!
