An amazing day!!! Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, Custer State Park, and Needles Scenic Highway. It was all incredible, but my favorites are the beauty of the rock formations on the Needles Highway and Crazy Horse Memorial (so very moving!) What a perfect tour. Denny picked us up at 9:15 from our Bed and breakfast Summer Creek. Denny was a great tour guide with all the history. We first went to see Mount Rushmore, then Crazy horse and our favorite Needles.

We finally took our South Dakota trip off the "Bucket List", and Carrie with Black Hills Adventure Tours arranged for our guided tours during this sightseeing event the middle of September. Originally we considered a "Self Guided Tour with Rental Car", but fortunately we discovered Black Hills Adventure Tours and arranged our "Private Sightseeing Tour". Mickey was our assigned tour guide, and she was a real pleasure to be with during our tours. Mickey is retired military and lives in the South Dakota area, providing local knowledge about the attractions surrounding Rapid City, South Dakota. Day one began with pickup at the Rushmore Hotel for a day of touring the Mt. Rushmore/Crazy Horse/Needles Hwy/Custer State Park areas. Lots of wildlife and we even saw a buffalo herd crossing the parkway! Day two took us to the Minuteman Missile Silo Historic Site/Badlands National Park and Walls Drug Store. We even had ice cream at the Walls Drug Store after lunch. Day three we toured Sturgis/Deadwood/Spearfish Canyon and the Devils Tower National Monument in Wyoming. All three tours included van transportation, professional guide, park admission fees, water/snacks and lunch daily at excellent restaurants. Our tours began at 8:30 each morning and ended around 4:30 each afternoon. We highly recommend the Black Hills Adventure Tour company.

We chose to do a private tour to maximize time actually experiencing all the area has to offer, while avoiding crowded buses and the floundering companions that comes with them. Our guide, Aura was exceptional, she ensured our tour was a memorable experience. The benefits of this service were well worth the minimal cost especially since, all admissions, snacks, lunch, parking and knowledge of the area are taken care of for you. Black Hills Adventure Tours is our go to guide service on our next trip to the area, with a personal request for Aura!

Wonderful educational time, our tour guide was very knowledgeable of the area and gave us extra stops along the way that most tours wouldn’t be privy to.

I had a blast on this tour with Mark. We visited Mt. Rushmore, the needles, and passed by Keystone and Hill City. He was knowledgeable, took us to the best spots, was prepared with snacks and he was one of the kindest persons I have met, Can’t recommend enough

We had a terrific time in South Dakota! To our most pleasant surprise, the same person (hi Mark!) that would guide us through the Black Hills was also our go-to greet person at the airport upon arrival. It only took a few minutes to get a feel of what a warm hearted and highly motivated person Mark is. We got a fully immersive experience into this side of the US, by a true local! From small anecdotes to hidden gems, my mother and I were constantly captured by the beauty of the Black Hills and all it has to offer. We couldn’t recommend Mark more - his endless enthusiasm, expertise and passion made our trip a truly unforgettable experience. Not a second went by where we didn’t feel cared for, looked after or safe. If you’re looking for a reliable, proactive (Mark will help you get the best shot at Mount Rushmore, the many tunnels on Custer State Park and the Wildlife Loop), experienced and passionate local to show you around; then look no further. We already look forward to coming back and tasting more of Ma Barker’s homemade treats! Thank you again Mark.

We did a private driving tour of the Black Hills Monuments and Custer Park. Our guide, Tim, was so insightful. He was was so knowledgeable about the history of the area and had great stories. The best tour guide. From the booking to end of our tour, everything was easy and very professional. We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to go back!

Amazing tour of the historic South Dakota monuments. Our guide, Mark Barker, a life long South Dakota resident was incredible showing us the expected sights but also the out of the way places that are off the tourist maps. Book this trip and ask for Mark!

Our guide Denny was awesome! Stopped at fantastic locations to get the best photos! He was extremely knowledgeable and interesting! We had the perfect day!

Our tour guide, although personable and knowledgeable, didn't take us to the places we had signed up for. We went to the needles hwy, we toured the great roads of the Iron Mt. Road, and Sylvan Lake. She wanted to go to lunch at a resort at Sylvan Lake but thankfully it wasn't ready for lunch yet. We had thought we would get to see Custer Park and Mt. Rushmore but were told that it cost extra although our $650.00 fee had claimed we would go there. We did get hamburgers for lunch at a nice place outside of town. It was okay but we still had to pay to go to the places that we already had paid for. I would like to have seen at least Custer Park, we were looking forward to seeing the bison which when we went on our own later in the afternoon, we missed the bison, besides it cost us more to enter the park. Just very frustrating when we only had 3 days to try to see it all and took the tour expecting to see most of the highpoints.

We just returned from a wonderful trip to South Dakota, with Denny G as our tour guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable, gave superb recommendations, and made the whole experience special and memorable. From the insights about the Crazy Horse monument to the chokeberries he found at Devils Tower, we gained a real appreciation for the region from a gentleman who clearly knows and loves it. We are very grateful.

Our guide, Mickey, was amazing. Her knowledge of the area along with knowing all the right roads to take was impressive We are an active family so Mickey found amazing hiking/walking trails along the lake, along with picnic area we could stretch our legs and walk or take a hike. Mount Rushmore is a beautiful site … watching the movie is a must…those people had amazing skills back then even without our technology. The Black Hills are a true treasure along with this adventure group.

Our guide Mike was excellent and gave us a lot of information and stopped at all the best stops! It was worth every penny to not have to drive this ourselves!!
