We had a 3 hour walking tour with Mark. He gave us a great historical understanding of the city and was extremely knowledgeable. He covered all the important sites we wanted to see and had a great sense of humor. You could tell how much he loved Amsterdam and sharing his knowledge with us. We would highly recommend taking this tour and Mark!

Took the private walking tour with Lee on our second day in Amsterdam. It was a great way to get to know the city early in the trip and learn a lot of history of the area. Lee met us at our hotel and we started from there, she is very knowledgeable on Amsterdam and was able to answer any questions we had. She also advised us on some great restaurants to visit which we did and wasn’t disappointed. Highly recommend this tour.

Mark was an amazing tour guide. He is so passionate about art. Having him guide us through the museums gave us a different experience than had we gone on our own. He was so knowledgeable not only about the art but the history of Amsterdam. He also gave us great recommendations for restaurants and other things to do during our visit. Mark was the best !! A very knowledgeable and fun man to spend time with learning about the history and idiosyncrasies of Amsterdam. He loves Amsterdam and so will you. He will tailor the trip to what you prefer. We were interested in little streets and neighborhood canals and he certainly delivered we stopped at this super Cafe for cake and coffee, Pompadour which was a delight. Then we stopped for the famous fries and mayo..yum yum. We absolutely enjoyed all the interesting facts and whete we were located at each moment. Highly recommend !! He is a super guide!!!

We had a marvelous experience with Mark. He tailored the tour so specifically to our interests, checked out what we were most excited by and geared our time together to provide a bit of everything -- like a good tasting menu in an excellent restaurant. Even though we have lived in Amsterdam five times for six months, and I have researched a book there, we learned a lot in our three hours. In addition to being quite charming, Mark is extremely knowledgeable about the city. He made sure he know what our family's interests were and spoke to those as we walked. We stopped in interesting places along the way. He even weaved into the tour a stop at a comic shop my husband wanted to visit. The tour gave us a great overview of the city - it's history, culture and some quirky notes - and it allowed us to orient ourselves at the outset of our trip. As a repeat customer, I can confirm that Mark is great. He gives you a mix of history of the city, local unknown spots, and current events and culture. He keeps it entertaining but informative. He also gave us a ton of great recommendations for restaurants and spots to visit. My girlfriend and I (both age 26) appreciated his great camera skills and knowledge of good photo spots. We did both the city walking tour and the Rijksmuseum tour.

Late May 2022, I arranged a small private tour of central Amsterdam with Mark. We walked down small streets that one would never think of going, and Mark gives you culture, architecture, and history. Mark has loads of suggestions for dining, shopping, etc. I have also been on numerous virtual tours with Mark which helped me plan visits to other cities and attractions while in the Netherlands and Belgium. His selection of sights to see and places to visit...many of which we would never have known on our own....were so much fun. We HIGHLY recommend Mark, That Dam Guide! We had an extraordinary tour of Keukenhof Gardens and the Tulip fields. Mark met us at our hotel and drove to the Gardens. He walked with us through the beautiful gardens, pointing out the highlights, subtle sights and photo opps. He moved us along at a good pace - it would be easy to spend days there! After touring Keukenof Gardens, we drove through the tulip fields, stopping to enjoy the sights and take pictures. Mark gave us good tips for photography, too. We went to a quaint, out of the way restaurant for lunch - loved it! Mark guided us through the interesting Dutch menu. We finished with a brief walking tour through the town of Haarlem. Mark gave us a history lesson and pointed out interesting sights. It was a full day with plenty of walking, and stops for rest along the way. We enjoyed the entire experience! Our thanks to an excellent guide!

Mark is a truly fabulous tour guide. We spent 2 days with him seeing both Amsterdam and the beautiful countryside. He picked fabulous places to showcase the country, taste wonderful food (warm chocolate cookies, delicious lunches and even made reservations for us at a wonderful Indonesian restaurant. He took into consideration the mobility issues of our group and made a truly memorable experience for us. If you can, book the private tours. They are truly amazing.

Mark does a wonderful job of tailoring the tour to your interests and needs. I was on a small travel mobility scooter that required adaptive routing. All was handled smoothly as if part of the original plan. His knowledge and ability to communicate that knowledge is first rate. All is tied into a narrative that takes you on a story arc that coincides with the physical journey. We totally enjoyed our time with Mark.
