My husband and I enjoyed a delightful evening with Vitor at his cooking studio. We had a private 4 course dinner full of conversation, good food and wine. Vitor is warm and welcoming and we especially loved being made to feel like we were being welcomed into the home of a good friend. A delightful experience!

We had an amazing and memorable night with Viktor and Antonio from Cooking in Ribeira. While the group was eclectic and diverse, and started with reserve and timidity, by the end of the night we were all laughing and hugging. Chef Viktor using food, as the common bond, helped us to understand the history, traditions and basic skills of Portuguese cooking. Divided into groups for appetizers, soup, main course, side dishes and desserts we sliced, diced, stirred and simmered while listening to history and stories. "The soup must be like silk!" We collaborated with strangers, explained our dishes to the groups based on Chef's prompts, and humor (along with a generous amount of wine) kept us laughing and sharing into the night. We surprised ourselves with dishes that were in fact quite delicious. We learned a lot and had a most enjoyable and memorable evening. I would highly recommend the experience.

As a tour operator, this was my second time having our group experience this fantastic cooking class with Cook Ribeira and our chef Vitor. The quality of the food, the inclusion of our guests preparing the food, and Vitor's wonderful and engaging personality, made this day one of the highlights of the tour. It's truly masterful how Vitor can handle 14 guests at one time and deliver such an awesome food experience.

This experience was fabulous. We have done other cooking classes in Europe and have always enjoyed them. You learn to make great food and get to connect with at least one local person - so fun! Vitor was a great host. We had his spacious kitchen all to ourselves (our family of 5 - kids aged 9, 11, and 17). As Vitor is a great dad himself, he easily involved all the kids in the food prep and everyone genuinely enjoyed themselves. The food was super delicious and he even had a great solution when I accidentally oversalted a dish. We learned so much about the Portuguese people and what it's like to live there. It was just such a fun morning that we all enjoyed so much. Thank you Vitor!!

Our family of 5 adults had a delightful, delicious and educational experience learning to cook in the traditional Portuguese style with Vitor! His instructions and insight to the culture of Portugal was insightful and fun. My family enjoyed the event as it was interactive and involved all five of us. I learned to make a fish stock, while my wife learned to bake an almond pie. We enjoyed a meal of grilled chorizo, steamed clams, and an entree of shrimp with rice. We all enjoyed the technique of floating the raw shrimp on a bed of herbs as they cooked into the stock. The Portuguese wine pairing was superior. Vitor was warm, welcoming, and is a true ambassador, spreading his love for the culture of Porto and Portugal. This was an amazing experience, and well worth the cost. We would take another class from Vitor on our next visit to Porto! My family all HIGHLY RECOMMEND Cook in Ribeira!

This was an amazing experience - a highlight of our 11 days in Portugal! Vitor and Andre were so patient with all 8 of us, and taught us so much while interspersing their teaching with lots of humor and information about Portugal and it’s people and culture. We LOVED this class and would highly recommend it! We also enjoyed meeting the other couples!

The whole experience was incredible! Vitor provided us the best tips, the best food, the best wines and also the best atmosphere. We have spent 4 splendid hours at Cook in Ribeira and we've enjoyed, as a team, of 4 great courses and good conversations while we were cooking and drinking. I do highly recommend this place and I wish to Vitor many years of success!

We had a lovely experience with Vitor and other class members during our cooking class. I managed to screw up the time and our group showed up an hour late. Vitor was very accommodating and made sure we were able to maximize our time. Our group ranged from a 1 year old to 70. Everyone loved it! We had a lot of laughs cooking, learning, and enjoyed a delicious meal. This was a highlight from our trip to Porto. Don’t miss taking a class!!! I can’t wait to go back.

One of the best cooking classes we have taken. A beautiful kitchen, delicious recipes and the most wonderful hosts. Vitor and Andre made us feel so comfortable as though we had been friends for a long time. We started with a Porto Tonic cocktail and some delicious bread and cheese, presented in a beautiful manner (that I plan emulate at my next dinner party). The recipes were perfect for our taste and (seafood allergy). We learned to prepare a fish stock which was the base for an amazing vegetable fish soup. The stock was used in the fish with rice main dish. We also learned to prepare a wonderful almond tart, delicious, super easy and quick. A winning combination. Highly recommend- we loved it!

I couldn't leave a more positive review of our class with Vitor and Andre. Both chefs were so welcoming and they easily accommodated the food allergies among the group. Our meal consisted of smoked chorizo and cheese as an appetizer, followed by clams in a white wine sauce, then sea bass with tomato rice, topped off with a cheese curd pie for dessert. Each course was paired with a delicious portuguese wine (if you are lucky, Vitor will break out his favorite Vihno Verde which is to die for). The class was filled with laughter and great conversation throughout. Cooking in Riberia is an absolute must for those visiting Porto!!

Viktor picked us up and drove us to to the fish market in Matosinhos where we chose what we wanted to cook. Then back to the kitchen for much learning and laughter. With Viktor guidance we were brilliant chefs and made the most delicious meal. Best fish ever! Thank you, Viktor!

My family and I had a very special evening of cooking, wine tasting and conversation with Vitor and Paula. We have many food allergies and Vitor crafted a wonderful meal around all of them! Delicious appetizers of cheese, olives and roasted sausage, paired with a lovely white wine. Followed by hands on preparing of the veggies (onions, squash, cauliflower, peppers, cilantro, carrots, and rice). A great stock is the secret to great including thst fish head saved from another dish. The seabass was chopped and shrimp devained. All along we had a great conversation about cooking, life, Portuguese history and more. Delicious dinner and a wonderful evening. Topped off with a sheep curd and tomato jam dessert. This is my new go to surprise for guests. I highly recommend Cooking in Ribeira for a great private or public class.

This was an amazing experience! Starting with Desert, Chorizo, Rice, Clams, Shrimp and Sea Bass were all fun to prepare and simply awesome to partake. Would highly recommend!
