Antonella was our guide and she is great. So knowledgeable of Pompeii and the surrounding areas. Seeing Pompeii with an individual tour is a great way to go. Was able to ask questions and I love how she makes you think like an archeologist.

Even though some things about life in Pompei is conjecture, Paolo made the experience and life in their time very understandable. My only regret was we only had 2 hr tour and then another 1 hr on our own which was not enough time as the site is so enormous. Probably would suggest a minimum of 4hrs.

My husband and I LOVED our tour with Mena! She’s spent her life studying Pompeii and had so many fascinating facts to pack into our two hour tour. She brought the city to life, I wish we could have had her with us the whole day! But she did a fabulous job taking us around to some of the most important points of interest and then giving us advice on what to check out with the rest of our time. And not to mention directions, since, again, Pompeii is a city! She even took us to one of the newly uncovered villas which was amazing to see with its colors still so vibrant. Also we had an issue with the trains delaying our arrival, but Mena was very understanding and still gave us a full two hours even though we arrived late. Pompeii is such a massive site, I would recommend hiring a guide to anyone to get the most out of your time there.

We were worried that the rain would interfere with our tour but it did not impact it in the least. In fact, the weather actually added to our sense of the place. Our guide was upbeat, extremely knowledgable, professional and personable. While a private tour was pricey for 2 people it was totally worth it focused on the history, events and areas that were most interesting to us. We learned an amazing amount and had fun!

Sara is a very knowledgeable guide. Only being in Pompei for half of the day, it was a great way to see the highlights and learn as much in this limited time.

Our tour guide Julia was fabulous! She was a plethora of knowledge and so passionate about history! We appreciated hearing about the strong successful business women from the Roman era. Julia was able to not only answer our questions, in addition she made it such a fun experience with her modern day analogies. Honestly my best friend and I love historical structures. We felt so blessed to have experienced the beauty of Pompei. We especially appreciated the original font, paintings and beautiful marble on the buildings. It was incredible to be able to see the views that the Roman's did many years ago, especiallyof Mount Vesuvius. Throughout our whole tour we felt like we were walking back in time. Seeing Pompeii was at the top of my Bucket List so I wanted to make sure I had the deepest, closest experience I could get and decided to book the 3-hour private tour with Askos. From start to finish the experience was great. Askos had great communication with me and arranged for my guide Giovanna to meet me at the entrance to Pompeii. What a delight! We spent 3 hours in the blazing heat together visiting the streets and villas of Pompeii and the Villa of the Mysteries. She knowledgably answered my questions and soon tapped into my enthusiasm for history. Her personal approach and likable demeanor made the hours go so quickly. I learned so much from her and at the end of the time I felt I had not only been given a great introduction to Pompeii but I had made a friend. After the tour you can stay until the site closes, which I did and upon Gio's advice I went into everything that was open! The next day I also visited another archeological site she had recommended and it was just as she had said: amazing. The tour was great and Giovanna's expertise made it so. Thanks for making my visit to Pompeii the highlight of my trip.

Tour was informative; however, would have been helpful if the guide was able to communicate more efficiently; thought we could have seen more too!
