What an amazing tour. Thank you so much to Giovanni, our driver, for collecting us from the meeting point and navigating us gently through the Napoli traffic to Pompeii, then on to Herculaneum, and finally back home. He also shared his knowledge with on the way, pointing out key landmarks. At the sites we were escorted by Vincenzo. His knowledge was phenomenal. Everyone in our small group really enjoyed the day. Amazing tour! We had three teenagers with us and they loved it too. Ivan was our tour guide and he was, not only extremely knowledgeable, but also so great to our entire family! Wear comfortable shoes - it's a long day. Bring water and snacks because you are walking a lot! I would recommend this to anyone visiting the area.

Benedetto had a PhD in archeology and was a wonderful guide. Very knowledgeable and engaging. Would highly recommend. Raphaelle our driver was lovely and recommended a lovely place for lunch.

Ivan was an amazing guide. He was a wealth of information and was able to give personal context as he excavated some of the sights we saw himself. Ivan was engaging with our children as well. He was able to show us more interesting sections of Pompeii away from the large crowds of other tours. Additionally, Giovanni was our driver for two tours during our trip. He was an excellent driver making us feel safe the entire time. He also took us for a wonderful breakfast and gave our kids little gifts. He is such a sweet man and we very much enjoyed our two days with him. I would only use Askos Tours for any future trips to Italy.

The ASKOS driver Giovanni was really wonderful. His English was limited but communicated very well. He was clear on where we would meet after the school tour section. He was very pleasant and got a a back to the train station in plenty of time. His driving was excellent, we never felt nervous. Antonio the archeologist was excellent. It’s only a four star because there was so much ch to see and not enough time to absorb. But Antonio did a great job with the time we had. I suggest people don’t visit during The aster week! Other than that Italy was amazing.

We had a great day touring both Pompeii and Herculaneum. Giovanni, our driver, was amazing. He charmed our kids and was a great host.

This was an amazing experience! If you get the chance to visit Naples you have to book this tour. Our driver Giovanni was amazing to watch him drive with ease through the busy streets of Naples to our tour guide Ivan with an amazing amount of knowledge of both Pompeii & Herculaneum. Both made our trip special sharing the knowledge they have about Naples. This was a bucket list trip and they made it incredible.

Amazing tour with an amazing guide, Raphael, and an amazing driver Giovanni. Raphael was very knowledgeable without being too technical, he was entertaining and funny too. Giovanni was a great driver, collecting us before the start, arranging a great lunch for our group and dropping us back to the start. Can highly recommend this tour, Pompeii is magical, as is Herculaneum, I want to go again!

Booked a Pompeii/Herculaneum 1/2 day tour. Was awesome!!! Everything was perfect from the pickup point to our driver- Giovanni who was so great! He was informative and made the travel so enjoyable. He made reservations for us a restaurant which I thought the food was excellent. He assisted us with information on other places to walk and explore after our drop off. Once at the sites, Rafael made the tour enjoyable and fun with little jokes here and there. Totally impressed!!! We had thought to do the tour ourselves or even meet at the site and skip the transport. Using the transport made it easy, simple and enjoyable.

Wonderful trip of Pompeii and Herculaneum with an archaeologist. We had such an amazing time and made wonderful memories. It was amazing. It was a great experience. Both the driver Francesco and the Archeologist Giulia was a great company. Francesco took us from the meeting point in front of Napole Centrale. We met Giulia at the gates of Pompei Parco and enjoyed a nice walk on the east side of Pompei and after the whole Herculanum Park. It was raining during the start of the tour, but it is manageable with rain ponchos. Herculanum is a small town, with better conservation. Pompei is world famous. We missed the amphitheater and arena in Pompei to go to Herculanum in the same day. Over all it was a great experience and I would do it again. Bring a shoe fit to walk in irregular terrain.

Francesco and Paolo were great! Francesco got to our group pickup site early, communicated great with folks from 3 different countries in the van, and provided a stress free ride in a spacious and comfortable vehicle. Paolo led a great tour that never felt rushed. He answered all levels of questions asked from the group (from the silly ones to the complicated ones). His archeology background allowed him to provide context and history that I'm certain would have been missed going on a large group tour. I highly recommend this tour!

Our trip to Pompeii and Herculaneum was a highlight of our Italy vacation. The driver Francesco Calenda was prompt, safe, and the utmost professional. Our guide, Michele Lamberti was extremely knowledgeable, adding his own perspective as an archaeologist to the tour. We had two children with us who are still raving about our exploration of these two archaeological parks. Book this tour with confidence!

I went on the tour with my Dad and we both loved it! We got picked up by Francesco Calenda who took us straight to the ruins, if your thinking of doing it definitely get the one with transport between sites included he was super nice and made our day so much easier! Michele Lamberti was the name of our guide for both sites and I couldn't recommend him highly enough! He's an experienced archaeologist which meant we got an amazingly in depth tour with an emphasis on the more technical side of both sites. He also made going to Herculaneum make a lot of sense and pointed out some awesome stuff we probably wouldn't have seen/understood otherwise. 10/10 would do again next time :)

Had a great time on our Pompei and Herculaneum trip! Our driver Francesco was very attentive and our tour guide Diego was a super enthusiastic and informative archeologist! Would highly recommend seeing both sites, both are truly breathtaking.

Alfredo was amazing and answered all of our questions patiently even when people asked a question he'd already answered. There were lots of tourists there but we didn't feel we were pressurised or bothered. We had a slight worrying start as we'd booked with Viator and couldn't find them and hadn't really been told we were on an Askos tour.

This was an incredible experience worth every penny! My wife and I were picked up at our hotel in Napoli by Giovanni in a private Mercedes van. He delivered the two of us to Pompeii in the morning, then to Herculanuem just after lunch, and then back to our hotel in the afternoon. Ivan, our Archaeologist and guide for the day, met us in Pompeii and stayed with us - just Ivan and the 2 of us - for the entire day. What an experience he gave us! He has dug at both sites for over 20 years, discovering bodies and buildings, and helping to unearth homes and businesses at both sites. His deep knowledge and first-hand explanation of the culture, people and engineering of the towns made the tour of both sites so much more insightful than a self-guided or group tour ever could. His detailed explanation of the very different impacts that the Vesuvius eruption had on each town (Pompeii buried under a rain of 300 degree ash, Herculaneum leveled by landslides of 600 degree volcanic molten rock) created very different sites to work, and preserved each site very differently. We loved this experience and highly recommend it.
