What a remarkably informative and entertaining walking tour of West Cork and the Wild Atlantic Way! Connor is a wonderful storyteller well versed in the history and lore of the land. He skillfully brings local history to life and shares an intimate narrative of the people, culture and environment during a beautiful walk along the coast. As a visitor from the U.S., I’ve had opportunity to spend time in this part of Ireland but this is the first time I’ve been afforded a glimpse into how this region was central to the development of the country and Europe. Even better, a picnic lunch with hyperlocal food is a scrumptious cap to a delightful day.

Breathtakingly beautiful hike off the beaten path, while learning so much about the coast, the land, the history. Connor is so charming and the scones are divine! I have been to Ireland several times but this will be the visit that “left a mark” for a significant experience on a magnificent vacation.

I would really recommend this tour for people who like history, stories and a chance to walk in beautiful countryside. Conor was an excellent host. The picnic lunch at the end was wonderful.

Just what I wanted: to get out walking in the beautiful countryside with someone who knows the land like the back of his hand, tells the stories behind the place names, AND brings a picnic lunch! We walked past fields of cows to the rocky shore and heard about the Irish language names pre-dating the English ones, and the insight they gave us to how people lived, ate, worked, played, & survived before modern times; lots of examples! We visited three beaches, all different with different stories, and came to the harbour with the loveliest -seriously old- graveyard. Listening to the well-told story of how this harbour was crucial to larger world events, we ate a fine picnic lunch and had an option to go for a paddle or swim after. I had a great time, saw the land more closely, and learned a bit of history, all with an easy walkabout. Delightful.

It was truly a stroke of luck to find Conor, Celine and Górmu in mid-July. Conor provided the most interesting and informative tour I have ever been on and the scenery was mind-blowing! Conor even adjusted the tour to include a battlefield I was interested in when the rain hit so hard we had to tour the battlefield from the car. The lunch was truly artesian with everything Irish-made and Irish-caught AND homemade scones! Conor and Celine do not skimp on the finer things in life- the Irish cheese was AMAZING! It is hard for me to imagine a guide who knows Irish history and the Irish language better than Conor. Stunning scenery, gourmet lunch and great storytelling- you can’t go wrong with this tour or the other tours offered by this company ( I signed up for 3 more after this one:-)

The one hour drive from Cork city through the gorgeous countryside was well worth it! I am not surprised by the consistent 5 Star reviews listed for Gormú's walking tour. My 16 year old and I had the most wonderful time listening to and talking with Conor. It was like we met with an old friend for a chat and delicious picnic lunch. There isn't much more to add except to say it was a highlight of our 12 days in Ireland this summer. This tour is a MUST DO!

I did the cycle tour around the lovely country roads around union hall and myross woods. We had lots of little stops where Conor entertained us with great ancient Irish stories of the area. I am from West Cork and would be familiar with the area and yet I learnt lots of new stories, discovered an old ruined church from the 1700's and also an ancient bridge in Myross woods which is bursting with mystery's and stories of the past. A very special and relaxing tour. I would highly recommend to our own locals and the tourists! Thank you Conor and Celine, great Guides.

The tour today with Conor was so enjoyable! He is a terrific storyteller, and knows so much of the history of the area and brings all these different experiences to life with the stories he tells. I loved walking through all the various areas and having a delicious lunch at the beach at Castlehaven. Highly recommend to anyone who is considering a very intriguing and outdoor activity here in West Cork.

We had a super tour with Conor this week. Two adults, two kids (15 and 12) and our dog. Weather was great - a light shower of rain at the very start but that didn’t deter us. Then the sun came out. Really interesting to hear the history of the area, the origins of the place names and there were lots of interesting stories to keep the kids engaged. Walk is suitable for all ages and abilities. Ended with a fabulous swim and picnic at the beach with local / homemade food and hot drinks. Highly recommend this tour if you are in the area for a few days. You won’t regret it.

100% an amazing experience. Beautiful scenery and wonderfully interesting stories. Highly recommend. I was only visiting Cork and the surrounding areas over a 4 day weekend from Germany and highly recommend spending time in the West Cork areas!! Connor is committed to giving a unquie and personalized experience. I was the only person to sign up on my particular day. There are tours out there that would have canceled -not enough revenue etc. But not Connor with Gormu; even though it was just me this time they didn't cancel. The whole experience was very memorable and totally worth it. It truly was a unquie and very local experience that just can't get anywhere else. I learned so much about Irish culture and history presented in an entertaining and interesting way. The food provided is authentic Irish made products and is absolutely delicious however it is more at the end of the experience around 3-4pmish. I would recommend for travelers eat lunch before the trip since you will have plenty of time to work up an appetite on the walk and bring a water bottle. He and his wife with Gormu have other experiences you can sign up for- so definitely be on the look out for those as well!

Conor has a gift for story telling that brings the history of the area alive. As you walk from one stunningly beautiful bay to another he explains the history of the unique name the early residents gave each inlet and other geological features. The tour culminates in a casual lunch of local cheese, bread and other products of the area along a seawall while he recounts a defining battle in Irish history which took place in the early 1600s in that very place. Conor's family history goes back multiple generations in the area. He has an extensive knowledge of the immediate area as well as every facet of Irish events we thought to ask. Coupled with a keen sense of humor, he creates an interesting, enjoyable and very full afternoon experience.

We had a wonderful day out. This is a very informative relaxed tour with stunning scenery and Conor is a great storyteller. Well after the tour had ended my family and I were still discussing the place names and their meaning. Not forgetting the scrumptious picnic, the scones were only to die for.

Thanks to Conor and his stories I had a very fine day out at beautiful natural spots and at small places with great history. Conor`s passionate interest in the matter makes it no tiring lectures, but well told stories, much more than about the places, I came home with my head full of Irisch history and culture - and beautiful views of the sea and spots I wouldn`t have found on my own. Great lunch, too, with best scones ever!

We are fans of guided tours and have done them all over the world and this is easily the most novel tour we ever went on. Conor uses place names as the jumping off point for amazing stories on how people lived, loved and fought in this remarkable townland. It’s a really novel concept and it opens up a whole chapter of Irish culture that we had honestly never really considered up to this point. Conor is just brilliant telling stories that are “mostly true” as he describes them. It is a 100% authentic as an experience and we intend to do it again next summer with friends - it’s that good. The picnic lunch was outstanding too. This will undoubtedly become a ‘must do’ tour on the Wild Atlantic Way - Book on before the word gets out too widely!

We had a great time wirh Conor…he’s charming, passionate and informative, but as lovely as he is, it’s the “off the beaten path” places that most never see, or learn about, that makes this a special tour! The sincere and genuine interest in his hometown and surrounding areas, makes this tour a joy! Don’t miss it!

The tour was amazing, have been living in the area for a while, but hearing the stories of what happened at some of my most favourite places, made the history come alive ♥️. Definitely recommend booking a tour, especially if your family history comes from the area 😉. You’ll hear stories about what happened locally, as well as around Ireland throughout the past. A lovely walk, a bit of history, and a delicious homemade lunch.
