We went for a superb food walking tour around Piran today and all 6 of us thoroughly enjoyed the entire time. Jan is so charismatic and enthusiastic about what he does and rather than just talking at us he was conversational, it was more like having food with a friend than a tour guide which enhanced the experience. Jan clearly knows his way around the food in Piran as every dish was fantastic and we all left feeling completely full! We tried a variety of dishes including tuna tartare, sea bass carpaccio, octopus, baked sea bass, truffle pasta, and cuttlefish risotto. We also sampled some truffle products, olive oils and wines at GourmIstra shop, and local salt products at Piranske Soline, so we left with some products to fit in our suitcases! But I think it’s really important to highlight that at no point did we feel pressured to make any purchases which is how it can feel with other food tours. Jan spoke passionately about the products however whether or not to buy any was left completely up to us which actually meant we felt more comfortable to browse. I would recommend this tour to anybody thinking of booking one and when we come back we will book again!

Our guide, Jan, took us on a journey through Piran stopping at all the important sites. He gave us an overview of the history of the area and explained about the main foods and wines. Our stop at Gourmista was very interesting and we had a chance to try a white wine, red wine, snacks with various spreads, prosciutto, and several types of olive oil. Everything is locally grown/made. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour!

Great host. Layback tour. Small group made it more personal. Great way to see Piran for the first time. Good samples of wine, olive oil and salami at the end.

Piran walking tour, ran by Yan , was a wonderful way to get to know Piran and its history. Being set during sunset and the food anx wind tasting at the end of the tour were certainly an added value. Yan was very knowledgable and professionaln with a good sense of humor. Highly recommend the tour!

This was an experience well worth the price! Our guide was knowledgeable and related well to the local culture of Piran and the historical traditions of the region. We learned so much and any questions were readily answered with a unique native perspective. The wine and olive oil tasting was a perfect ending to a most enjoyable experience! Highly recommended!

Piran is a beautiful little city that is worth a visit. Our tour guide, Jan, did a great job of explaining the history behind the city, showing the group points of interest, and most importantly showed us some great wine, olive oil, and truffles!

Jan is a great guide, with a lot of stories, passion for this region, and a great personality. The tastings were also really nice with option to purchase but no pressure at all.:)

Very charming and kompetent guide Andi, also on subjects that were not necessarily connected to a walking tour (country, people, love and some more). The tasting was very good too - olive oils, truffles and salami, then white and red wine. It was an informative and still a very relaxing evening!

Very good, enthusiastic and friendly touring guide. We got served two different wines, which where good but maybe three or four different would have been nice.

Nice Tour to get some historical insights & recommendations. Jan is very knowledgable when it comes to Piran's rich history and provides a cool tasting experience with local olive oil, wine and cold meats at the end of the tour.

Amazing tour! We wanted to “sea” & get some info about Piran and it’s HiStory! We got a really nice tour guide whos knowledge was amazing! We also created unforgettable moments with my wife-i!
