Went on a photography tour with Paola while in Cartagena. She was professional and helped me learn how to take awesome pictures with my camera. From beginning to end she was down to earth and super cool. I ended up taking additional photography tours with Paola which made my time in Cartagena memorable. I booked this tour for my boyfriend who is learning the art of photography and all the features of his camera. Paola was extremely knowledgeable about photo techniques, camera settings as well as Colombian history. Paola is magnificent! I originally booked her for a two hour photo tour and then ended up spending a good part of three days with her because she is so fantastic. She took me on two separate tours of Cartagena and is deeply informed not only about photography and the best light and angles for pictures but also about the history and everything else to be known about the city. She also took some really magnificent photos of me and my family that I will treasure forever. Paola is a delight to be with, speaks impeccable English and I could not recommend her more highly.

Paola was truly the best! Not only is she kind, patient, and devoted; she is also very determined to capture the best images with perfect background/locations. She is prompt and responds within short time to your messages with direct contact to her. As always when I travel to a new location, I enjoy taking a photo tour. I noticed Paola had fantastic reviews so it was a no brainer contacting her and setting up an appointment. Her knowledge of the area and rapport with the locals enabled me to take incredible pictures which really captured the feel of the street. Came in on a cruise and had 1 day. Booked a photography tour with Paola. Had a great time in the mangrove swamps with their unique landscapes and wildlife. Paola was friendly, knowledgeable and a great communicator. Result was many great memorable photographs.

Paola met me at my hotel where she asked me several photography based questions to determine my level of expertise. I mostly take photos while on vacation, and really wanted to do a photography tour since the one I experienced in Cuba was so great. This one did not disappoint either! Paola is very knowledgeable in her field and she encouraged me to go manual during this photo tour (I mostly shoot in Ap mode and sometimes in Sp mode). She pushes you to get outside of your comfort zone. It was challenging, but I got some good shots. One recommendation: walk with smaller pesos for tipping, as taking photos comes with a price of a tip or of buying something from the person. Overall, a must do tour while you're in Cartagena.

Paola is fantastic! Her passion for photography and the city shine through. She took the time to clearly explain some of the more technical aspects of photography as well as the 'softer skills' (e.g. interacting with the locals, portrait photography etc.) & we then headed into the city to put them to practice. I enjoyed the assignments to test the theory and get some wonderful images at the same time. This was made so much easier through Paola's local network where she helped me to interact with the city and its people to get a real taste of the historic Old Town and surrounding area. It is an absolutely wonderful way to remember the day, learn new skills and share my experiences with others. I highly recommend Paola and I will certainly do this again on my next visit to Cartagena! Thank you!

Was a great way to spend time exploring different sides of Cartagena with a local guide, but most of all to work on my photography skills, particularly in pushing me out of my comfort zone to work on specific skills/areas that we discussed prior to the workshop.

Paola was a great guide, and really helped me transform the way that I think about photography. The route she chose was great, and she knew many people along the way which made for some amazing photographs.

A Win for Paola, -she can work with what she loves to do. It shows, -she is passionate about photography and shared many great tips about photographing people and architecture, “forcing us” to use our cameras in manual mode made us truly think more about lightning and composition resulting in some great photos to keep. A Win for my daughter and me, that in addition to a great photography lesson and session got a great guided tour of Cartagena. If you have interest in Photography this is a great option to a guided tourist tour. Paola definitely knows her city’s history and shared historical facts as well with other things to do. –GREAT! My wife and I joined Paola on a set of photography walks. As a visiting professional photographer, I was looking for someone to introduce us to places we would not know very much about or be able to get to. We would not have attempted an early morning walk around the vast and sprawling Bazurto Market without someone as knowledgeable as Paola. She was a guide and personable companion who made this dizzying maze into a world of opportunity. We created a wonderful group of images along with an understanding how the market works - plus were given a special welcome gift made in front of out eyes by the market's sign maker. In the afternoon, we had a combination photo walk and set of mini-shooting assignments in the Gestemini Barrio. Our time was an exercise in seeing and experiencing how a photojournalist develops a visual story showing how a place and what goes on in it to make it special. We thought about the spaces in ways that allowed us to have an intimate, visual adventure - coming away with a number of images we are very pleased with - as making a new friend. We recommend Paola to anyone looking for a personally crafted photographic experience of a unique city.

Paula is both a knowledgeable guide and a good teacher. Highly recommended. She offers a variety of tours, each with a different itinerary and emphasis. I took three and they were great values. There's nothing better than learning about a place like Cartagena and learning some new photography skills at the same time. In addition to Cartagena, she offers a fascinating trip to San Basilio de Palenque, a village in the hills that was established by escaped slaves, and is still inhabited by their descendants.
