Participating in the Jewish Quarter tour was an illuminating, insightful, and very touching experience. Our guide was exceptionally skilled, adeptly delivering information and addressing all questions, thus adding multiple layers of depth to such a historically rich area. The fact that our guide is from Budapest, possesses a personal history in the area, and has a wealth of experience contributed significantly to making the tour an enriching and memorable journey. It truly made a difference to our understanding of Budapest. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

Amazing. Valerie was engaging and so knowledgable, and balanced the past and present beautifully. Lots of opportunities to ask questions too.

An excellent tour of Jewish District. Our guide showed us the three synagogues and talked about the history of Jewish people and culture in Budapest. This is NOT a state-sponsored white-washed experience.

We had Gary leading us around the Jewish District in Budapest. We walked past the Synagogues and into area of the ruin bars. We passed some wall art. He was very informative and we really enjoyed the tour. He did walk very fast and at times it was hard to keep up.

Gary was a very good guide and gave us a lot of interesting information about what happened in and around the city. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about the history and his captivating way of storytelling is pleasant to listen to and keeps you interested. Besides this, he also gave us multiple tips and recommendations about hidden gems to visit in the city. Would highly recommend to join this tour when you're in Budapest!

The walking tour of the Jewish District led by our guide Edith, was the highlight of our recent trip to Budapest. Edith, who had a very personal connection to the Quarter, gave us a real sense of the history of the district and of Jewish life throughout the history of Budapest and Hungary. It was a moving experience

This is a very good tour if you want to learn more about Jewish community in Budapest. As the title itself said - the past and the present and that is true. The guide was very nice, communicative and willing to answer to all questions we had. Beside some basic information it also gives you information about some specific places or small things that can provoke you to plan your next walking tour or to learn more about something (for example to visit Synagogue, to learn more about the Stumbling stones, or to go for a walk in order to find all of the hidden mini statues by Mihaly Kolodko etc). So, this is for sure very nice daily tour with easy walking around Jewish quarter. Give it a chance if you like walking tours.

Geri, our tour guide gave us an unforgettable tour. The info he shared was interesting and detailed, we got all our questions answered and the places we visited were beautiful. I'd say I would suggest this tour to my friends, but I already did. Loved it and would love to go on more tours when I visit Budapest again. Also our tour guide was quite funny. Geri, never change ;)

Good and affordable peep into Budapest's Jewish Quarter. Our guide was lovely and attentive and we all enjoyed it. The ruin bars were fun to look through and also to contemplate about the history of Hungarian Jewry

Free Walking Tour ( Guide - Dora ) was a joyful experience.Completely free if you booked via TriptoHungary(official). Her enthusiasm and knowledge with regard to the Jewish History and people was commendable. We enjoyed, how she withstood the very cold day and extremely busy streets with fun and interactive manner that made it all the more immersive. This tour is recommended to learn more about Budapest especially it's Jewish Connections and Culture.

Garry the guide raced and left some of the group behind at each juncture. He kept touting for money as he said it was a free tour and selling his own products. He had no empathy or human anecdotes to bring this important tour topic to life. He just spouted facts and did not portray the story behind the history. It was just a fast walking race to get the tour done and no matter nobody could keep up walking with him. It was a waste of time and when he publicly passed a hat around for money - it summarised what his primary motive was.

Hearing the history of the Jewish population in Hungary was very moving. As elsewhere, the lives of the Jewish community were fraught with danger.

Need to find guides that are more informed and more fluent in English...both of the guides were very hard to understand!
