We had a fantastic experience on our street food tour! Our guide, Marco, was fun and informative, and the tour was a hit with both my husband and I and all four of our kids (ages 11 - 17). The tour was a perfect way to spend our limited time in Palmero as it mixed both food and history. Highly recommended!
I am a bit of a foodie and looked forward to this morning tour. We booked this tour through Viator. Our guide was Savatori - he was fabulous! Your lucky if you have him as a guide. Funny, friendly, and spoke great English. He is a local and knows many of the market vendors.
This is not really "street food" but a tour of two markets where prearranged stops at market stalls where samples (large - don't eat a large Breakfast) given to the group - sometimes sitting at tables. We were even given a tour of a kitchen were Arinchini's were being prepared.
A great introduction to Sicilian Cuisine and fun to look for some of the items we tasted on menus though out our trip. Great fun!
Our guide was Liviania, very knowledgeable and animated. She led us deftly through the market and streets of Palermo, giving us the opportunity to taste various dishes and relating the interesting cultural and social history behind them. Even for a non-foodie (like me) it was very enjoyable. And my partner, who is a foodie, was in seventh heaven.
My wife and I had a wonderful time. we really enjoyed the host. He was very knowledge and a great sence of humor. But the best part was the food. I would highly recommend this tour to anybody who wants to enjoy the great food. .
Angelo, our guide was knowledgeable about many things eg . History, food and Palermo in general. He was confident and very welcoming.
What an amazing time. Our guide Salvatore, was super nice, informative and fun.
We tasted local foods and drinks and visited great spots where the locals go and shop.
Don't miss this tour.
We loved our street food walking tour with Angelo. He is very personable and made everyone feel welcome to enjoy his city, its food, its culture and history. His interactions with the various merchants and locals added to our enjoyment. There is plenty of food available, so bring your appetite. Don’t hesitate to try any of the foods. This tour makes a great first-day introduction to Palermo.
Excellent introduction into Sicilian food and great experience going through the busy food markets.
The passport idea was great both for a memento and to identify the different foods we ate.
lively and colorful glance to the live in Sicily
love the Market , old town' the test of the street food
Allesandra was an outstanding guide. She was exuberant, knowledgeable, and a delight in all ways. I would highly recommend this fun experience
What a fun, entertaining, experience! I would highly recommend (ask for Angelo to be your guide). We enjoyed meeting the people in our group, getting to indulge in Sicilian street food, learning some history and thoroughly being entertained- it was just the right amount of everything! Thank you Angelo!!
This was the highlight of our vacation. Our guide, don't remember name, was great. I can't express enough how enjoyable the day was.
We had a blast on this tour with my four cousins. Salvo was our tour guide
that afternoon. He was knowledgeable and very patient with us as he took us to some of the best places in Palermo. Definitely worth booking and a great way to get aquainted with Palermo.
Thank you Salvo!
Host made the tour enjoyable with lots of interesting stories about history of Palermo and it’s food.
Amazing food tour, with so much information crammed in a well explained manner of the history of Palermo but also the food)
My husband and I loved the tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and funny!!! I would recommend the tour and her to people I know going.
WOW WOW WOW... this tour is a MUST.. We really can not stress how amazing it was. Salvo you deserve a pay rise!!
Firstly, Salvo thank you sir you was INCREDIBLE. We loved it, it was such a fun experience, so relaxing and so interesting.
You do not need to just love food to enjoy the tour, it was great any questions we had Salvo answered them. Any recommendations asked for Salvo helped us out.
We are vegetarian and don't drink, we thought like normal food tours there would be items we would not be able to eat. Salvo made sure that there was a substitute even if just for us. We felt so special.
We can not write words for how great and fun the tour was, it was supposed to last a few hours, without any complaints or ask for money the tour was extended and we all left with not only a full belly Arancini Ke Belly? but a new love for Sicily thanks to Salvo!
GRAZIE SALVO AND STREATY
The street food tour gave us so much insight into the history of Palermo, it’s people and their food traditions. It was an excellent way to learn our way around old Palermo and Alessandra, our guide, was so delightfully fun and energetic! We highly recommend doing this tour as soon as you land in Palermo.
I would highly recommend this absolutely fantastic tour. The guide was excellent and involved my son aged 7 in everything we did.
Very enjoyable, our guide Angelo was funny and very personable. Also gave a history of Palermo as we took the walk.
We did this street food tour the first day in Palermo and it helped us as we ate elsewhere. Not only with knowing what to eat, how to eat it, and where to eat it on the streets. But, also with restaurants for after the tour. I had the best seafood pasta thanks to their list or recommendations. This tour gives a great insight into the food culture and traditions of the Sicilian people. Our tour guide exuded passion for his great city!
Angelo was awesome! His tour was so much more than just a food tour. Amazing tour! Amazing food, history, local color! Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Palermo! Thank you Angelo! (and thank you Brexit)
My husband and I had a wonderful time on this tour. It was our first day in Palermo, having arrived the night before, and it was the perfect way to get acquainted with the city. We got much more than a few tastings. We learned so much from our guide about the markets, and the lifestyle of Palermitanos. We recommend this tour very much!
Our tour guide was excellent , we had a wonderful time and ate some interesting food. The tour laste about 3 hours and we walked through several local market areas to sample the food.
25 years ago I worked in a restaurant in Palermo, and this summer I returned for the first time together with my husband and two children (11 and 14). I wanted to give them a quick guide to central Palermo and a glimpse of sicilian fast food. And I got so much more: we spent 3,5 hours (that seemed like 1 hour) accompanied by a very enthustiastic guide and my family was introduced in the most perfect way, not only to Palermo, but expecially to the very tasteful sicilian fast food. Who would ever have thought that an 11 year old would like snails and enjoy pani ca meusa! And that a 14 year old wasn't bored for a single second! And she is usually VERY critical... So when we finished the tour by eating the largest brioche with icecream and she stated
Our group of 4 had a fantastic time! The food and drinks were delicious and plenty to qualify as lunch. Our guide Salvatore (Salvo) was excellent! He was very knowledgeable about the city and very entertaining and kept the whole group engaged. I would highly recommend this experience.
This is an excellent tour, well worth it. Our guide Angelo was so enthusiastic and showed us lots of extras around the old city. Do it early in your stay so that you can go back to the markets and eat more of the amazing food!
Salvo was our guide, and gave an excellent walking tour of the best sites for street food in Palermo. Lots of local color and flavor. A very entertaining Sicilian experience!
Marco was a fantastic guide - very knowledgeable, funny and very handsome. I highly recommend his tour. We saw many highlights of Palermo.
Best street food walking tour ever. Marcus was funny, knowledgeable and friendly. Weve recommended this tour to all of our friends travelling to Sicily.
