Karina & German were wonderful hosts! Arriving early was 100% worth it as we had the mountain to ourselves for a while. We got a delicious breakfast and lunch, were able to walk alpacas, and Kary took some lovely pictures of us. She was very patient with us as we were struggling with the altitude a bit. Definitely recommend this tour.

The tour was great and a little bit exhausting due to the altitude. Carlos and the driver were really nice.

This tour to Palccoyo rainbow mountains was a great tour. My wife woke up not feeling well, so I ended up doing this tour solo with my guide Gris (and driver Erwin). The tour started at 3:30am with the seats in the vehicle reclined and pillows/blankets provided for napping during the 3-4 hour drive out of Cusco. We stopped about halfway to the mountains for a continental breakfast. The drive up the mountain from the main road is quite curvy, as expected, but had beautiful views of landscapes and llamas. When we arrived at out destination we were the only people on the mountain, an advantage of starting so early from Cusco. Gris and I walked the trail to the 3 view points and up through the rock garden for 2 hours. There are many rainbow mountains visible throughout the trail, but all of the rest of the mountain scenery is is equally, if not more, impressive than the rainbows. We were allowed to walk a portion of the trail with a llama named Hilario, giving a unique experience to the tour. When we reached the top of the mountain, Gris shared a toast of coca tea with me as we took in the nature. I would definitely recommend this tour to the Vinicunca rainbow mountain as it is a far easier 'hike', it's a similar distance from Cusco, and there is basically no crowd. There are toilets on site, 2 soles to use. After visiting the rainbow mountains, we went back to the same restaurant where breakfast was served and had lunch. Then we drove back to Cusco, arriving to my hotel around 3:00pm.

I really enjoyed my tour to palccoyo. It was an amazing experience and Carlos was the best guide! We got really lucky with the weather and were able to see a Kondor, lots of alpaca, vicuna and a dear high up in the mountains. The altitude was tough but Carlos was very patient und had good advice how to deal with it. To top our experience up we had really good breakfast and lunch in a local restaurant. All in all one of the best tours I ever had!

I did a private tour of Palccoyo rainbow mountain with Gris and it was one of my favorite experiences of my trip. Exploor makes booking activities so easy and they provide such a geeat experience in their tours. Gris is amazing, knowledgeable and personable and I really enjoyed spending time talking with her. She made a solo excursion so fun with auch pleasant company. I can’t say enough about how great Gris and Exploor are!

My group’s hike with Exploror could not have been better! Our tour guide, Vidal, was so knowledgeable of all the local practices and traditions and treated us like family. Very personal experience! Highly recommend!

Fantastic tour experience! If you want a non-crowded tour of Rainbow Mountain and also learn about area’s culture, go with this tour. We got there early before the trail was crowded and we had the trail to ourselves. The views were gorgeous! Our tour guide, Vidal, taught us about the customs of the people who live there and we learned so much about Andean culture. Breakfast and lunch were also included and the food was delicious!

Really cannot reccomend this tour enough! The early wake up was well worth it, we were the first people there and with a tour group of only 4 it was like we had the whole place to ourselves. Absolutely incredible views - 3 rainbow mountains, the red valley, stone forest and so many alpacas. The hike wasn't bad at all, we took a ton of breaks to catch our breath with the altitude and never felt rushed. Vidal was an incredible guide and made everyone feel welcome and gave great information! The best tour we did in Peru!

Love Peru! ❤️ It really helped that we had a great crew/guides during our trip and speaks english well. Thanks to exploor! We chose Palccoyo because we aren't sure about the altitute (how it will affect us), and I'm worried about my friend whether she'd be able to hike. Our guide, Darwin, is accommodating and took loads of our photos. 😊 My friend also felt safe during this trip! 🙂 I believe the max capacity for a group is 8, and at that time there were only 2 us. For us, It a big plus, because you don't really want to travel with a big group for hours.

Overall it was a great experience. We got picked up on time and drove to our first stop where we had breakfast. About 2 hours after we started driving again we reached our destination. On our way up we already got to see a beautiful landscape and even lots of alpacas. The hike itself was moderate. The hight was a bit difficult and we needed to walk slowly and take a lot of breaks but after an hour we reached the top where we wanted to go. It was a beautiful view and everything was worth it. On our way up we even got to walk with lamas and alpacas and take pictures with them. The guides were super nice and always made sure they you are feeling well. We usually don't like hiking that much but it was worth it and we would always do it again. Therefor I can only recommend it. Tipp: bring warm clothes for the bus since it is almost freezing outside during the night. It feels even colder when you are also tired ( we went in mid- August)

Solange our guide was terrific and helpful, and she explained all about the mountains and their colors. Aldo was a fabulous driver who drove us safely around the many hairpin turns. You leave earlier than other groups, but this gives you these beautiful mountains to yourself. We only saw two other small groups until we’re headed back. Bring some small change for photos with a llama, drinks or snacks to help the locals, and for the toilet. I have been told by several people that these Rainbow mountains are better than the busier one. A little farther away, but less arduous hiking. Enjoy!

Our tour group leader Vidal was very energetic even at 3am in the morning informing us about what we will be doing on the day and answering our questions which made us all excited for the day ahead. We had lovely lunch and breakfast at a lovely venue with great clean facilities before and after our hike up rainbow mountain We arrived very early before alot of other tour group which ensured that we had a lovely experience without the crowds! Vidal helped us to get horses up there (as we did machu pichu the day before) and met us taking it at our pace to get to the top (we were 5000 metres above sea level at the top so it wasn't easy to say the least) Vidal made sure we got the best pictures and videos! Overall, it was day activity and the tour guides at exploor are so helpful!!

We had an excellent tour to Rainbow Mountain with Junior. Getting up early was worth it, we stayed for approx. 2 hours all alone on Rainbow Mountain. The trip was pleasant and the food delicious. We can only recommend the tour!

We did the tour with Vidal as our guide and it was an amazing experience. They picked us up in our hotel early and we went to the breakfast place first. Breakfast was very good and energising. After breakfast we drove a bit more to the base of the mountain and since we were the first ones to arrive we had the whole place for ourselves. We saw many llamas and alpacas on the way to the mountain and when we got there we got to walk a llama which was a big highlight of the tour. The views during the walk are outstanding. You can see several rainbows mountains, the red valley and the stone forest. The walk itself can be challenging as it’s at very high altitude so it becomes difficult to breath when going on the steepest sections. However we took it slowly and made it to the top. It’s all worth it for the incredible views of the mountains. Vidal was very friendly and knowledgeable. He answered all our questions and gave us tons of recommendations of things to do in Cusco next time we are here. He definitely contributed to such a good experience. Hirwin (our driver) was also very friendly. Once we finished the walk and went back to the car we were driven to the same place were we had breakfast to have lunch. The lunch included entry, main and dessert and the drinks were paid separately. The food was very good and tasty. Overall I would recommend. It’s a great way less popular experience than Vinicuna with an amazing guide.

Freddy was a spectacular driver and took great care of his passengers. We got to know him more at lunch and he was a joy! Junior has a natural touch when it comes to personalization and care. He had all the supplies such as water, blankets, oxygen. He was always checking on the pulse of the group and is truly such a caring individual. I consider both of them very professional and wonderful at what they do. His knowledge of the history and locations was amazing. He shared above and beyond. I will be recommending them for future trips and stuff they both deserve a raise and great recognition. Thank you for being part of our experience!
