Armando was phenomenal. He knew so much history about San Francisco… and our home cities. The absolute best time of our whole week. I wouldn’t have missed this for anything. Worth every penny.

I have taken visiting family from the east coast and south on the Painted Ladies San Francisco tour at least 5 times, in the past 2 years. Tour guides are well versed on the city’s history, you visit historical points and stop for photos, all in two hours. My family has enjoy the tours and each time, I saw a different part of the city. On this last tour in Nov 2023, Laura was our tour guide, she was very knowledgeable, courteous and a safe driver. I highly recommend this tour, if you are visiting San Francisco

We had an amazing time on our Nov 11 Veterans Day trip. Our tour guide Armando was incredible and I highly recommend him and doing the private tour. We were able to visit a lot of different part of San Francisco in our private tour. Armando has a great personality and was very knowledgeable and explained everything with a lot of historical detail. He also took the time to get to know and engage with all of us that went on the trip.

We did this on the first morning that we were in San Francisco and I couldn’t recommend it high enough. Armando was so good. 3 Adults and 4 kids and not once did we stop chatting and laughing and learning about the city. It was so good and also learnt best ways to get around and what else to see. No way would we have seen anything like we did in a big bus tour. Highly recommend this company

We were a group of 8 with just a couple of days in San Francisco and really wanted to get an overview of the highlights of the city while not having to endure a large group standard tour or a hop on hop off. A private tour with Painted Ladies ended up being the perfect solution. Our tour guide Glen was exceptional! He really took the time to get to know what we wanted to do and make sure he planned the itinerary accordingly. We had four kids ages 8-15 and he made sure that they were well entertained and educates as well. Flan really knew his stuff. He was energetic and thoughtful. Couldn’t say enough about him. Next, don’t underestimate how fun it is to drive around San Fran in these retro CW Vans. Right off the start Glen said we would be “celebrities” and he was right. Everyone was waiving, and taking pictures. When we stopped to walk around (which was a number of times and always seemed just at the right time) people would take picture and check out the van. The method of transportation very much added to the San Francisco experience. The private tour gave us some great flexibility. We were able to do things like drive across the Golden Gate Bridge and down Lombard street that larger groups or planned itineraries might not. We checked out a number of movie sets and famous musicians houses and were able to stop and get our at some of the most scenic stops on the tour. A higher for the kids was a stop at the fortune cookie factory. Yes, the private tour is a little more expensive than group tours or the hop on hop off, but I am very confident in saying that the additional cost was more than rewarded in value and quality of the experience. I would highly recommend Painted Ladies doe any your in the San Francisco area.

My friends are from Germany and thoroughly loved the tour. Our tour guide was so personable and multi-lingual. His knowledge was thorough and we all had a lovely time.

Such a fun tour with fantastic tour guide Jim. Traveling with friends to celebrate our 35th anniversaries. The VW bus brought back our college memories and laughs

Amazing. Josh was incredibly knowledgeable and extremely personable. We saw so many great sites and learned so much about San Fran. I have been on many trips and this was one of the best! I would recommend this to anyone who wants to learn from a local resident.

We had a ride with Armando and it was fantastic. The amount of history he provides is impressive, yet not overwhelming. He was a great and thoughtful photographer and catered to more sights we wanted to see and when. I am a local (peninsula, not the city) and thought i didnt need this tour - I was wrong! What a vibe! We Highly recommend taking this tour. Our tour guide and the tour itself was fantastic! Our kids enjoyed it as much as we did, which says enough. Do not hesitate if you’re wanting private tour of San Francisco then don’t look past this one.

We had a private tour with Armando. I can say enough about him and his knowledge. We had been to San Francisco several times and he was able to so us a San Francisco like never before. My 82 year old mother, who had never been to California, can’t stop talking about how awesome Armando was at his job.

Our family booked a private 2 hour tour of San Francisco with Painted Ladies. Our tour guide Armando was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He was as interested in learning about us and where we were from, as he was to share his excellent knowledge and history of the city. The time flew by and I would love to book him for the whole day next time we are in the city.

our "lady" Daisy was a fun way to ride thru the city, and Camile our guide provided points of interest; tour included three quick stops to capture a pic of SF icons. I would recommend if you want a well rounded view of SF neighborhoods in about 2.5 hours.
