We were guests in the beautiful high rise penthouse of our host Fernando. The atmosphere was amazing. The views from his rooftop allowed a complete view of the city. His historical presentation was intriguing. We were part of a group of 10 strangers. Before the end of the evening we were all friends (thank you Walter). We learned how to make a wonderful tasting paella and enjoyed the best sangria I have ever tasted. A bonus was recipes for the paella and sangria. I cannot wait to try these when we return home. I cannot recommend this enough!! Don’t miss out on an evening of joy and happiness.

Many of the reviews about this paella cooking class highlight the beautiful views from the apartment and Fernando's skills as an accomplished chef. Indeed, he has developed a quick and informative way to teach the art of making paella, which we appreciated. However, we found Fernando's energy and enthusiasm a bit overwhelming for our tastes. We were anticipating a more relaxed, laid-back experience and instead felt as though we were participants in a game show, which might be more suitable for a larger, livelier group. While we understand this style could be very engaging for some, it was not exactly what we were hoping for in our cooking class.

Fernando has this down to a science. He provided perfect directions to the meeting point, handled the group members with friendliness and professionalism, and had us engaged right away in the making of the paella. Everything was prepped ahead of time, so we dived right into cooking. We had some wine to start, and sangria with the food. In whole, the experience lasted about 2 hours, all on a rooftop deck with unbelievable views of the cathedral and center city. A highlight of our time in Seville!

So unusual to be in Fernando's home, and a lovely experience at the top of his building and on his patio facing the cathedral. Wow !! Excellent. His description of the origin of the dish and its humble ingredients was interesting, and he simplified the usual recipe and guidance to a straightforward process to repeat the original Valencia dish. Bomba rice is the secret, but apparently Arborio is a cheaper substitute for non--Spanish, either way, a lovely communal dish to be shared. The 7 of us "shifted" nearly enough for 12, with nice wine, Sangria and company, as well as the setting sun onto the Cathedral's walls. Ohhhhhh....A very personal and special experience, a wonderful evening. Thank you.

Arguably, there’s nowhere you can eat and/or have an experience in Seville with better views. Worth every penny. Fernando has great energy and patiently taught us to make traditional paella (I’ve been making it wrong for years!). Great location, great experience, highly recommend for family/friends.

Fernando did an excellent job of putting together a wonderful experience. We had three couples and the view of Seville from the rooftop is amazing. It felt like a group of friends gathering for a dinner party. Fernando was good about getting everyone involved and explaining all about the city. The paella and the sangria were amazing and he sent us the recipes so that we can recreate our experience with friends and family back home. Highly recommend!

Fernando was so hospitable - every detail from arrival, to the olives cheese and sangria, to the hands on-paella making, and one of a kind views was perfection. The best view you will get in Seville and the highlight of my trip!

With so much to do and see in Seville, we opted for this cooking experience because it was only 1.5 hours. The shopping and prep work was done before we arrived. If you are looking for the entire experience, this is not for you, but if you are looking to make authentic paella, and still have time to enjoy the evening elsewhere, I highly recommend booking with Fernando. Fernando was the ultimate host - on time at the meeting point, great communicator, and pleasant throughout the evening. His rooftop studio was inviting and immaculate. The directions were clear and the history was interesting; we all took turns and had multiple opportunities to participate while cooking two batches at once. The rooftop views were spectacular! Appetizers (olives, cheese and crackers) were good and refilled, and the sangria was terrific! While the paella was cooking, Fernando pointed out all of the buildings and landmarks from the rooftop, giving us a birds eye tour of the city. The next day, the recipes for the paella and sangria were emailed to us, along with a group picture from the night. We were a party of 3 joined by 4 others. Had a very lovely evening with the group, and the paella was delicious! Thank you, Fernando!

Everything about the food, the views, and Fernando made this experience a highlight of our Seville trip. Fernando was so professional about communicating the meeting point, instructions during the cooking class, and even the history of the city during the experience. While we went to learn about the local cuisine, we were so impressed with the views from the rooftop where the class is held. Fernando is amazing chef and he showed us how to cook real paella. We had a great time cooking, chatting and drinking Sangria. The view from roof top were simply to die for!!! My kind of night and cant wait to make paella at home!! Thabks for wonderful exepriance and being an incredible host!!

This experience is a MUST if you come to Sevilla. Fernando was an amazing teacher - we learned the history of the town + the history behind Paella as we prepared our meal. The Paella and Sangria were absolutely delicious. We can’t wait to make this at home for friends and family!
