Wonderful trip to the heart of Berber territory. Ghassan was an amazing guide - patient and knowledgeable with a genuine desire to share his love of the amazing history and culture of Tunisia. Sharing bread and harissa by the kiln was a special memory.

Excellent private tour guide/driver. We saw some very interesting Amazigh villages in the Tunisian countryside. The locals kept inviting our group in for a meal at their houses. Everyone was so nice and definitely would recommend this to anyone visiting Tunisia 🇹🇳 for the first time.

The organizer was very responsive and accommodating. The guide was knowledgable and passionate. The places were nicely chosen. The couscous in Zriba was very tasty. They picked us up and left us exactly where we requested which was very convenient. The experience was excellent! Thank you

The tour was rather expensive to me but I think it worth the money. It was a private tour and I travelled in a comfortable and clean private car, with 1 driver and 1 tour guide serving me and my partner. The tour started at 9am and ended at 7pm, the pick up location was our hotel and the drop off location at Hotel Africa was selected by ourselves. During the journey, the guide tried her best to introduce the attractions we were going and the history of Tunisia. We went to 2 berber villages and a small town Hammamet near the seashore. We were able to take good photos at the first Berber village which we did not see any villagers as it was on top of a hill, we only interacted with some wild cats which were adorable and friendly. At the 2nd Berber village, we were able to interact with the only remaining villager. The old lady demonstrated traditional bread making to us, and treated us to freshly made breads with delicious dipping and mint tea. It was really a memorable experience to interact with the local minorities which I seldom have such chance. Hammamet was a beautiful seaside small town and the restaurant recommended by our tour guide was good too. We enjoyed delicious squid, octopus and ravioli along with a nice sea view. The travel agent was run by a family, the son acted as the owner, daughter as the tour guide and the father as driver. The service was attentive and the experience was unique. Highly recommended.

Fantastic day trip ! The Berber villages were spectacular and the guides were fabulous. There were also a couple of very nice and authentic surprises along the way. All the while feeling very safe with our guides and there was zero attempt to upsell which we have often found on some trips like this.

We were picked up promptly at 8:30 at our hotel in Hammamet by our wonderful guide who took us on an all day private visit of several Berber villages, the Water Palace and the Hammamet Medina. Our guide was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about Tunisia’s rich history and answered all of my questions (and there were a lot!) I felt very safe the whole time travelling with our guide and will never forget this great experience. I particularly appreciated that this tour company is family-run and independent and I would highly recommend!

We are a couple of friends from Italy and we booked a guide for a tour in the Berber villages and Hammamet city. The taxi driver picked us up directly from our hotel, and brought us with his car (with Wi-Fi) through the trip. He was very friendly, available for any question and request, he explained us everything er need to know, from the history to the present. We advice this tour because it’s very interesting and enjoyable.

My wife and I did this trip from Tunis - and it was superb! We went to the Roman ruins at Uthina, then to the Berber Village at Zriba Alia, then lunch and a walk around Tekrouna, and finally on to the Medina at Hammamet. I feel so bad that I cannot remember our guide/drivers name - but he was excellent. he had a real depth of knowledge and passion for the things he showed us. He had no hesitation in stopping for photos that my wife wanted to take, and gave us a week's worth of information in a day. Well worth it to get out of Tunis and see a very different side of Tunisia.

The abandoned villages were pretty cool to see with great views. Hammamet was a nice place for luch by the sea. The tour guide, Hassan, was professional but friendly. It was like taking a road trip with a friend who provided valuable historic information about the sites visited as well as points of interest along the way.

We had an amazing day with Ghassan during our tour of the Berber villages. He was friendly and put us at our ease, and he was knowledgeable about every site we visited and the history of Tunisia. The Berber villages themselves were very quiet as no tourist buses can make the journey, and so it often felt as though we had the entire place to ourselves. Ghassan told us about the history of the villages and the Berber people, but also about those still living there. In the second village we met two of the locals and were given delicious homecooked bread and salads, which we ate overlooking an absolutely stunning view. During the drive to different sites, he pointed out other interesting landmarks and aspects of the countryside. As we had been to Hammamet the previous day, he changed the tour to visit the Roman ruins at Pupput; and again he was very knowledgeable about the history and as there is no information available at the site itself we were very lucky to have him around. He also helped us barter for two wild chameleons that had been caught and were being sold by the roadside which we later released at Pupput. I would definitely recommend Ghassan and his tours for anyone wanting to see and learn about the real Tunisia.

Our local guide, Amira and her father (our driver) made our trip one to remember. After picking us up from the hotel, we went to Tekrouna. This village is located on a 200 meters hill and not only that has played an important role in the Second World War, but has the most amazing views. An old lady was waiting for us at the village's entrance with fresh baked bread (in a traditional stone oven) and with berber's fig (a sweet and juicy cactus fruit). The village was quiet as big blocks of stone collaps some time before, so the people had to leave the village, but it is worth visiting. In Zriba Alia, very nice views as well, with yellow stone houses. Amira and her dad were so kind to make us a nice surprise on our way back to the hotel: a visit to Zaghouan, to see the Temple of waters (which was not on the itinerary, but definitely worth seeing), as it is the place from where the Romans extracted the water and transported it about 130 km to Chartage. Nevertheless, as we were rather hungry, we ask Amira to make a short stop to eat. Her and her father recommended us traditional Tunisian dishes and at the restaurant we had a delicious tuna brik (a sort of salted thin pastry wrapped around egg filling, tuna and cheese and fried) and koucha (a lamb stew with potatoes and vegetables). We were served, while waiting for our food, free appetizers (it is a custom in Tunisian restaurants) and we've loved harissa (a hot chili pepper paste). Our trip is definitely one of our dearest memories in Tunisia thanks to Amira and her father who not only gave us a lot of useful information about the history and the importance of the places that we've visited or just passed by but they introduced us to Tunisian culture and lifestyle, and we loved it!

Ever wondered how the Berber lived in Tunisia? This is your Tour. Ghassen, our young and super helpful Driver and Guide picked us up in Tunis and took us on a marvelous drive thru the backlands. Our fun guide, Ghassen is a very good driver and has a vast knowledge of the surroundings and the history of the area. He took us to 2 diffrent Berber villages nested on top of hills. He was very special to experience the basic lifestyle of the berbers. An old charming lady baked us fresh bread, we could taste with the local olives and olive oil. A very impressive tour with great views. One of the villages was partly in ruins which gave the whole tour a great vibe of Indiana Jones style adventure experience. If you have a day spare - don't miss out on this. I've travelled many times to Tunisia and I have seen a lot of things here. But this back-to-the-roots day-trip was truly eye-opening and awesome.

I had a great time with Ghassen on this tour. I was able to book 48 hours beforehand, which for me is extremely last minute. Ghassen was an awesome tour guide. Very interesting and knowledgeable and willing to be flexible with the tour, given my interests. In addition to Zriba Alia and Tekrouna, we stopped in a small, more modern Berber village and had a nice Tunisian lunch in Hammamet, a seaside town. Highly recommend this tour not only for its friendly guide but also the beautiful scenery!

This was my second tour with Hallo Tunisia because I really loved the first tour I took (El Jem and Kairouan). You must take this tour! I was speechless when I saw Tekrouna. It is so interesting to see that people actually still live there. There’s a cute souvenir shop at the top. And afterwards, when we went to Zriba Alia, I was bewildered with the views. Zriba Alia is an abandoned village. The guide, Ghassen, didn’t mind taking one million pictures of me, and by the way, he is excellent at it! Ghassen was the best guide I had in Tunisia. If I knew him before, I would have booked all the tours with him. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional, funny and just a great guy overall. Because of him, my last two days in Tunisia was the best experience I had. Highly recommended!
