Wonderful experience! Momoko is a kind and cheerful local Osaka girl, passionate about Sake (actually called Nihonshu 日本酒 in Japanese!) and takoyaki. She patiently guided us through making our own authentic takoyaki (which was very oishi!). Following a thorough introduction to the world of sake, we were able to choose and taste from a wide variety of different sake types and decide which one we like the most. After this class, you will feel much more confident walking into a sake shop to look for the bottle you want

If you want a sake (nihonshu) sommelier to learn about the favorite Japanese drink this is by far the best use of your time in Osaka. I signed up for morning session and ended up alone but it allowed me to learn a lot & ask plenty of questions. The takoyaki was super cool/fun to make and the host is extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. 10/10 even if not a fan and are more interested in the Takoyakii

Momoko was friendly and personable and had excellent command of English. She led us through the different types of sake taught us how to make our own choices based on the different flavour profiles. The takoyaki making was fun and easy to do and added a nice twist to a typical tasting class. We would definitely recommend this class!

A truly incredible experience. Our guide Momoka was very knowledgeable about the sake making and producing process, and taught us so much about the different kinds and flavour profiles of sake. The okonomiyaki DIY aspect is an absolute blast to do! I would highly recommend this event to anyone who wants a fun evening experience in the heart of Dotonbori!

Momoko was amazing! She really knew her stuff and we tried some great sakes while applying what we learned. She even let us try our hand at making our own Takoyaki while sipping on our drinks. It was yummy and fun! Perfect activity in Osaka!

A bit hard to find, but worth the hunt. Learned soooo much about sake (rice wine) and the opportunity to taste so many different varieties and to learn about your palate was a bonus. The takoyaki were the best we have had. The Waygu and cheese was a nice option from just the traditional octopus (I might have made some veggie-only ones too. 😉). The glass wear was beautiful and you know you’re having a good time when you drink the host out of certain sakes! 🍶🤩

We had so much fun with Momoku! She was a wonderful, knowledgeable sake a ommelier and taught us how to make takoyaki! She was warm and personable- spoke amazing English (having studied in Sydney for a year and 3 months in Wisconsin). She knew so much about sake and was happy to answer our questions. Her takoyaki was also better than the street vendors and could accommodate our vegetarian friend. Would highly recommend!

This was one of the best things we did on our entire trip! So so fun. Highly recommend for everyone. Momoko is a fabulous hostess; chatty, friendly, fun and very very knowledgeable. Wonderful English skills. She has worked in a sake brewery and shared really in-depth and interesting information when it comes to tasting and appreciating different sakes. You get a lot of sake! The cooking lesson is really fun and so well organised. We tried various takoyaki on our travels and the ones we made were actually the tastiest. You will not be hungry as there is a lot of food and you also get to choose the types of sake you drink, which is really good if you have specific taste preferences. Honestly, just book this experience. You won’t regret it at all. Tip for finding the venue: use google maps to get you to the correct location, it seems like you might be lost but you’re not! Go down some steep stairs and turn right, you will find a bunch of doors. Look for the sign that says takoyaki class. The signage is not at the top of the stairs. You just have to be brave and walk down the stairs to find it. We went early in the morning just to be sure of the venue and the sign wasn’t in the door. But it was when went back at the correct time.

We loved delving into the story of sake which was very nicely illustrated, and applying it immediately with lots of tasting. Momoko was very welcoming and experienced, she answered all our questions and we had great chats. The combination with cooking our own takoyaki only made it more memorable and fun! Lovely experience perfect for foodies and/or for anyone who wants to learn something about sake. Great value for money. There is no previous knowledge or cooking skills required!

This was our first Tokoyaki DIY and sake tasting experience in Japan since we arrived. Momo was so friendly and amazing! I love the small group which included only my family of 5. Which made this experience very comfortable and enjoyable since it was a more personal experience. Momo’s sake brewery experience has given her so much knowledge about sake and we have learned so much during this class. We had so much fun making fresh Takoyaki and enjoyed tasting them even more. I highly recommend this class if you’re in Dotonbori area.

A night of sampling lots of delicious sake and learning how to make takoyaki in a very relaxing and fun environment - we made a ton with both octopus and then wagyu beef and cheese which was an excellent combination. Momoko was full of patience, kindness and gave us a wonderful insight into how sake is made. I came away feeling both educated and a little tipsy. As well as the takoyaki and bar snacks she also treated us to sake ice cream which was probably the nicest ice cream I’ve ever had. She took excellent care of us and I will definitely be recommending this to friends coming to Japan later this year. Momoko also gave us lots of great tips for sake shops and other things we were looking for, she really couldn’t do enough to help us. A truly wonderful experience and the perfect first night in Osaka. Momoko is a wonderful hostess and I wish her all the luck with her new business.

We loved our time with Momo in her amazing tasting bar! She was excellent and very knowledgeable about all things Sake, and helped us understand what we liked and how to order and buy Sake at restaurants and to bring home! Cooking our own Takoyaki was a bonus, so tasty ! Would recommend when travelling to/in Osaka.

Wow, our host Momoko is so bubbly and happy who is a local but also speaks English very well. We learnt so much about Sake as well as drank 😃 as much as we could. We made Takoyaki and I could even make mine vegetarian 🤣 which was wonderful. They were looking like a train wreck then perfection like the street vendors. We had a fabulous night. 🐙🍶👏🏼

We had so much fun learning all about sake and making our own takoyaki. Momoko-san was very knowledgeable and patient in explaining details with us. She also gave us wagyu cheese takoyaki to make, which was so unique. Highly recommend as one of the activities you can do in Osaka, right in the center of Dotonburi. Arigato Momoko-san! :)
