Well planned day in Luxor. Dr Mo was very knowledgeable and friendly. We had a great time, so much to see and do in Luxor. We started at Luxor temple (entry was extra + 35€ guide per person), then we went to essential oil shop (can try and buy), then off to Karnak which was amazing and probably our favorite of the day. Followed by papyrus making shop, (can also buy souvenirs), we then decided to head to the West Bank via boat with local lunch (additional 50€ per person). Once on the West Bank, we visited Colossi of Memnon, followed by Valley of the Kings. (paid extra for tomb of king Tut), followed by a factory for stone sculptures and souvenirs. Had a very private and quiet time at Temple of Hatshepsut, final boat ride across the Nile and ended on a sunset. Over all a great day, lots of optional extras, so pick and choose as you wish to do as little or as much as preferred. We spent about 250€ extra to do everything, but we felt se saw everything there is to see in Luxor. Food was great and made memories for life.

Most certainly Dr. Mo is one of the most informative and knowledgeable guides I have ever had. He has a wealth of knowledge and I would recommend him & the tour. Maybe the lunch was not worth the upsell of $35 but I was informed of the price and what to expect in advance. However, overall a great tour and great guide and I would do it again & recommend.

This was an excellent tour. Hassan was full of information and so attentive. The valley of the kings were unbelievable. The heat was 45 degrees however l, so I would suggest coming at another time of year other than August if possible. Hassan was so good at stopping for breaks out of the heat.

WOOOOOW! What an amazing tour! This was our first time to Luxor and egypt in general and this tour exceeded every expectation. Put your guide Shaimaa was the absolute best! She gave us wonderful information all day long whether it be at the temple or driving around her home. She made sure that we we very well taken care of and cared for. We loved how she gave us guided tours as well as let us roam free. She even gave us the best advice as well as made sure we didn’t die of heat. Truly truly and unforgettable experience. We felt like a part of a family. If you book this tour you will love it we are sure!

My family and I, inclusive of my 8 year old and 15 old sons were on a tour with Dr. Mo as our guide. We were coerced to give a 5star review while still on the tour during the 2nd stop. I have requested removal of that review and want to ensure an accurate review as given to ensure this happens to no one else. A few days prior to our tour Dr.Mo first attempted to tell us entrance fees were not included via WhatsApp despite the tour Clearly stating 3 tombs were included. Once I responded he then said the entrance fees would be included. We were picked up from the airport by our driver who seemed nice. We picked up our guide, Dr. Mo on the side of the road. Our first stop was the colossi of Memnon, he gave us a brief history and took 2 group photos of us before taking us to the next stop, the valley of the kings. Dr. Mo told us we could add the valley of the queens to see Nefertiti for an additional $25 PER PERSON as it would be another location on the opposite side but we declined and said we were interested in the tour we paid for and adding King Tut’s tour, which we knew was another admission fee of about $10. Dr. Mo said he would be taking us to an Alabaster place. He explained the importance of Alabaster to Egypt. Once we arrived they showed us how they turned Alabaster into other items. After the demonstration the gentleman showed us his store where the pricing started astronomical. They didn’t want us to leave and ended up dramatically dropping the prices. Once we arrived to the Valley of the Kings Dr. Mo showed us the map of the valley of the Kings and explained the reason for the differences in the sizes of the different tombs, including King Tut’s. He then stated he would get our included “2 tickets” and we could get our king Tut tickets at the booth if we still wanted to see King Tut. I pulled out my phone to check as I knew there were 3, not 2 tombs included. My husband asked him to confirm 2, he said yes. I quickly pulled up the tour and showed him the inclusions and said there should be 3, 4 total if we did King Tut. He then responded “Yes 3, 4 total.” We started to head towards the ticket booth but This is where everything turned for the worse. My husband and cousin called me back over and said Dr.Mo stated there would be an additional $25 per person, at this point I thought they were referring to the pickup and drop off at the airport which we were told about ahead of time and reminded of via WhatsApp the day before. They said he was saying this would be additional for visiting king Tut’s tomb and paid to him as a charge by the company. I scrubbed the tour details and exclusions prior to booking but I still pulled it back up while waiting for him ti come back from the booth as this was not stated anywhere. At this point one of our group members had already paid the $10 entrance fee for king tut entry but we were upset with the bait and switch method being used. Once Dr.Mo returned I had him clarify to the entire group what the fee was for. He then stated we needed to pay another $25 per person, in addition to the entrance fee because we would be adding something. We were not adding an additional stop on the tour as the tomb is in the same location as the other Tombs we were already seeing. He said it was the company policy. I asked him where it was stated and he said it wasn’t on there (viator) but it’s on TripAdvisor, I showed him it was not. My husband asked him to show us the policy and where it was written because of the principal. What is the fee for? Why weren’t we told about it before now? He said it’s his fee as a guide and it’s the company policy, but said the company would be willing to discount the fee to $20 per person. My husband then said we would be willing to go in the tomb alone to which he replied is “not allowed, it would be breaking the rules.” I then told him I didn’t agree, it should be stated prior to arrival and again showed him where the exclusion said the admission fee and mentioned nothing about an additional tour guide fee for seeing king tut. We also noticed he kept saying it was the company, not him. My husband asked him to state the name of the company knowing the response, to which he replied “Dr. MO’s tours.” He already mentioned he was the person messaging me from the company contact, I then pointed out he was Dr. Mo and therefore it was his company. At this point he denied it being his company and said it was “a different Dr. Mo, he was Mohammed and Dr. Mo was not Mohammed. At this moment he knew our entire group was unsatisfied and he agreed to not charge the unknown fee, but only if we gave him five 5 star reviews. My husband quickly said there were only 4 adults, my son is tall but he is only 15 and does not have an account. He responded with the parent could do it and wanted a handshake. Completely tired of the back and forth my husband said fine and Dr. Mo asked for everyone’s word. Once we received all of our tickets we got on a cart and went to the tombs. He was clearly upset and didn’t speak to us or give any narration during this short ride or walk to the tombs. Once we arrived, to our surprise he said “These are the 3 tombs I recommend and that one is King Tut’s,” as he pointed them out. “You all can walk around freely and I will meet you over there. I’ll give you 30mins”…then walked off! What? No explanations, no history or reasoning for those three tombs. We later found out guides aren’t even allowed inside the tombs by overhearing another guide tell his group. We later saw a sign at the meet up spot as well. All along he knew he couldn’t even go inside yet claimed we needed to pay him, per person, for the added tomb explanation as a guide. Not to mention it took 10 minutes max to visit king Tut’s tomb, and that amount of time was only because we took pictures. Once we all met up Dr. Mo said he would take a 5 minute rest, this would be a good time to post all our five star reviews. At this point we had only completed two stops, and still had quite a bit of time left. He then asked us all if we had posted our reviews, we each showed him. When it was my husbands turn he told him it took longer as he was told to do both his and our son’s but when lifted his phone to show him he said he didn’t need to show him as he trusted him. Once everyone was finished he told us we could continue. Dr. Mo then told us we would head to Karnak and said we would drive past the Obelisk of Queen Hapshetsut to see it from the outside. He then said we could let him know whether we wanted to go inside. Of course we all wanted to go as this was included in the tour we paid for. Once we arrived he said he was fasting and had not been able to eat or drink, he said the sun was hard for him so he would explain from the shaded visitor center instead of at the obelisk. We all perfectly understood and had no problem with where it was explained, we do however feel he should not have booked the tour if competing all of the activities would be a problem. From this point Dr. Mo offered us to take a boat to Karnak instead of driving for an additional $25 per person, at this point we declined as we wouldn’t save any time? It was extremely hot, and everything felt like an attempt to get more money. Once we returned to the car he said it would be an hour for us to arrive at Karnak, he would take us there, give us the option to pay $25 per person if we wanted to see Luxor temple, then take us to the airport. I then asked when we would eat lunch as lunch and water was supposed to be included, it was 2pm and we had received neither. Although we weren’t starving yet this was not mentioned when he was explaining the rest of our itinerary. Dr. Mo immediately took offense and said the food was traditionally served as dinner so we wouldn’t get it until after. He also said If we were hungry he could take us to a restaurant for a traditional Egyptian lunch and we would pay, you guessed it, about $25 per person. I told him I was simply asking a question as it wasn’t mentioned and everyone declined paying anything extra. Once we were closer to Karnak Dr. Mo said he would actually see it the place was open as he feared we may be hungry and wanted to make sure the kids ate. We ate lunch in the car and once a few minutes went by he said he was taking us to an essential oil place for 30 minutes as it was too hot outside. Mind you, we previously told him we didn’t care to go to the essential oil place but we no longer had the desire to go back and forth. Surprisingly, the essential oil place turned out to be one of the biggest highlights of our tour as the service from the people there was excellent. We told Dr. Mo we needed to use the restroom, he said we could use the toilet at Karnak. Once we arrived he rushed inside first. As we went to enter there were men blocking the entrance telling us we needed to pay them to use the toilet. They had no uniforms, they were not security. Mind you we’re all low on cash with all of the water and snacks we needed to purchase along the tour to stay hydrated and maintain energy in 100 degree weather. Plus, the purchases we made as a group at both the Alabaster place and Essential oil shop. My husband walked past them and took my son who couldn’t hold it. Once they came out the men again told him he needed to pay them, my husband told him to talk to his guide The rest of us held out and decided to wait until we got to the airport. Dr. Mo did explain Karnak and took another group picture. He then gave us more free time and told him to meet him when we were ready to leave. Once the tour was over I told him I needed to use the restroom and we wanted to get straight to the airport. He asked me if I wanted to use that one before leaving but I told him I didn’t have cash to give them nor did I want to. Never did he offer to ensure we were able to use the toilet and this was not a policy of the facility. As a guide, he should have made sure we were taken care of as all of our previous guides did. Finally, on our way to the airport the guide tells us the company says only 2 of our 5 reviews were posted. We showed him all of the reviews as we posted them. My husband reminded him my sons review was posted from the same phone and ip. He insisted someone else do do it which would have caused the same problem. Once my husband sternly explained it would do the same thing he finally said it was fine and took us to the airport. As a group we felt held hostage for reviews and this was the most terrible tour experience we have ever had. In a nutshell, the sites were amazing but please utilize another company as our trip was soured with the terrible memory of someone attempting to take advantage of us as tourists. We did not receive the detailed information we know we should have whole at the valley of the kings and can’t get that experience back. We had to google the significance of the tombs we went inside as our guide didn’t bother to explain other than King Tut.

This was a great experience as a solo traveler. I seen beautiful sights that can’t be described with words. I also learned a lot about ancient Egypt history and culture. Hassaan was my guide. He was very informational, polite and patient. I was able to take as many pictures and videos as I wanted without feeling rushed or the need to hurry along. It was a great experience and I definitely recommend whether you are in a group or are a solo traveler!!!

Even though our hot air balloon ride didn't happen because there was too much wind, Khaled saved our day by giving us an amazing tour. Great guy with a kind heart, would recommend it!

Excellent tour with a great guide, Hassan and a professional driver in a clean and new vehicle. Hassan knows his stuff and has the experience to balance "guiding" with allowing free time for exploring and some spontaneity. The sights in Luxor are amazing and Hassan provided the detail, history and context to make the visit fun and educational. The only criticism, and it goes with the tour territory, was the obligatory stop at a souvenir alabaster store. Maybe because I was the only person in the store at the time, a combination of pressure, guilt, and the fact that many of the items were nice, meant I did buy some gifts. Again, that kind of stop is part of any tour and not that big a deal. That being said, I highly recommend this tour for a solid introduction and understanding of the amazing sights in Luxor. Five stars to Hassan and the driver (Mr. Ali -- I think).

I am really impressed with the service received from the time of booking until the end of the tour. The guide Khaled was so knowlegable and funny, I really enjoyed my day with him! This tour was the highlight of my time in Egypt thus far. Dr. Mo is also very professional and communicates very clearly, it made me feel safe as a solo female traveller. I definetly recommend tours with Dr. Mo's company. The best in business for sure 🙂 Thank you Dr. Mo and Khaled. I will forever treasure this great experience!

There are great tours in Egypt and there are bad tours. And then there are some that are just middling. This tour was okay. We hit all of the things on the itinerary. Our tour guide gave us the highlights of each stop and walk us around to see certain key points and details. We got a decent amount of information from him on each part and he handled all of the logistics so we didn't have to deal with anything. This was particularly helpful for things like the electric shuttles and knowing which parts of the vast temples to look at. So overall, he did what we paid for. But that was about it. There was always a sense of rush everywhere, even though the itinerary said we had lots of time. He kept trying to talk us into stops that weren't on the itinerary (and that were clearly meant to sell us stuff). we gave firm no's each time, and while he did drop the topic most times, it was really getting old being asked to add-on things. He then said there wasn't enough time for a proper lunch unless we canceled other things. The tour description does say street food only, but he seemed annoyed when we insisted on that fast lunch (the one we had already paid for) instead of the upgrade (which would have meant missing a temple!!). Car was tiny for three people. Thank god I'm skinny or we would not have all fit. Which might have been okay for short 15 minute trips, but the transition from one bank to the other is an hour each way! As it was, I was sore the next day from spending so much time squeezed in. Water was only provided when we asked for it late in the day, and even then it was oh yeah, that. Whenever we were in the car, our guide was focused on his phone, talking to other people, and ignoring us and our questions about what was that we just passed. It was not the tour we were hoping to get and not what we had come to expect based on previous experiences, but it was decent.

It started off getting picked up at our hotel and getting handed a phone which I talked to the guy who said he will meet with us half way (thought it was our tour guide). Then after 15 min drive, we got out on the side of the street and switched into another van. This was the guy I talked to on the phone and he was the driver and not the tour guide. We went another 20 min to pick up our tour guide in a village on the West Bank and then finally started our tour. The other reviews were right about hidden fees (technically optional but necessary - it was the buses inside the attractions that take you up instead of walking in the heat or with an injury). He said they don’t treat us like clients and more like friends and family but we were def treated like clients constantly getting told of things to do without saying that it’s an extra fee (obviously after reading the reviews I always asked how much and then that’s when he would say it). Our tour guides in all other places always looked out for us and stopped people from scamming or harassing us but he pretty much let it happen everywhere which made the experience in Luxor exhausting. We ended up just ending the tour early because we didn’t even want to continue and we were tired. He grabbed our lunch before sending us off on a boat to get dropped off and although I love koshari, this stop was not worth it. I understand ending the tour early was our decision but it would’ve been nice if he gave us some of our money to get the tickets for the other attractions he knew we were going to, especially since we didn’t use up the money for the entrance fees on half of the tour. I looked up a lot of tours and this looked the best but obviously was not the best experience. We went on our Nile cruise after Luxor and it seems a lot of people with different tours all had bad experiences so seems to be a norm for Luxor!

My experience and reason why I'd explore other tour groups - Things started poorly when my plane was 30 min late arriving at Luxor airport. I declined Dr Mo's 20 USD airport pickup charge and instead took at taxi to our prearranged pickup spot. It was perhaps for this reason Dr Mo unilaterally cancelled the tour (as in refused to return messaging and phone calls). After 30 min of pleading/apologizing into the ether (good thing I got that simcard!), my request the tour continue was granted. Be warned, the subsequent tour is half about seeing the truly wonderful archeological sights and half about being maneuvered into parting with cash. Case in point - the 35 USD extra change to see the Temple of Luxor. What's that you might ask, isn't that right next to the Temple of Karnak? Not 2 minutes away? Well, yes, it is, but if you want to see that too, expect to pay again. Example two - the tour of the alabaster mine. No, this isn't a mine, its a trip to a souvenir shop. Where once you enter the tour guide stops for tea ( the third and last time he sat for 20 minutes to chat with friends) while the shop owner firmly latches the door behind you and proceeds to badger you buy something. "You're in his house," the tour operator explained. Yeah, great. I notice this stop has been removed from the tour on past few weeks. Would not be at all surprised if another grift shop hasn't taken it's place. Additional pressure to buy more unwanted trinkets were spread throughout the day-long tour, including an maddeningly long pause at the Valley of the Kings. After having refused yet again to buy something, the operator announced, "Well, you have 30 min let see all the tombs". Grrrr!) I took other day long trip while in Egypt with other operators and can state unequivocally that they are NOT all this way. Some are terrific! But not this one. This tour was an outlier but so far from the norm I wanted to help others make a better choice.

Dr. Mo’s Luxor tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Egypt. This was an amazing tour and experience. It truly was a private tour and the sunset felucca ride on the Nile was the cherry on top.

The temples and graves are very impressive, its a once in a lifetime experience. But our guid mark made the experience even more special, with his passion, enthusiasm and great knowledge about egyptian history. Also his german was very good. So i can definitely recommend the tour. For break, we had "koshari" (hopefully i spelled it right) at mark's favourite koshari restaurant. It was really good and traditional. Also you don't get pressured to do something you don't want. The guide will always ask for your wishes. 5 stars, definitely.

We booked this day trip with Dr. Mo Tours. Our guide, Hassaan, had a wealth of knowledge that he passionately shared with us. He was very informative, considerate, and courteous. He explain the significance and history of each site. We weren't just taking pictures, we were learning something new every step of the way. We had ample time at each site and had rest breaks in between. Our driver was very professional, courteous, and punctual. Airport pick up and drop off was flawless. I definitely would recommend booking with Dr. Mo 100% My only concern was about the sanitation of the restaurant we had lunch at. We were a little uncomfortable with eating outdoors because of pesky flies, but our tour guide did a good job to help us order something we were accustomed to and could eat quickly. Overall, it was a most memorable trip.

Omg! Dr Mo is arguably the best tour guide I have ever met in my life!!! The gentleman is so passionate and knowledgeable!! If you want to see all the sightseeing with a wonderful flavour, look no more! He’s genuinely the best at what he does, he will tell you everything you need to know in an amazing style that keeps you wanting more, he will present all different theories to the wonderful life of the ancient Egyptians and unlock new areas in your brain. I thought I was getting just a tour guide, but I got a lot more than just this, we were a group of three, who spoke different languages and for somehow he accommodated for all of us in his wonderful and fantastic way of telling the tale of this great civilisation. I really can’t recommend his tour more enough! (Particularly after I had been with 3 other tour guides that were absolutely nothing to compare)

Dr. Mo was very informative and professional during the tour. He took us to all the Luxor sites and gave great advice for getting around. We had plenty of time to view the temples and tombs at our leisure. He even offered to take photos of our family and they looked good.
