We got there early - picked up at 5am! Waited in the que and got a spot at 10.30. Only downside was at the end of the tour waiting nearly 2 hours on the coach because people left without advising the coach!

Fantastic, your guide was very informative. Make sure to take food and drinks. Also Id as we were never told this. Quite rushed but to be expected for such a large area

Overall a good experience. Our initial pick up time was changed from 6:30am to 05:45, good communication via whatsappp to arrange, pick up was on time and transport was clean and comfortable. However when we arrived at Auschwitz we had to hang around for 2 and a half hours until our tour time. Tickets weren’t previously booked (not sure if this was the museums fault) so meant we had to hang around outside for a while until our driver and discover Cracow guide kindly took us to the nearest McDonalds until it was time for our tour. Due to this we weren’t able to complete the Salt Mine on the same day as we missed pick up but again great communication to rearrange this for the following day. Pick up for this was was on time and discover Cracow gave all the information needed.

Good information given re pick up for Auschwitz, bus was on time and good tour of Auschwitz- Birkenau with the guide. Everything organised and no waiting around - we were able to go straight in. Less information given about the time for the salt mine tour pickup as you are dropped back in Krakow between tours. We had to ask our driver who then phoned to check for us. The bus for the afternoon was half an hour late due to bad traffic but we received no information from the company which would have been helpful. We only found out because someone else phoned up. However, a great tour of the salt mine. Overall, a very good day and excellent value for money but it is long and tiring.

Not a great day. We visited Auschwitz & Birkenau and the whole trip was rushed to the point that we had no time at all for a drink, to look at things properly or to take in the place at all. Whilst i do understand that the place was busy, i feel that we missed so much. The day was booked thinking that we would go straight to the salt mines afterwards but no, despite asking the tour guide who had no idea what was happening, the driver wanted to drop us at a random hotel in Krakow and insisted that we wait on the street outside for almost 2 hours to be collected for the Salt Mine visit. We refused that and asked that we be taken back to our hotel. We did get dropped off at our hotel. Later that day we got a call from the driver of the Salt Mine visit as he was waiting at the random hotel. We explained what had happened and he was nothing less than brilliant. He came to our hotel, collected us, provided us with a bottle of cold water and took us to the salt mines. This guy was exceptional, the mines were brilliant and the driver waited for us but kept telling us not to rush and to take our time and see everything. He literally sat and waited in his car the whole time. He then offered to drop us off anywhere in Krakow. Salt Mines themselves were exceptional and i would highly recommend them to anyone but if you are going to Auschwitz, DONT book a guide just buy a guide book and go alone.

My dad and I have been talking about doing this tour for years. We are both massive history buffs particularly WW2 history. To say we loved it would be the wrong words. It was life changing. Sombre, informative, reflective and sad. Our guide Sophie took us through with such respect for the many horrific atrocities that occurred over the two sites. Very well organised and so respectful. Everyone should go and see this in their lifetime.

Our guide was excellent. She spoke with gravitas, had an emotional connection with the victims and answered all of my many questions. Unfortunately the salt mine was closed, by government directive, because of the corona virus.

I've seen enough documentaries regarding ww2.....as well as the Holocaust museum in Washington DC (USA)....so it was quite meaningful to walk the grounds in person. The tour guide was well informed and took approx 3 hours to see.

Auschwitz concentration camp was a network of concentration and extermination camps built and operated by the Nazis. It is a poignant story of the past and hits you straight at your heart. As I went up and down the various buldings and the a few streets of the yester years, along with my guideprovided by Viator i shrivelled inside me. How can humans turn to animals? i went to the town centre,at 7 AM for my pickup and travelled in a comfortable mini van with 18 others.I came back around 1.30 PM, had a quick lunch in the nearby Polish restaurant and was back at the pickup point at 2.45PM/ The afternoon tour was just the opposite-exhilarating to see the preserved salt mines and to hear the story of the miners in a very telling way. It was not tiring and was well worth the day spent.

Auschwitz was powerful and the guide was excellent. The salt mine was fantastic as well. A great trip and glad I saw both on the same day. I recommend this company.

We booked a number of tours with Discover Cracow Tours, either picking us up from our hotel or someone meet us at the hotel and walked us to the tour bus (not very far away). Our first tour was Auschwitz-Birkenau, an early start, whilst on the tour bus a film about the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau. The tour guide at Auschwitz-Birkenau was an amazing man, his knowledge was excellent, he answered questions and was very dignified in relaying harrowing details of what happened, he said go home and tell everyone about this place so those who died here are not forgotten. Before leaving for Kracow we had already decided not to do both tours on the same day as there was lots of walking in 27 degree heat, thank goodness the tour buses were airconditioned. Early the next morning, we were met at the hotel and walked to the tour bus, then headed for the Wieliczka Salt Mine. Wow, lots of steps, 380 from the surface down, in all we went down 800 steps, thank goodness for the 'fast' lift back up to the surface. Again the tour guide was fabulous, his knowledge was excellent and waking through the mines from one area to another has to be experienced. I can still taste the salt! A big thank you to all the staff, drivers and tour guides at Discover Carcow Tours.

This is a place that EVERYONE should visit. An inspiring, heart wrenching and amazing day. Whilst I was initially concerned about the amount of visitors, on reflection, it at least meant that more people were able to see it, understand what happened and ensure that it never, ever happens again.

Discover Cracow Tours were very efficient and helpful with pick up from our hotel on time for both tours. Staff were friendly and helpful with excellent english. A video was played in the minibus giving the background to the Auschwitz camp on the lourney there. Tour guide at the camps was excellent - there is a lot to see and a lot of walking in both Auschwitz and Birkenhau. Very moving and upsetting as you would expect but an unmissable visit. Salt mines also amazing with a lot of steps down and each chamber more impressive than the last. The lift back to the top is an experience with 9 of us crammed into a small cage. We would definitely recommend doing these tours on seperate half days. They both involve a lot of walking with little time for breaks or refreshment so doing both in one day would be a long day

We did this trip over two days. Going to auschwitz was like going to a cattle market, it was very busy. The guide we had was good but sometimes found that what she was talking about we couldn't see as we hadn't entered the room yet because of the crowds of people. It was a three hour tour but could have spent longer there as we didn't see everything because of the time limit that we had.
The salt mine trip we did the following day. I would fully recommend this trip except for the guide that we had that meet us off the mini bus, he was extremely rude and needed a lesson in people skills! One of the people in our tour asked if there was anytime after to look in the shops. His reply was if everyone agrees you can have ten minutes. If you are longer I will not wait for you, you can find your own way back to the bus. Arranging meeting points were not straight forward, leaving most of us confused. The tour guide inside the salt mine was great. It was busy but waited for the tour in front to move before explaining the monuments etc.

Great value for your money, long day of touring but our group was no more than 10 people and were very accommodating to our young child.

Salt mine tour was excellent....my only criticism would be on the Auschwitz tour the guide repeated herself quite a lot. I felt it was a little bit of a conveyor belt....we didn't really have time to pause and take it all in. I felt there were times when she should have just been quiet, especially when walking through the crematoria. I ended up taking my earphone out, just so I could take in what actually happened there....hope that makes sense.

Well paced in that we felt to do both in one day would have been too much. Both trips were well organised with knowledgeable guides, but on both trips we joined with other groups which made it hard to hear on occasions and seemed rushed, for example in Auschwitz we would have liked to look at and study the information and exhibits on display. We were four adults and whilst we would say both trips are a must when visiting Krakow, two of us felt the Salt Mine was only ok and would give it 3 stars.

We had booked our trip to Auschwitz at 7:20am hotel pick up and it lasted until 3pm. We had a very good guide, mrs. Daria, a very friendly and professional guide. After that, we were supposed to visit salt mine (half day tour) which started at 3:30-8pm. Personally, not a very interesting trip, but our guide was very friendly. On the way back to our hotel, as we were exhausted and had nothing for lunch (because we had basically only 30 minutes break) we asked our driver to take us as soon as possible to our hotel if it was possible. He was trooping everyone in frond of their hotels but he left us on the Main Street, we had to use the underpass and walk all the way to our hotel! So unprofessional, as he knew that we had done all the trips today and we were very tired!!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed these two tours. Not only was the pickup on time but the guides friendly and knowledgeable. I feel that everybody should experience Auschwitz at least once. But Wielicka was my last day in Poland and the highlight of my trip. It was super!!! Beautiful!!!
Both tours involve al lot of walking but it is totally worth the effort. The pure air down in the mine makes it easy to walk.
