Wonderful experience with Zim, so skilled, nice and patient! We took many pictures of iconic places (empire state bulding and grand central terminal) and situations (street photography, especially in the subway). Top notch quality! Alla prossima!

The tour was awesome! Our local photographer was super knowledgeable, she helped me get the correct settings on my camera and gave the group great tips on how to take shots of iconic buildings in NYC. The tour was about two hours and some, and no time was wasted, we were constantly on the go.

The safari was great! Zim was an awesome host! We spent 3 hours together learning tons about photography. It was a great experience and I'd be interested in doing it again.

Another excellent photography workshop with Zim, our instructor for the day. She is very knowledgeable, experienced and has a great way of explaining concepts as well as helping with technical advice. This is not my first experience with Zim and NYC Photo Safari and every experience has been great - I highly recommend booking a workshop with them if you live anywhere near NYC or are visiting even for a day.

I have been on a number of photo tours with New York City Photo Safari and must say they were great. Zim is incredible! As a former educator I know a good teacher when I meet one. Zim took time with each participant with patience, expertise, enthusiasm, and good humor. I have definitely become a better photographer. I highly recommend NYC Photo Safari it's a great way to tour NYC.

This tour was the highlight of our trip. Our guide and professional photograpler, David, could not have been more helpful or cordial. He gave a short tutorial about capturing images, then would check our cameras to see how we did. He always offered positive feedback and would make suggestions for the next shot. Being a kind and friendly person didn't hurt the trip either!! Highly recommend!!!

Hi: I'm an advanced amateur photographer but I haven't been to NYC since the '90s. NYC Photo Safari offers multiple tours depending on your schedule and interests. I did back to back what the company called Iconic NY P1 and Iconic NY P2. There were 3 of us in the group as the 4th participant was unable to join. Zim, the pro and owner of NYCPS, taught us many things. The pace is actually quite doable since it combines short lectures during the walks. You will take at least one subway ride to get to these places. Whatever your level, Zim will be there by your side with helpful hints and/or suggestions to better your shots. I also did the special, once a year "9/11 Tribute Lights" tour which was INCREDIBLE!!

5 Zim was thoughtful and engaged and knew what she wanted to teach us and where she wanted to take us. A great way to engage with New York.

I did not know what to expect, but I am happy I took this tour. The local photographer was very knowledgeable and had something to teach to everyone on the tour whether advanced or beginner with photography. I have learned some neat tricks on coming up with catchy composition when shooting architecture, which is plenty in Manhattan. I am planing to attend more photo safari's in New York, and I recommend it to anyone remotely interested in photography.

This is my second photography tour with Zim! I highly recommend her. Every time I get amazing photos worthy of being framed. What makes her stand out? An excellent photo tour - definitely recommended. With a mix of technical and creative input from a highly knowledgeable host, the tour was varied and adaptable to the conditions, which on this occasion was very wet! NYC looks as good in the rain as it does in the sun with plenty of indoor options, so don’t be put off if the weather is poor. The tour will take you places you’ll want to see with help on composing, framing and taking the shot. The technical element can be as detailed as you can handle; lots of opportunities to ask questions and reflect on new learning. You’re sure to come away with some great photos, different but the same. If you want the perfect shot, buy a postcard, but if you want something a little different in the company of a pro and fellow enthusiasts, book a tour with photo safari.

A great way to explore NYC, learn new photography skills and come away with some fabulous photos from my solo work visit to the city. Zim is a great teacher, very knowledgable and reads the level of the group's experience well so she can tailor individual advice specific to everyone's goals. The small group size makes this a personalised experience - I had lots of fun, so much so that I booked for a second tour the following weekend. Really appreciated the flexibility - it was due to rain heavily during the time my tour was booked for, so Zim contacted me in advance and offered for me to switch to the afternoon tour which I did.

This was an outstanding photography safari. I learned so much and I stepped out of my boring comfort zone. I learned to looked at buildings and focus on what I was shooting. My perspective on picture taking has evolved. The instructor was a Gem.
