New Orleans Airboat Ride

This is a typical itinerary for this product

Pass By: Mississippi River, LA

Drive-out along the Mississippi River approximately 30 miles (48 km) to the embarkation point of your airboat from your New Orleans hotel. Depending on the option you selected, board a large airboat holding 15 to 25 passengers or a small airboat limited to six to eight passengers for a more intimate, personalized experience.

Stop At: Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve, 419 Decatur St, New Orleans, LA 70130-1035

Set out on a 20,000-acre (8,095-hectare) tract of tidewater cypress swamp close to the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve. Your airboat is powered by an aircraft propeller to allow a fast, fluid trip through the shallow marshes. Feel the wind on your face as you zip into bayous lined with mossy cypress and tupelo-gum trees.

Prepare to see plenty of alligators in the warmer months (and warmer days in winter), some of which may be out sunning themselves on rocks! Your guide may even feed the gators, affording amazing photo opportunities. Keep your eyes open for turtles, snakes, egrets, herons and ibis. You may even catch sight of a hawk, owl or bald eagle. In the cooler months, look for white-tailed deer, raccoons and the large rodents known as nutria.

Be sure to check out the indoor exhibits of alligators, including an albino alligator.

Note: This tour does not include hotel pick-up or drop-off unless option selected at checkout.

The best!!! What a great touch that our captain is from the area and is generational. We Werner supposed to see gators due to the weather but we did!!! My teens loved actually holding one! Great experience

TikTok was an awesome tour guide. Great experience feeding alligators swamp crack lol. Would definitely recommend

I think his name was Corey but super fun and loved the way he could call the alligators and the ride was awesome really worth the money

There was not much in the way of alligator sightings on this particular day but I do not blame any one. Bad luck was the cause of an average experience.

This was the highlight of our trip. This was my wife’s first time doing the tour and my wife’s first time. she can’t stop talking about the experience. Even though I went before this was different and we had an amazing experience. Our guide was incredible. We got to feed the alligators (which were plentiful). We saw a family of raccoons which he fed as well. The airboat ride was fast and fun. we learned a lot about the ecosystem. It was an amazing experience!

We chose the small airboat and we were able to travel far back into the swamp, which was truly beautiful. We saw multiple gators and other wildlife. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

TikTok was an amazing guide!!! We went on the early tour and we saw several alligators. We even saw raccoons come to the boat. It was amazing

Jay was outstanding guide with so much nature information and a great personality. Highly recommend.

Amazing time with Ronni. He save a great tour and experience. I recommended this to many people that I met during my visit to New Orleans.

Incredible experience! We highly recommend this adventure and if you book this tour you need to request Jay as your tour guide he was outstanding!!! An epic adventure we will never forget

we saw lots of alligators. my kids really enjoyed it. only thing is i wish i drove the boat a little faster in open waters 🤣🤣

A memorable experience. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable of the local area and made Eberle feel comfortable with the airboat experience. Plenty of local wildlife to enjoy.

Great experience all around! I was glad to see alligators in their habitat. Our guide hit all the right spots.

I will say that my experience with this company is hit or miss. I went on the same (large boat) tour within a week from each other and both experiences were complete opposites. The first tour was phenomenal! Our tour guide (Dylan) was amazing, gave us great opportunities to get close to gators and gave us a ton of information on gators and their habitat. I loved it so much that I recommended it for my younger nephew whom to just happen to be visiting a week later. So of course after my first experience I wanted to take him. Well this next tour guild (didn’t give us his name) was horrible. He drove the boat slow making the heat/sun more intense and kept driving away from gators, because he said they were small and he wanted the big one. We finally got to interact with some and contributed on our slow boat ride. Finally at the end we saw a larger gator so he circled back and pasted by slowly no interaction or information again. Let’s just say that it was disappointing. No information was given, and we walked away feeling very disappointed and sunburned with no great stories to off set the pain.

This was an awesome tour and so worth the money. Our shuttle arrived on time. Our guide was knowledgeable of the areas to find alligators! He kept us laughing and very well entertained.

Cory entertains as well as informs. Disappointed there were not any more critters to see……but that is not in Cory’s control. Definitely enjoyable.

This was the highlight of our trip! Jay is amazing! So funny and knowledgeable! I would do this again and ask for Jay!

Did not to get to experience the Boat ride whether conditions was too bad raining... Maybe Wayne conditions are better I will get to experience the boat.

We took the small airboat and had a wonderful and fun captain - Capt. Tik Tok It was an incredible experience! Probably the most fun we had while here! Definitely not to be missed!

Our tour guide Jay was great! He was knowledgeable and friendly with the alligators. He even kissed one! My dad is from Louisiana and had never been on an airboat tour. My son and I came down from Alaska to visit. We had such a fun time and my dad, the Louisianq native, talked about the airboat ride the rest of our trip to everyone! It was worth every penny!

I definitely recommend the smaller airboat and bring a poncho!!

We had such an incredible time! Highly recommend paying extra for the smaller airboat experience! Captain TikTok was an awesome boat driver and the whole experience was interactive as well!

We enjoyed the Airboat Adventure tour. We would go again. Although it rained most of the time, we took it as a blessing to not be hot and sticky. We learned a few things along to way.

We had so much fun! More than we even expected! And we saw so many gators! Our guide was so knowledgeable and funny!

Jay (Manuel) was our guide and he was FABULOUS! He was funny, kind, knowledgeable, personable and fun. He told us about daily life of those who live on those waters, the history of the people, their beliefs in coexisting with the wildlife and the ecology/geography of the area. I would recommend a small boat tour with Jay. It is totally worth the money. He will work with you to make your experience unique and memorable.

Tricks with alligators and understanding their behaviors depending on their ages. Very exciting and a great experience

Great tour! Our family of 5 took the small boat. The tour and tour guide, Hunter, were a great time. It was very cool to see the relationship the guide had with the alligators. Lots of fun!

Our tour guide T-Earl was the truth. He knows the swamp like the back of his hand. He knows the history of the swamp even down to the trees. I’m glad we got T-Earl because he’s very interactive with the gators and his stories are insane. Highly recommended you won’t be disappointed and if you get T-Earl as your tour guide that’s a bonus.

Our boater was a fisherman. I don’t remember his name but he was cool and funny. I enjoyed the ride. Saw a few small gators. The big boys were some where lounging! I want to take my boys back. Definitely an experience!!

Got to ride along with Captain John. He was very informative about everything, made sure everyone had fun and most of all just a kind and wonderful person to be with.
