Great fun to learn how to make momos and afterwards eat them. Easy to contact and book the experience. The only thing missing in the ingredients is the coriander that I love. But they still tasted fantastic 😍. The teaching was very good and I will definitely try and cook them back home.

Great experience to do at a central location in Pokhara. It’s run by a father/son combo who were very friendly, enthusiastic and happy to answer any questions we had! You get to make it all from scratch, and leave with a belly full of delicious momos. Would recommend to all!

Perfect experience! My son and I are visiting Pokhara from Michigan USA and wanted to take a local Nepali cooking class. I contacted them this morning and they responded right away and arranged to host us even though it was same-day. We are foodies and loved the entire experience making chicken momos… Bamdev and his son Samundra opened up their home/family-run hotel for the class. It sounds weird calling it a class; it was more like 4 guys hanging out cooking together. My son ground the ginger and garlic on an old stone while I chopped onions, peppers, and all the other ingredients along with cilantro picked from the backyard garden. We hand-mixed the dough from scratch and rolled it out, and we learned two ways of making the chicken momos and laughed a lot as it wasn’t as easy as it looked. We made the sauce from scratch too. Finally we ate everything we made and it was incredible. My son and I left stuffed and couldn’t eat any more. Where else can you get a really fun 2-hour cooking experience and a full dinner all in one place?! I want to go back some day and try making Dahl Bhat. Thanks guys for a great night!

We learned how to make Dal Bhat in a very authentic and familiar setting. We got many tips and tricks out of the cooking course and the ingredients were also slightly adjusted to suit my dietary restrictions. It was so nice to eat lunch together with the family and get a glimpse into Nepalese life. If you are in Pokhara, we recommend to take a course with Cook with Delight at Hotel Diplomat.

Pokhara offered more than stunning scenery - it gifted me a truly unforgettable experience with this incredible family! Laughter, conversation, delicious Nepalese food, and even a sprinkle of Nepali language learning - it was a perfect blend of cultural immersion and fun. This laid-back family welcomed us with open arms, sharing fascinating stories, cooking tips, and a fantastic vibe. We even enjoyed some post-class beers together, making memories that will last a lifetime. This is what made this experience so special - the genuine warmth and passion of this family. A heartfelt thank you to this amazing family for helping me experience the true essence of Nepali food and hospitality!

Really enjoyed this 2 hour evening learning how to make momos from absolute scratch, with constant oversight and relaxed humor provided by our host. This activity takes place in a working hotel (Diplomat) and the kitchen is large and homey. I signed up solo but was happy to have 3 young teachers from the Netherlands also sign up, which made it so much more fun and less awkward for me. We each went home with recipes and cooking tips, full bellies and good memories. Put your expectations aside and enjoy - was out of my typical comfort zone but I enjoyed it. Take a beer or wine to have with the momos!

We cooked a lot of tasty food and I was lucky enough to have the chef all to myself. He was very kind and packaged up all the food we cooked so that I could share it with my Nepali friends at lunch! They loved it!

I just took the momo cooking class with the father/son dynamic duo of Bam Dave and Samundra. I had the best time and learned so much. They were both so helpful, supportive and funny. I couldn’t recommend learning how to cook Nepali food more than with Cook With Delight and I can hardly wait to come back to Pokhara in November and learn to cook other Nepali dishes with my new friends. Namaste gentlemen. 🙏

Cooking with Delight's mo:mo cooking class in Pokhara: My two teenage sons and I had two days in Pokhara after a seven day trek to Khopra Ridge. Along the trek we got to sample Nepali favourites like Gurung fried bread, Dal Bhat, and steamed and fried dumplings (mo:mo), all prepared slightly differently depending on the cook at the tea house we stayed along the way. We signed up for a mo:mo cooking class one late afternoon after exploring Pokhara. The location was convenient for us—a few minutes walk from the lakeside and close to our hotel. The class started with an overview of ingredients needed (so we can make mo:mo at home). Then we started with a super-easy dough, followed by preparing the dumpling filling and then a salsa / curry / dip. We used all-fresh ingredients so the preparation, chopping, and cooking was a sensory pleasure. Sandhya and her husband were terrific teachers: they demonstrated each step and then gave us hands-on experience (always with the aim that we can prepare the dish at home). At first I thought it would be difficult and intimidating, but they made it easy. I didn’t master the shaping process so my dumplings looked awkward—my sons did a more skilled job at shaping good-looking mo:mo, though. We had so much fun. The two and a half hour class flew by! Before we knew it, we all had plates full of the mo:mo and salsa we had created. Dinner time! Taste-test: the freshness of the ingredients and feeling proud of ourselves, plus a day of exploring and the wonderful instructions in this cooking class made the mo:mos taste like the best we had ever had. As a bonus, Sandhya and her husband explained how we can use the same dough recipe to make Gurung fried bread, which will be on the Sunday brunch menu once we get home again. We loved taking this class—a neat and untypical way to get a taste of Nepal, and a PERFECT activity for a late afternoon after a day of physical activity. Would do this again and try out a new recipe (like the dal bhat class).

Came here with three friends and had an absolutely amazing evening. The family were so welcoming and happy to talk to us about the culture! The Mo Mo lesson was brilliant and we almost had a trainer each! We made about 60 Mo Mos between the four of us! The food was excellent and it was brilliant to be welcomed into the families home to cook it for a genuine experience! Would and have recommended to others I know coming to Pokhara. So worth the money! Brilliant experience. Thank you very much to the family!

I really enjoyed this class and made vegetarian momos. My initial enquiry was responded to very quickly, the class was organised well and we were given information and help to make delicious momos. The best part was eating them. I felt this class was good value for money and great fun.

Excellent class - the teacher knows his art well and it was very enjoyable. Easy to find the location and one could either do veggie or chicken option.

Bem is a nice host! Again a little tweak for the Dal Bhat ingredients. Cooking at home with some tips & tricks and very good to learn the steps for Dal Bhat meal. Being only one in this class, could do all steps myself (with help obviously). You do get a recipe in the end to take home and try yourself!

I can only recommend this cooking class. I've learnt how to make momo and it's really not too hard, the trickiest part is the folding, i was taught both ways, but with a little practice i think this dish will be regular in my house. And i have to say, these momos i cooked there were delicious. You will get the recipe in the end, i think this experience is a very cool souvenir to take home!

We had such a great time cooking at the diplomat hotel. We decided to cook Dhal bat and it was just the two of us for a private class. Our host was friendly and taught us all the secrets of nepali cuisine. He asked for what we liked and adjusted the recipe to our tastes. We shared nice laughter and learned a lot. The Dhal Bat was the best we had ! Very good and lots to eat. We left the Diplomat Hotel with a big smile on our faces and our stomach full ! To me it is definitely a must do in Pokhara if you are interested in cooking !
