We had an amazing experience. Please be aware - if you are looking for a professional cooking establishment this is not for you. Michael is an accomplished home chef. He explained everything in great detail. We prepared the entire dinner in his home kitchen. He was extremely engaging and made my children feel very comfortable. He took the time to show them how to peel , chop, and prepare all the ingredients . The portions were extremely large as well. He answered all of our questions and gave us numerous tips about the city of Vienna. It was like having a meal with a friend who is an en excellent chef!

You will never eat schnitzel the same again after cooking with Nabiel. He will make you a discerning diner and teach you how to make your own bread schnitzel like an accomplished chef. Nabiel’s knowledge of Viennese food and how to cook it is deep and wide. He shares and shows his recipes in great detail. The portions are generous as is the accompanying wine. Nabiel is a historian who brings life to Vienna past with his stories. Nabiel’s flat is easy to find via cab and he called us a taxi to return to our hotel. Altogether a wonderful, personal evening in Vienna that is a fond memory and great travel story.

The cooking lesson was great. He went into a lot of detail and each of us got the opportunity to "pound our veal" for schnitzel and to "cut up the apples very thin" for the strudel. Highlight was learning to stratch the dough. Naiel was a gracious host. His apartment was quite untidy, however. He said that he was inthe midst of moving to another location, so I will give him a pass on that. When he opens his own restaurant and cooking school, it will be a 5 star experience.

Nabiel is so friendly and welcoming! This was the best schnitzel we have ever had and I cannot recommend this more when traveling to Vienna! He teaches you his own tricks on how to keep the schnitzel extra crispy and explains the why behind everything he’s doing which is very helpful to know. Again, this was the BEST food we had in Vienna and recommend to all!

When in Vienna you absolutley cannot miss a class (or 2) at Nabiel’s Vienna Cooking Classes! Nabiel is the consumate host and culinary instructor. Our son, who is the chef/owner of 3 restaurants was part of our group and cannot stop talking about how great our schnitzel and strudel class was. So much fun, good food, amazing wines and we learned a lot to top it off! Highly recommend working this into your stay!

We had amazing time cooking with Nabiel during a lunch cooking class. We met other Americans and were altogether a party of 8 and everyone had fun and lots of laughs. The schnitzel we made was amazing, very crispy. The strudel made by Nabiel’s recipe was better than the one we had day before at Schönbrunn palace cafe. Highly recommend.

Really disappointed with this experience. Our group ended up being nine people, twice as much as advertised. Nabiel was coughing the whole time and didn’t wash his hands, and the kitchen was an absolute disaster. We stayed against our better judgement because we had spent so much money on this experience, but the whole group was grossed out by the state of the apartment. There were dirty dishes and garbage everywhere, and the “soap” was just water. The only saving grace for us was that the other people in the class were friendly, and we somehow managed to not get sick. I was torn about leaving this review because Nabiel seems like a nice person, but I think others need to know what they’re getting into.

Unsanitary space. Filthy kitchen. We had to prep in the cluttered dining room. Hoarder tendencies in the apartment. We didn’t even wash our hands before cooking. He was very sick - not sure if he had Covid. He couldn’t even get up to go back and forth to the kitchen. He used dirty utensils. He drank from a cup of water that he used for the mixture. And there were 8 of us crammed around a dining room table. His knowledge of cooking is great and shared great information. Food was good but all I kept thinking is hopefully the heat killed all the germs. He was supposed to send recipes and I have yet to get them. Worst cooking class experience I’ve ever had.

Has cooking class 12/6. Apartment was filthy and crowded with plants and furniture. He said he was In process of moving. He was coughing nonstop and not wearing mask or washing hands. Dinner supposed to include potato salad but he just served some fried unseasoned potatoes. He was condescending to a fellow attendee At the end of the class you get one schnitzel one potato and a piece of strudel. Does not even you give recipes at the end of the night. Not worth the cost

CAUTION! For €150 per person and 5 star reviews I expected a three course meal by an organized, professional chef, in a clean uncluttered sanitary kitchen. What I got instead was a cooking lesson for a two course meal (schnitzel and strudel) in an unsanitary, dirty environment by an unhealthy, unprofessional chef. For example, we arrived at 19:00 and talked for almost an hour. The cooking didn’t start until I mentioned that I was hungry. Chef Nabiel is sick and should not be charging €150 for the experience that he is giving. He complained a lot of being sick for a very long time. He was unable to walk to his kitchen and get water for one of the guests. He had another guest do it. When I mentioned the fact that we didn’t make the dumplings with beef broth, he did not say a word. The strudel pan that the strudel was cooked in was dirty from the previous day with leftover strudel and butter. He said just “grab it. Don’t worry about washing it” and use it again. The hand soap in the kitchen sink was watered down to almost no soap. The kitchen is so cluttered that we used the dining room table to prepare the strudel and the schnitzel. His house is so cluttered that you could call him a hoarder. He encouraged photographs and videoing in the dining room area, but got upset when someone started filming in the kitchen. I am telling you all of this so you go into this cooking class knowing what to expect for €150 person. Was the food delicious? Yes. Did I learn something new? Yes. Did I feel cheated at the end of the night? Yes.

I can't say enough good things about our cooking lesson with Nabil; if you like good food, lots of laughs, and learning something new then you should definitely book this tour. My mom, sister, and I booked this experience as a surprise for my Mom's 70th birthday. From the moment we arrived and Nabil handed us a bottle of prosecco, some apples, and a paring knife we felt like we were part of the team and having a great time. We loved getting stuck in to the preparation of the delicious meal. Nabil struck a perfect balance of teacher, philosopher, comedian, and chef. We could have stood drinking wine and chatting while we cooked for hours. The food is delicious and loads of it to go around. You'll leave full of good food and good conversation. It was a real highlight of Vienna for us. Thanks Nabil!

I had a great time! Can’t wait to cook it for friends back home. Next time I visit, I will definitely do it again, I’d love to see your restaurant then!

Nabiel is an excellent chef and host! We truly enjoyed our evening learning new tips to make a “ crispy as hell” schnitzel and delicious apple strudel. Nabiel knows how to get everyone involved and had great stories about Vienna. This class was truly one of the highlights of our trip!

Nabiel indeed makes schnitzel which is crispier than hell!! Excellent schnitzel and fun experience. Conducted class from his apartment. Very relaxed. Met fun people. Hands on cooking class. Amazing strudel and techniques.

Potato salad and wiener schnitzel were delicious. The reason for a less than satisfactory review: Covid measures described in tour specifics were not observed: no face masks or hand sanitizer were provided. For a hands-on cooking class we expected to wash our hands upon arrival and repeatedly wash hands. Cleanliness/sanitation was not a priority. Chef Michael said his allergies were a factor in his coughing. He did not wear a mask.

We were promised the recipes via email and never received them. Nabel was short tempered and the kitchen was filthy. To boot we were charged €150 for the experience. Very disappointing to say the least

Dinner was served at 9pm. Food was good. He did call us a taxi at the end of the ending. He was not feeling well and should have probably cancelled the class. Kitchen was very messy and stovetop was very greasy and dirty. Ask about washing our hands and he told us to not worry about it, because food would be cooked at a temp that would kill the bacteria. He could improve his handwashing skills.

This was a FANTASTIC experience for our family (2 adults and 2 teenagers). Nabiel was a great host in his very own home, joking with the kids and sharing many many tidbits and advice for cooking and our trip as a whole. We will go again if we are ever back in Vienna and have already recommended his class to friends!
