We enjoyed seeing the countryside outside of Auckland. The stops at the wineries were fun. We also had a stop down by the beach where we purchased an ice cream . A very pleasant afternoon outing.

John was excellent, and an excellent tour! Got to do tastings at 2 wineries and have time at a beautiful black sand beach. Would absolutely recommend to anyone in Auckland!

5. Great tour. John, our guide was a wealth of information as we drove the beautiful countryside to the different stops. Wineries were well chosen and offered a variety of tastings. Would highly recommend if in Auckland!

Lovely trip though the country beyond Auckland. Our host, John, has an amazing knowledge of the NZ wine world and his country. John narrated throughout our trip on numerous topics besides the NZ wines, which was so interesting and informative. We had a great time and highly recommend this tour if you are interested in wine related topics as well as current NZ conditions. The NZ wines that we tasted were not to our liking that day, but we know that we do enjoy other NZ wines. to our tastes, but nonetheless we had a fine afternoon.

We got to taste some wonderful wines and visit the vast countryside. Our guide was very informative and friendly.

John has a lot of wine industry experience as well as great knowledge of New Zealand history. Lots of interesting information during the ride, brilliant stops to see gannets and walk on the beach and a nice choice of wineries to visit. It's about 4 hours from pick-up to drop-off and a really fun way to spend an afternoon. I highly recommend it!

Very fun! There were 10 of us and it allowed for some great bonding with the rest of the group. Lots of great wine and we came out with so much new knowledge on wine.

The black sand beach stop was the highlight. John was so knowledgeable & shared great info about EVERYTHING!

This was the perfect afternoon tour . The guide John was exceptional. Very friendly and so knowledgeable about not just wine but everything New Zealand! We only had one day in Auckland and we are happy we spent it on this tour .

Great tour! John was such an inspiring and pleasant guide, who gave us a great overview of the history of the area as well as the wineries! You could really tell that John as a great interest in his job, and really loves what he’s doing! He was also very inviting and interested in our background and general view of the topics discussed! I booked this trip with my sister and right from pick up it was enjoyable he is just an amazing guy and extremely knowledgeable about his job and the wine making process, even with the heavy rain during the tour the second there was a clear sky we got to see the black beaches and even collect some black sand from little bottles he gave us. In all this was an amazing experience and would definitely book this tour again

Great tour organized by John, who was very knowledgeable and did his best to ensure we were enjoying ourselves! John took us around to discover the outskirts of Auckland on our way to the vineyards and filled us in on so many details regarding not only New Zealand’s wine production but also the city’s history. We particularly enjoyed the black sandy beach visit which was beautiful even considering the strong wind and cold. Once the tour was over, John was so kind to take us back to our hotels without even having to walk back..much appreciated John! Very nice tour if you are looking for a good wine tasting experience with a small group (we happened to only 5 people). Highly recommended!
