Chris is an excellent guide. He’s friendly, attentive, and very passionate about the area. He even gave us walking boots and walking sticks to make the day more comfortable! We learnt so much on our tour about the wonders of the Five Lakes and it was a really special day on our honeymoon. He made sure we got plenty of photos of Mt Fuji and took us to areas that were full of far fewer tourists, like the haha-no shiritaki waterfall and the Dragon Cave which we got to enjoy in relative privacy. We had a great time on our tour with Chris. Mount Fuji didn’t show her face, but Chris made up for it; taking us to secret caves and lovely on walks. The whole day ran at a pace to suit us, calm and relaxed.

We opted for a private tour of Mt. Fuji, and it was truly the highlight of our trip! With the personalized attention, we enjoyed a fantastic experience, exploring the area's wonders without the usual crowds. Our guide was incredibly well-prepared, providing everything from jackets to hiking boots, ensuring our comfort throughout the day. Aside from the breathtaking sights, our tour included some great food stops that added to the overall experience. From start to finish, every detail was expertly handled, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the beauty of Mt. Fuji without any worries.

My visit to Kawaguchiko was memorable in every respect. Chris was welcoming from the get-go, and within minutes I knew that he was not only knowledgeable about the area, he was completely in love with it. And that made all of the difference. Here was someone who wanted his visitor to see the environs through his eyes and to experience the area in a holistic way. History, nature and culture all factored into his enthralling narrative, and it was hard to get on the train to return to Shinjuku after that immersive experience. If I could give him a 100, I would.

An absolutely wonderful day with Chris exploring the hidden gems around Kawaguchiko. My Mum and I visited as part of a tour round Japan and it was great to get away from the regular tourist spots and get a real feel for the area with Chris. We visited on a cloudy and drizzly day without a full Fuji view but that didn’t take away from the enjoyment - Chris showed us some absolute gems! It’s a day we will not forget - thank you Chris!

This tour was like flying first class on Emirates! Chris helped to personalize the entire tour based on our needs and wants. Not only that, but he brought us hiking shoes and socks to go on hikes and camping chairs and tea to sit and relax and enjoy the glory of Mount Fuji. He and his wife are so sweet and kind. We were not part of any overcrowded tourist areas and got the most beautiful views of Fuji and the lakes, hiked to two waterfalls and a stunning moss filled forest grown on volcano rock. We even went to the Fuji shrine and had coffee and French pastries on a hilltop looking at Fuji. It was one of the best parts of our Japan trip. He also gave us directions to get on the right trains and was so supportive through text to help us. Thank you Chris!

A very well organised tour by Chris who taylor made the experience around what we wanted to see and do rather than just carry out a standard tour . An unexpected snowfall a couple of days before meant we could not visit the waterfalls but Chris found alternative views and things to see

We had a truly exceptional experience with Yumi! She is a local which gave us a real insight into the Japanese culture and experience during the tour, but also speaks perfect English which made it easy for us to understand and learn. The tour was totally customizable, she was patient, attentive, kind, passionate and knowledgeable. We learned so much and saw so much beauty - it was a true highlight of our trip. I have never been on a tour with a guide that was so caring - she provided hiking shoes to us when she realized we only had tennis shoes, had hot tea, chairs in the van for us to rest or just enjoy the view, made sure we had snacks, truly a 11/10 experience. Would recommend to anyone traveling to Fuji!

Serene, inspiring, personal. Our experience with Chris mirrors the mountain herself. The ancient cedars were a special highlight which we would never have found otherwise. A tour guide but more like visiting your best friend that happens to live in the area.

Had a wonderful day with Chris on New Year's Day. The weather was wonderful, which was neither mine nor Chris doing :-) , was just very lucky, but Chris did the rest of the job and I spent a lovely, fun and relaxing day around the 5 Fuji lakes. I told Chris what I absolutely wanted to see and then let him chose the rest and I think it turned out wonderfully. The fact that it was a private trip for just me was a huge bonus, of course. Also, the place was packed with tourists, but Chris was able to show me many, many places totally without crowds, from where I could fill my eyes with Fujisan. I look forward to my next trip to the area, because I am sure Chris has still many places to show me...

This tour with Chris is a can’t miss experience if you’re in the Fuji-san area. He took us to various spots around Lake Kawaguchiko, Lake Saiko and more, where you could take in all of the natural beauty of the area, always with Fuji in the nearby vicinity. Chris gave a great tour and was extremely knowledgeable and well prepared. I had mobility issues and was never rushed. Definitely recommend-great, great tour. One of the best we did-and we did a few all over Japan.

Truly hidden jem of japan tours, chris took us to around lake kawaguchi and lake saiko, with lot of unforgettable memories. Chris knew all the good spots, was more than considerate and took us around at our own pace had everything ready if needed. Bathrooms and all amenities were within minutes all and all 10/10. If you want an unforgettable experience around mt.fuji this is the tour to go for.

We had no idea what to expect, maybe a few more temples and shrines with the iconic mountain as a backdrop. it turned out to be an immersive day of natural history, stunning lakes, and personal stories. Sure, there were plenty of Fuji views, and the clear weather was a bonus, but we never felt we were on a tour, more a day out with a friend who knew his stuff. Chris doesn't need any more 5 star reviews because he has surely cornered the market.

After spending two weeks in Japan, this tour with Chris was the highlight! The weather on the date of our tour was iffy, but Chris had a plan in place and offered jackets, raincoats, and boots in case we were underprepared. We got to see various sights around the Fuji Five Lakes and the day felt leisurely and unhurried, as we were allowed to linger as much as we wanted at each stop. We had multiple stops for French pastries, snacks, lunch, and bathrooms, and it felt like traveling with an old friend, rather than a tour guide. He was great about offering to take photos and finding quiet places for us to get great shots of Mt. Fuji. Highly recommended!
