Had a wonderful hiking trip with my guide and driver (Jeling). The hike up was tough as slopes were steep and slippery but the view at the top was amazing, totally worth it. Jeling was very punctual and recommended good photo taking sceneries. Very comfortable ride throughout the whole journey. Hope to see you again brother!

The view from the top is amazing. But what is worthwhile and made the whole journey easy and fun is my guide who came with me - KUAS. The guide was super good. He helped me throughout, told interesting facts throughout, clicked pictures, panoramic shots were the best, breakfast on top,got me the best place to enjoy the view, showed me all the plantations on the way down... and more.... I would recommend him for everyone to go for! Even if you are a beginner. Go for it!

This was one of the main trips we wanted to do on our honeymoon, it was a very early start! at 2:15am! and a long drive to the foot of Batur where we met our guide Sary. The hike in the dark was hard, very steep in places and took about 3 hours to reach the summit. But all thanks to Sary we made it in time! She was so full of encouragement and helped every step of the way, we made it to the top in time for an incredible sunrise! Breakfast was a yummy banana sandwich and a boiled egg cooked in volcanic steam washed down with a cup of hot tea, it’s chilly at the top! Amazing sense of achievement, made the views at the top even more special. We would highly recommend this trip to Bali visitors but beware that the hike is hard in places.

Early pickup (02.15) to drive an hour out of Ubud to Batur. Around 3 hours to get to the summit. I would say the climb is a moderate to difficult due to the loose surface on the walk. Our Guide Sary was amazing, full of enthusiasm and encouragement she helped every step of the way. Not sure we would have made it without her. The view from the top and the feeling of accomplishment at the top made the difficult walk well worth it. Breakfast was warm banana sandwiches a boiled egg and a cup of tea and it was lovely Hot springs for an hour afterwards helped ease the sore legs. And the addition of a coffee plantation was a nice way to end the trip. Would highly recommend this trip but the climb is not for people with reduced fitness

The hike was a tad more difficult than I had expected but well worth it once I reached the top. Watching the sun rise from up high was so beautiful. Our guide was awesome. I really enjoyed the hot springs.

Manwiss was simply the best guide!!! Wow - what an incredible adventure hiking up Mt. Batur. Manwiss did a great job guiding us in the wee hours of the morning and getting us to the top in time for the stunning sunrise. I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for the amazing experience you provided. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will cherish forever. The hike itself was breathtaking, both physically and metaphorically. The rugged beauty of the terrain, the stunning views of the sunrise, and the sense of accomplishment as we reached the summit—it all exceeded our expectations. Your encouragement, patience, and support throughout the climb were invaluable, especially during the more challenging sections. The sunrise from the top of Mount Batur was truly magical. The vibrant hues painting the sky, the serene atmosphere, and the panoramic vistas—it was a moment of pure awe and wonder. Moreover, I appreciated your attention to my wife’s safety and ensuring she was able to scale the 1512ft elevation. Thank you for the remarkable experience of hiking up Mount Batur. Your expertise, passion, and dedication to creating a memorable journey were truly exceptional. I can confidently say that this adventure will forever hold a special place in my heart. I will definitely recommend your services to fellow adventurers and hope to have the opportunity to embark on another thrilling expedition with you in the future. Keep up the amazing work!"

Strongly recommend if you’re even slightly outdoorsy. The hike itself was roughly 1.8 miles, + 1,700 vert, and took about an hour (one way) for a moderately athletic group of 30 somethings. There are a couple of steep pitches but if you’ve hiked a hill/mountain before it’s nothing to worry about. Or guide, Kuas, was phenomenal. He set a great pace for the group and checked in often for short breaks. Meanwhile, he casually told us about the volcano’s history and impact on the local community. To top it all off, he served up a rustic breakfast of coffee, banana sandwiches, and eggs cooked via volcanic steam. He snapped off a couple dynamite pictures of the group for good measure. From there, the hot springs were a welcome retrieve. By the time the coffee and tea tasting comes around you’ll have forgotten that you woke up so early to make it all happen. Overall: incredible value, world class views, great recovery after. There’s few things that could get me up at 0130 but I’d do this again if I come back. Still can’t believe the door to door service. All of our guides were fantastic. Pro tips- hiking shoes with tall socks and a jacket in a backpack for peak. Swim wear, sandals, and a change of clothes for the hot springs. Room in your luggage for gift shop bags of coffee and tea after the tasting. Dramamine if you get carsick, but our drivers were 10/10.

This guided tour up Mount Batur was so beautiful and exceed my expectations. Our guide Kuas was amazing! He had a great pace going up, we made it up in good time and we were still able to take breaks so we didn’t get too exhausted. The hike was steep at points, but not as bad as I had read in some reviews and Kuas helped us at any point if we needed! We cooked eggs in the steam of the volcano, which was very cool! Kuas made us coffee and warm banana sandwiches as we watched the sunrise. He was very kind and helpful. Kuas shared a lot of information about the volcano. I would recommend him and this trip to anyone who comes to Bali. Also the hot springs and coffee/tea tasting was an awesome bonus to a great day!

Such a great experience! Kuas was our guide, extremely friendly and helpful for traversing the climb. He built in breaks to our ascent and moved us through a good pace. Not to mention breakfast and breathtaking views of the sunrise! We loved the visit to the hot springs and coffee plantation following. Definitely recommend this trip!

We had an AMAZING trek with Subagia! He was such a great guide. A charismatic young guy with knowledge and just a complete pleasure to be around. The views were incredible and worth every bit of waking up that early for. Our driver was great and very accommodating, even helping us with things that he didn’t need to. The hot springs were amazing and sorely needed after an amazing trek. And finally, the coffee plantation such a great ending to our day! Wayan was an amazing coffee guide. This was a Once in a lifetime experience. High recommend.

The Mount Batur Hike was definitely worth it. Although the experience is not a quiet walk in nature, instead you’ll hear the sounds of Jeep’s and motorbikes passing by and be accompanied by 600 other walkers. It’s busy and loud though watching the sunrise at the top is totally worth it. You won’t receive a booking confirmation without reaching out yourself and the drive to the location was sickening, weaving in and out of traffic, through winding roads as if we were in a hurry. Our hike guide Sari was wonderful, so kind, full of knowledge and helpful on the walk. She was amazing and made the experience a great one. The natural springs I’d pass on next time. Not something i’d race back to do again anytime soon.

This was a great part of our vacation to Ubud. I would agree with previous reviews that it is pretty hard, that you need good tennis shoes or hiking boots, if you have a headlamp I would consider bringing it. There are limited bathrooms and you will need to provide your own TP and likely pay for the ones on the climb. I wish I had had some cash to purchase some of the hand-crafted items being sold at the top, as well.

Our guide, Karma, was a lovely and patient man. I worry about the impact on the environment of all us tourists tracking up and down the volcano (including us) though. Some nuff nuffs sent up drones at the top of the volcano…bit inconsiderate
