I was looking for a guided hike that would take care of all logistics and was stoked to have found Adventures in Seattle! I used Sophia's services for a guided hike in Mt. Rainier and I couldn't have been happier with the experience! Sophia was wonderful throughout the entire process. Prior to booking she was incredibly kind & responsive and after booking she was very communicative in confirming the details we'd need to know regarding weather, pickup, etc. Finally, during the actual hike itself, she continuously made sure everyone felt comfortable throughout the hike and worked to ensure everyone's safety. It was a memorable experience and would 100% recommend booking with her! Also, she keeps groups small, which was an added bonus!

I was very fortunate, in many capacities, to have Sophia as a guide for a three person tour to The Three Burroughs in an attempt to see the best views of Mt. Rainier. The guide experience with Sophia was more like traveling with a highly experienced friend rather than an overly sanitized, corporate excursion. I mean this is the best possible way — Adventures in Seattle offered wonderful personal services like pick-up from any Seattle lodging, food recommendations for the included lunch, backpacks in case we didn't want ours to get wet, and hiking poles for the day, all of which were a part of the trip cost and are not very common. The weather did not cooperate for us. What should have been a cloudy day with decent rain on the mountains rapidly became gale-force winds pelting us with painful sleet as we reached higher elevations. Sophia was willing to push when I said I wanted to keep going, and we did, until our waterproof hiking boots and pants were soaked through and it became clear to her we were reaching dangerous territory. And so, we turned back. Had I been alone I don't think I would have — this would have been to my detriment. It wasn't until we were in safer parts of the hike that I realized how bad it really was. This is why a guide is important for inexperienced mountain hikers, and we were lucky to have Sophia there. Hubris on a mountain is not an asset. And still! Still! This was an incredibly fun hike. We got to see Mt. Rainier's glaciers, some gorgeous lakes and wildflowers, accompanied by unparalleled views and a perfect amount of history and general knowledge shared by Sophia. I will recommend Adventures in Seattle to anyone and everyone coming out to Washington.

Sophia led the hike up the Burroughs trail and it was incredible. I went solo and she worked me into a small group of three others and let me just say, we had a Blast!! She provided transportation to and from the trail which makes it really convenient if you do not have a rental car. She made sure everyone was properly prepared for the day, managed the pace of hike, provided great snacks, and a hearty lunch. It was just so well organized. Mt Rainier was shining that day which made the trip even more special. We also saw mountain goats, marmots, pikas, even a sow and cub. The park is just so beautiful and Sophia made sure we had a great experience. This was absolutely the highlight of my trip. I highly recommend "Adventures in Seattle"!! I will be booking another adventure with Sophia when I get back to the area!

Wow! You are going to love this hike with “Adventures In Seattle”! Both Sophia and Kevin are cool people who make you feel welcome and appreciated. Sophia was very accommodating and well organized in helping me understand what to expect. Kevin took me on the hike to Mount Rainier National Park, and it was like a non-stop conversation from pick-up to drop-off. Kevin is so down to earth, knowledgeable, and has so many interesting stories from his experiences outdoors. The hike itself captures the beauty of the National Park and Mount Rainier and it is timed and organized perfectly. Kevin is very knowledgeable of the Park itself, but he also gave pointers on the skill and technique of hiking, which is a takeaway I can use when hiking in other areas. The hike itself was, in my opinion, a notch above “moderate” in skill level. When we completed the hike, I feel like I accomplished something and felt good about myself. I highly recommend this hike (or anything else from “Adventures In Seattle”) and look forward to another adventure with them during my next visit to Seattle!

This was a very enjoyable experience and I would recommend Adventures in Seattle to anyone looking for a personal and adventurous Seattle experience. Thank you Sophia !

I have done 2 hikes with this group and both provided beautiful views! The first hike was Mount Rainier Three Burroughs. I would recommend this hike to those who are in good physical condition as it was a bit rough. I consider myself to be in average/above average condition but I live at sea level and at that elevation it was more difficult for me to breathe and I needed to make frequent stops on the inclines (which our guides were great about stopping and making sure we were comfortable). While I wasn't sore after this, if you aren't used to hiking, be prepared for a bit of soreness. With all of that being said, the views are just gorgeous so it makes it totally worth it!! You can see so much on a clear day!!! The 2nd hike was called Talapus Lake. This was an easy ~4 mi round-trip hike. The lake is crystal clear and is great for swimming and fishing or just relaxing. We stopped at the first lake but you can extend your journey by hiking to the next lake, just ask your knowledgeable hostess, Sophia to take you there. I can not say enough good things about Sophia. She is very knowledgeable about the area and about hiking. She will go out of her way to make sure that your experience is everything you hoped it to be and more.

I had the pleasure of having Sophia take me out for the Mount Rainier Three Burroughs hike. It was definitely one of the top days in my trip! Thank you so much Sophia for providing such great service, company, and knowledge! I was travelling on my own in Seattle and was super keen to go to Mount Rainier. I started looking into finding a way of going on my own, hiring a car, looking for routes, etc. It was getting a bit complicated and becoming a lot of effort. I only had a few days in Seattle so I didn't want to waste time. I decided to google for a tour to go for a hike and that is when I found Adventures In Seattle. It was perfect for what I was looking for! I emailed Sophia on a Saturday to see if I could do the Mount Rainier Three Burroughs hike within the next couple of days and shortly after I sent it, we had arranged to go the Monday. Sophia picked me up from the hostel I was staying at, she had bought me a coffee for the trip down to the national park. She had brought all the equipment I needed for the hike (yaktrax, a bag with plenty of food, snacks, and drink). All I needed to do was just roll out of bed and wake up for the day. The rest was taken care of. Throughout the stunning hike (the views were jaw dropping), we had excellent conversations about all sorts. Sophia had loads of amazing stories to tell about trips she has done on her own. All of her experience made me feel like I was in very capable hands. We got to the top of the third Burroughs and stopped for some lunch that Sophia had made for the trip. A delicious sandwich with plenty of nibbles like olives, cured meats, and fruit. We just enjoyed the view for a hour or so giving me plenty of time to contemplate why I work in London. We took a different route to get back to the truck with more stunning new views. At no point during the 9 mile round hike was it boring or tiring! I could of gone for longer. We got back to the truck and enjoyed some fresh cold water along with plenty of watermelon. We started to make a move back but Sophia had a nice surprise at a little stop further down the road. She got out two cold cans of Rainier beer to enjoy with our fitting view. When I am next in town, I will definitely be talking to Sophia again to go for another Adventure In Seattle.
