We were really satisfied choosing Cheap Bromo for our Java tour. The communication beforehand was really smooth and everyone was super helpful. We did the Tumpak Sewu, Mt. Bromo and Ijen tour which we really enjoyed. Big thanks to our guide Faruq who showed us all the cool less touristy spots and made our trip fun. We have gotten Cheapbromo for our 3d2n package to Ijen Crater --> Mount Bromo --> Madakaripura. However, due to a landslide, Madakaripura waterfall was closed and we didint managed to go there. 1st night was night hike at Mt Ijen, a tiring hike cos of the steep slope. It was pretty foggy when we reach the top of the crater so only managed to see some scenery. 2nd night wake up early to see sunrise at Mt Penanjakan before proceeding to Mt Bromo. Weather was hot but got to see the volcano crater (very crowded up there). A more fruitful trip compared to Ijen. Our tour guide was Oni and driver was Mr Gik. They were with us for the whole trip. Oni was friendly and helpful. When we were at Mt Ijen, he was patience and look out for the one that falls behind. Mr Gik was a season driver and bring us safely to all the destinations, especially the long drive from Ijen to Bromo. Will look for them if we visit the place again.

We booked a 3 day adventure with this company we found online. It far exceeded our expectations! The service off the bat was great- we live in the states and while inquiring about this trip we got friendly responses within the day, even though we are a -12 hour time difference. We were very fortunate to end up getting our guide and driver, Danang and Takim. From the first night of the trip Danang reached out and informed us that it was going to be extremely busy with the holiday, so he asked us if we would be willing to start early so we could get there before the crowds, and man they were right! We got down to the waterfalls before the masses started and also went to visit the caves before things got crazy. Not only was Danang a wonderful guide, explaining things to us and teaching us about their culture, but he is also a killer photographer! He helped us take some amazing pictures. Takim was the other half to the equation- our driver. He was wonderful, made us feel very safe, in what I would consider a pretty hectic place to drive! While making us feel safe, he also was the most on time and punctual driver we’ve ever had. When they say let’s go at 12:30 in the morning- he was there at least 2 min early every time. We also did mt Bromo which was beautiful, and also Mt Ijen. Every part of the trip, down to the secret spots shared with us will Be memories that will last a life time. Although some of these places can be crowded at times they went above and beyond to make us enjoy every second of the trip. If you’re going to Java or Bali I would highly recommend booking a trip with the company and if possible requesting these guys!

What an amazing three days! Danang our guide and Takim our driver exceeded all expectations and made for an unforgettable experience for our visit to East Java during our honeymoon trip. Knowing we were visiting during a busy time, they adjusted our itinerary to help us get ahead of the crowds each day. Danang was incredibly knowledgeable, teaching us about the area and always having the answer to ‘What’s that mountain?’ or any other questions we had on our mind. The hotels that were booked for us and the stops for breaks, breakfast, and lunch were wonderful. Tumpak Sewu and Goa Tetes Waterfalls, Bromo Jeep Tour with Sunrise and hike to Crater, and Kawah Ijen Blue Flames and Sunrise at the crater will live in our hearts forever thanks to this awesome team and the whole CheapBromo crew that helped to plan our tour. Our guide Rai brought us to an amazing viewing spot to see the sunrise for mount bromo. He made sure that the safety of my friends and myself were well taken care of and not overcharged by locals for goods and services. It was unfortunate that we fell sick and couldn’t complete the tour. Rai brought us to the local clinic and helped us with communicating with Cheapbromo when we decided to stop the tour.

This trip was just perfect. We love to travel alone, usually we rent our own car, but in this case we decided to book private tour. It is much smarter choice moneywise and also you save yourself a lot of stress with driving in Java. Schedule is tight if you want to see Bromo, Ijen and Tumpak Sewu in 3 days. Be prepared to sleep a lot in car during long drives from one place to other. However we had a perfect guide and driver just for two of us. Mario is excelent guide. He is very friendly and dedicated to explain anything you want to know. He speaks bery good English. We took the trip during Ramadan and he walked/hiked everything with us without eating anything during day and always stayed positive. I wish I could do the same. Wahyu our driver did amazing job getting us everywhere fast. They make their best to get you everywhere as soon as they can, so you dont have to queue up behind annoying big groups of tourists. They know the places much better than “guides” you can hire for one day trips. We spend two nights in hotels chosen by company. I have to say that I was surprised how good hotels were. Overall I would say that this package is great value for money paid. You cant choose better if you have just few days dedicated for East Java exploration. 10 out of 10

I had a lovely trip with my guide sugi and my driver febri. They took care of me on this trip and accommodating. The entire tour is well planned out with meals and decent accommodation provided for. I'm glad I've taken the solo trip as I,didn't have to wait for anyone and the pace depended on me when arriving at mt bromo and ljen. End of March is perfect. Not much tourists and rainy season is ending.

Overall we had a great trip. Unfortunately a combination of poor weather and last minute government closures prevented us having the trip we originally planned. Just the day before our trip was due to start I was told the Madakaripura waterfalls were actually closed (due to a landslide weeks before). Also that Bromo crater was also closed for 2 days due to a recent government notice that it was to be closed for cleaning. What made things more difficult is that Ijen is also normally closed the first Friday of each month for cleaning. So after much discussion and disappointment on our side that we weren't told about any of this until the day before cheapbromo admin agreed a price reduction of 400k IDR per person as no waterfalls and no Bromo crater. The Ijen part of the trip, the upbeat nature of our guide Ray, the professionalism of the driver and the comfort of his car really made this trip enjoyable. We were able to sleep in the car and stop off for the toilet and snack stops over the long journey. So we pursued with the new itinerary picking us up from Surabaya airport in the evening and driving 2 hours to Lava hotel in Bromo via a stop for dinner. We got the jeep at 3am to the base, then walked up to a sunrise viewpoint but unfortunately it was pouring with rain so we got soaked. We then waited around for sunrise and the rain to stop until 7am (which it didn't) then went back to the hotel for a nice local hot breakfast. The hotel, although very basic, has a great view of Bromo so we were able to see it later in the morning before we checked out. We then drove to ijen (4 hours) via a lunch stop to stay at Grand Padis. This was a great 4* hotel business style hotel where we were able to shower and sleep very comfortably. The driver suggested we leave for Ijen a bit earlier due to traffic so we left the hotel at 11pm and arrived at Ijen at 1:30am. This gave us just enough to grab some hot tea and noodles then start the hike to the blue fires. We got there around 3:30am (quite a steep trek up the volcano and then down to the creator) and the fires were amazing! We then trekked back up from the creator edge to wait for sunset at 5:20am. We had some magnificent views of the acid pool and surrounding mountains. We then walked all the way back down to carpark arriving back around 7:00am. All in all its around 12 kilometres of trekking/walking and it's well worth it! Then it's around 6 hours back to Surabaya where we were dropped off at our hotel.

We did the 3D2N Bromo - Ijen tour with Ozy. It was one of the most unforgettable experiences we've ever had. Ozy was a fantastic guide, who always made us feel comfortable and at ease, which was important because there were some very long car journeys and early morning starts! He was always able to answer our questions about the landscapes, the geography, and the history of the locations we visited. The accommodation was sorted for us in advance and even though we were never in one place for too long, it was nice to have somewhere comfortable to rest. It was a very well organised trip, and we highly recommend this company for the ultimate experience of Bromo and Ijen. In terms of the hikes themselves, Bromo was definitely easier than Ijen. Ijen was rather challenging and strenuous, as it was mostly uphill. The walk down to the crater was steep and uneven, we recommend you wear proper trainers or walking shoes. Don't forget extra layers! However, the views are definitely worth it, they'll take your breath away!

We did the bromo sunrise tour and the ijen blue fire tour across 3 days! I recommend doing it over 3 days so that it isn’t rushed. This tour will definitely be one of the highlights of my whole time travelling around SE Asia. The hotels we stayed in were really nice and it was overall a very stress-free experience. Our tour guide was Ozy! He was amazing, friendly and very knowledgeable on both areas. We didn’t feel rushed at all and he made us feel very comfortable when hiking and we could take breaks whenever we needed. Throughout the tour he was organised, professional and always happy to take photos of us. The tour wouldn’t have been the same without him. I highly recommend him as a tour guide!

So let me start from here: i am a professional traveler and traveled many places around the world. I am able to plan and execute my own trip anywhere. But here and now i needed some help because you do too, i was also constrained by the limited vacation days as i did not afford to spend more days than this. Let me explain.. if you lose one hour on a wrong turn, you miss your one shot at the Bromo sunrise or the Ijen blue fire. What is more precious? Your experience maybe once in a lifetime or other things? I took a family trip to Mt Bromo sunrise and Ijen blue fire with Cheap bromo. The entire process of trip booking and planning was very smooth. They provided us with an excellent English speaking guide Rai and driver Wembi. Throughout the trip Both of them very supportive and understanding. Rai was very much well versed with the area, history, culture and all the details you need to know about the place you want to visit. The views are amazing, guide Danang is very helpful, friendly and polite. Hotels were very neat and safe in Probolinggo and in Bondowoso.

Our visit included the Tumpak Sewu waterfall, Mount Bromo and Ijen crater tours and we had the most amazing time.
